Ok, how will I go about auditioning next year, I looked at the home page and read everything, but why do i have to submit a video, can't I must show up at the open calls and audition in front of the judges, why do I need a video? my act is must to sing nothing more, so i didn't see a need for a video, I already printed out the audition form as well, so do i just show up at the open calls with the form or mail it to them, please someone help i am utterly confused!

What about the whole deal with the video???

I checked the thing thats on the home page, and submitted my email adress, now are they emailing me tour dates our dates and times of the open calls??

Calm down! I'm auditioning too. Just send in a tape so they can see what you can do while you're waiting for the updates on the audition dates.

I'm with you on this one. I play the piano and a laundry list of other things as well. I don't feel comfortable giving my stuff to a stranger! I would rather do an audition face to face so that I can get feedback but I have gotten so many lessons since the first season... how could they NOT let me in. I am frusterated too that I have to give my video to some unkown person who probably isn't even gonna look at it. You know now they have it where it's like trying to get a gig with a major record label. Lots of good people (myself included) will not be noticed by some stranger who is randomly picking and choosing videos and doing God knows what with the others.

Believe me... Carrie Underwood would not be where she is today if she had to send demos nilly willy. She got noticed because she stood face to face in front of Simon, Randy and Paula. So when you know anything about these auditions, let me know so that I can put on a show

So hopefully they WILL do open calls again this year and a Denver audition would be nice too. This is where The Fray, Ace Young and Chris Daughtry started.

I think that sending a video to the jury isn't so bad for lots of people. There are people that have got an amazing talent, but are very insecure and are afraid of standing in front of a jury. Maybe they don't know they're good enough. If you're able to send a video you would not confrontated with a bad performance. I also think it is less frustrating for people with no talent and think they've got it al! They can't see the faces of the jury and therefore they won't feel that bad.

Hey all, j/w if anyone has auditioned b4 for AGT, and if so how was your experience? Also please any information on how long the audition days went on for and how much money do you think one should have on them. for food, lodging etc.. also once you make it on the show do they start to pay for your hotel and all? any info would be great!! thanx and best of luck to all who audition this year ill see you there and the let the competition begin!!

Alicia, if you look at the box to submitt your information there is an area that says where the audition locations will be but they don't have any dates listed as of yet. I guess I was one of the first to email for information so they sent me an email, hopefully I can get to chicago or nashville. One is 5 hours away and the other only about 2. I think I will go to Nashville. anyways good luck. AJ

When you say they "sent you an email", do you mean the generic "thank you for contacting and send us a video email"? I got that. I also FedEx'd our video and applications over a month ago. Just wondering if you have received specific contact from them, or just the normal stuff... Thanks!

Dates and Times for Auditions Yet?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about scheduled Open Calls / Auditions yet for the show. I have sent in my audition tape and application in, way back in August 07.
I received an e-mail, about the auditions, but nothing about a schedule with dates and times or location.
Please advise.

Hi, yes, they sent me an email that is on the website currently. It wasn't anything different, but it seems like they would have sent out dates, location and times for auditions already? I am looking at Atlanta or Orlando to audition. Any news yet?

Hey there! I guess I'm right there with you. I logged in early, sent my video in early November, and got the same email. You'd think with the writer's strike they would be moving. But then they must get a ton of submissions to go through, too.. I'm in the Los Angeles market. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon! Let me know if you hear anything! I'll do the same!

One of the other "band mom's" thought they started right after American Idol finished .. so we thought/hoped they would start open calls in January since that is when Idol starts, but who knows ?? LOL ..

Yes, you can be in a group, because there were the groups, southern girl and the glamazons, they were all singing groups of 3 on season 2.

No, they have open call auditions. They haven't let the public know about it yet. Go to America's got talent homepage and register ur info on the right box where you put ur info, and they'll send you the audition dates when they planned them. But watch out, I heard they were this month, but it's probably not true. You can try to look them up but they aren't anywhere. You could always try...

A friend of mine got an email from her talent agent with dates for the Charlotte auditions. Not sure if those are tentative dates, or if talent agents are getting the word ahead of time. Also when you google season 3 2008 auditions several things come up for Florida being held in January. I'm curious if only people who have sent in the online application and applied to audition can attend, or if when they post the dates, still anyone can go. It is very unclear...don't ya think.

Its for my daugther and we already sent the online application. We were wanting to attend the Nashville auditions but haven't heard anything. Thanks for replying.

I do not see why they would keep the audition dates quiet. They have never had good turn out for these auditions. The lines are not that bad, and move very well.

I hope it is ok that I didn't do the online application. When I first logged on this summer, they only requested an email address and had the information to mail in everything. I had applications filled out by everyone in our group, included a video, and fedexed it to the address listed.

This week's Entertainment Weekly lists shows for the new season through April, and they had nothing on AGT. But, I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm sure things are being shifted around quite a bit with the writer's strike.

It's nice we have a group here that will let us all know if we hear anything !

Mapquest the location...when you get there, you will see the line outside the building. They would only have it at a large convention type motel. You'll find it.

I have auditioned for American Idol where you have to arrive super early and then you wait all day to audition, and you may never even get to audition in front of the actual judges. Does anyone know if this is the case with America's Got Talent? How many days do the auditions last? Are their call backs?

I was pretty much wondering the same thing. How long does it take? Does it just take one day or is it longer?

I'm new. Does anyone know if the audition process is one day? I know American Idol stretched it out. I am auditioning from out of state and need to know how long I may have to stay. Also, does everyone get the email that says where the cities are? I did, but I was wondering if they even screened our stuff at all or if it is truly an open casting. Anywho, hi everyone!
