Full Version: I just watched best of 06-07

I just watched the best of 06-07. How could a "best of" show be that bad? Comedy should make you laugh........or at least someone in the room. Why is Amy Poehler on the show still? Why is Keenan whoever on the show? Is the problem that no good comedians want to be on the show now? Cant Lorne pay more money to get better talent? I have been a huge fan for as long as the show has been on. I love the show when its good, and even when it was just kinda good. Now it has just deteriorated to highschool amateur hour. I hope they can get some better comedic actors this coming year, and more importantly some good writers. I was so bored by the best of compilation that I had to get on this message board to vent.Keep Armisen, Forte, Rudolph, and definitely Hammond. Develop Samberg and use him more. I would keep Meyers, but maybe not as headwriter. I want the show to be great again.
Thank You

I liked it.

I liked it.

Are you Amy Poehler? I am just curious if you liked the whole compilation or just part of it.
Maybe the show was only unfunny out here in California. We do like our comedy funny out here.!

Apparently Cali likes comedy on the old and tired side too. Hammond has to stay? Didn't get enough of him during the previous 12 seasons?

I started watching the 'Best of 06/07' last night but switched off after 20 minutes. Not because it wasn't funny. It wasn't great for sure, but there were some really good sketches in there (I especially like Will's locker room dance!). My problem was, I was simply bored. This was the third or fourth time I'd seen some of them. I didn't tune in last week, but on the SNL homepage, this same show was also broadcast last week. Can anyone confirm this?

I have to say I am disappointed that SNL repeats so much. Would it have killed them to make a 'second best of'? I realise that they repeat every show of a series, which is fair enough as it gives us all a chance to catch the ones they missed or tune in again for a particularly good one, but I just wish they could think of a way to enliven some of these best-of repeats. Some backstage stuff would be fun, I would love to see the tape of the first time Will tried to do his dance - I bet the other guys were cracking up.

Anyone else 'Bored with the Best-ofs'?

PS. Finally got round to seeing Blades of Glory last weekend. Loved it! Will Ferrell is just an inherently funny man, no matter what he's saying or doing.

You were not seeing double, it was the same show. In SNL's defense, they have the resources necessary online to watch any selected sketches and backstage footage. SNL has to have time to regroup. You're asking a bit much for these people who rigorously work throughout a week to produce a one live show. This is no MadTV where everything is taped. They give us twenty-something live shows, so it's nothing to get irritated over. SNL allows any person who's missed a show to at least see it twice. Don't worry it'll be back live on September 29.

I liked the SNL 06-07 this lime and I'm glad they added the penelope episode frome the Molly Shannon one. Did they also add the Maya Singing one? And to

Wavehead I think Amy Poehler is Hilarious and Kenan deffinately has his moments too.

so do you think the Starbucks one will be any different?

Whenever I see Poehler smirking at the camera doing her smug, look-at-me-I'm-on-SNL face, I think back to Michael O'Donahue and his desire to plunge a thousand steel needles with very sharp points into his eyes.

Lorne needs to get back to the Midwest to find some new blood. I always wondered why he never sought out Rich Kronfeld from Mpls.

That's either the simplest, most direct example of sarcasm ever witnessed on the internet, or the second best celebrity appearance on an online forum, right after Bruce Willis' appearance on the Ain't It Cool News Board.

...I'm just too tired to tell which.
