I don't normally do threads on this board, but on Saturday while going to the super market early in the morning, I happen to noticed that on the front cover of Soap Opera Digest it said that EJ will get killed off on Days, at least something to that effect. Is there any truth to this? I wondering because I try going on the soap opera digest online site, but haven't seen any news on this front, so I wondering if anybody saw what I saw. I would hate that Days lost a talented actor in James Scott.

No, it is not true. The EJ Dies cover was just referring to a spoiler about him almost dying after being electrocuted trying to save himself and Sami.

I am a little nervous that he really is going to be killed off. I saw on Soap Central spoilers for down the road that "EJ meets a foul end". This is after the spoiler about him getting knocked out in the Sauna. All I know is if EJ is gone then I am gone.

Maybe someone out there can clear up this one for me! A friend of mine said that she had heard that James Scott was leaving the show because his character EJ was being killed off. I don't know about you guys, but I think that would be a waste! His scenes with Ali are steamy & his with Joe are heartfelt. If any of you has heard anything different, let me know! Thanks!

I'll be the first to say that things aren't always what they seem... but these spoilers do seem to keep cropping up....

Ugh...this again! No offense to OP though, because lots of information gets buried inside the threads or lost from the first page.

Lots of speculation and rumor flying out there, but James Scott told his fans personally at a recent charity event that he/EJ is not going anywhere. I am inclined to take his word over any other source.

I also think it is just a rumor. And being a Lumi fan, I am not going to be biased. lol I like him as an actor and I would love to see him stick around. I really do think these are rumors. Just as there are rumors of Bryan/Lucas leaving, especially when he was in the freezer truck. He isn't going anywhere either. I love both actors and hope they are around for a long time.

I don't think we ever really know what is happening w/ the cast. He could be killed off, and he could be on the show for a very long time. I think JS is a really good actor and I would never root for someone to get fired. I think he plays a great evil Dimera! (however I would love for Elvis J to leave Lumi alone!) I think we will all just have to wait and see what TPTB have in store for us...

Exactly IMiss. The character is fantastic and James' acting is top notch and lately, they've been giving his character more in depth stuff to play so I have no doubt they see what a star they have in James and the only way that I can see him leaving the show is if he decided himself that he wanted to pursue other things but as of last weekend, he had no plans to pursue other things and according to sources, the line for an autograph from him was so long, not everyone got to meet him because they simply ran out of time.

Plans can always change and 18 months (the time left on his contract) is a long time but at the moment, I don't think any EJ fans need to worry.

James came out to tell us -- after he heard about the rumor -- came out SPECIFIALLY to tell us that he is NOT going anywhere -- that his contract is good for another 18 months and he hopes to stay on longer after that...

Yes, I think what JustinFan or Rose said was that James thinks that the rumour was based on 3 different conversations he had that were taken out of context. The first one was probably the one about him not being sure about continuing acting after he was finished on Days (which, as Sephora pointed out, could be 10 contract extensions from now ) and obviously, the EJ Dies on the cover of SOD fooled a lot of people though I'm not really sure why since it is pretty common for SOD to print a "Gotcha!" type cover. It is possible that James' mention of going to Mongolia in September got lumped in with the rumour (from what I understand from the interview he did though is that it is just a business trip to do a presentation).

In any case, TPTB do have the ability to hire and fire at will and an actor might not know right away but I just can't see them getting rid of James when he's pretty much the only reason a lot of people even tuned in at all over the past year and TPTB are well aware of how much support there is for EJami.

James' scenes with Joe and Thaao and Ali are amazing and they won't want to mess with chemistry like that (I'm talking actor chemistry not romantic chemistry).

James is the best thing to happen to Days in years...love or hate EJ, everyone is talking about his character so I agree with the above statements that TPTB are morons if they let him go.

Granted I was not at the fan event in MA last weekend but given that James made the extra effort to come out & clear up the rumor himself (based on what I've read from the ladies that were there), it would make me think that yes, this man knows enough about his career to know that he's sticking around for awhile, JMO.

So true, the people that don't like EJ or the threat of Ejami will jump on this "EJ Dies" bandwagon and run with it for all it's worth, even if they get a personal phone call from Ed Scott telling them otherwise.

james scott is here to stay, And on soap central I never read that EJ ws being kill off They said it was a cover story,But Sami give's Ej CPR.And THen lucas save him.

OK... so James said he's not going anywhere but that counts for nothing, so should I be expecting Bryan Datillo to get fired because an Internet rumor came out saying he was going to be sent packing and even if TPTB came out and said that's not the case TPTB could always change their minds? Should I chalk up Lumi fans' thoughts about Bryan's safety to just VERY HOPEFUL THINKING, too? Oh wait... on second thought, that rumor came from Bryan's own web site so we know there must not be any truth to it after TPTB denied it whereas this James leaving the show rumor came from people who aren't fans of him and was denied by James himself so it's got to be rock solid. Now I got it!

the writers would have to be pretty clueless to fire james or let him go against his wishes. he's one of the best actors on the show, whether you like his character or not. that said, i do feel james will move on when his contract is up. he is too good to stay with daytime tv for long.

James Scott is not going anywhere. And this isn't wishful thinking on my part that he isn't leaving. The only wishful thinking going on is him getting fired and his character of EJ getting killed off. These are not rumors, this came from a misleading cover in SOD, were it was cleared up that the quote came fro where is shocked and in unconscious. No where in there does it say EJ actually dies. And the two DiMera deaths were talked about seperately from the article containing the CPR. This is just something that has been febricated over and over again with false unknown sources and speculation this isnt even a rumor. This is someones imagination going into overdrive.

I for one{like a lot of other people who watch the show,for him only:well not just for him,but he has a lot to do with it!!!!!}ex:his scenes with Sami etc.I pray he is not going anywhere.For now I am going to take James Scott at his word.Of anyone else,he should know at least for now...Loved his scene today.He is so good with Sami.His ability to show feelings is amazing.Love ya James{EJ}....

That is exactly how I have been viewing this whole situation and rumors. I don't think James is going anywhere. Of course we will all just wait and see come November.

Do you know of a Dimera that has ever truely been "killed" off and stayed that way? I think we shall be seeing EJ for quite some time. Or at least I hope we do! He is some great eye candy.

I read on Soap Central that "EJ meets a foul end".... so that's why I posted that they have the rumor too.... Doesn't make it anything more than a rumor....

Someday, someone will explain to me why things turn into conspiracy theories on this board.... EJ was a villain on the show... might still be.... there are people who want villains to go away, others who don't... quite natural in the world of soaps... doesn't make anyone rooting for or against it a bad person.....

Probably Stefano's daughter Renee? That was before I was watching the show so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Dimeras don't die that easily so it doesn't surprise me that they would have EJ cheat death as well...how many times has Stefano "died" about 5?

I like James Scott also. I hated when the writers "killed" him off of All My Children. My only problem with his EJ character is that he needs to loosen up. He is always so straight and tall and formal. It must be a blast though to play a dual role on Days just like Allison.

Yes I read that too, but how many times has Soap central been wrong.
But even if they are right it could mean something else not neccesarily dead.
And Ive read through this whole thread and only some have mentioned Soap central and others say they have heard rumors about James leaving. So what does this all tie into? A rumor or lies that have been fabricated for somebody's wishful thinking.
EJ is a very popular character[obviously since there are like a bunch of threads just about him]. H e is the next generation for the DiMera family and the DeMiras never really go anywhere and they certainly do not die.

I think EJ getting electrocuted seems pretty foul. As far as theories go, why else would we be on this board in the first place if not to discuss things going on the the show (conspiracy or otherwise). It's the beauty of the first amendment James is a huge asset to Days to letting him go now wouldn't be a good move on their part. I guess we'll have to wait & see.

The recent headlines indicating EJ's death were misleading. He might have died "temporarily" while electrocuted in the steam room but I don't think he's one of the 2 Dimeras to die. No, I don't think it's Benji either.

I think Bo and Steve will finally get Andre the Terrible and it won't be jail time this time. I truly believe they know he'll get out and wreak havoc again so the only way to get rid of him will be to bump him off. Also, without Andre, and the vendetta being solved, Stefano really has no bering on the show anymore. I think he'll be out too, especially because he's needed John's kidney and Benji's liver in order to stay alive this long! He'll probably die of complications due to the transplants. That's very common in patients anyway. I know Bo's gonna fake Stefano's death but I think he'll really die soon after that.

Stefano and Andre expire. Not EJ. (Not an absolute truth or spoiler, just my theory. That makes more sense.)

What if it was actually Andre instead of Tony who gave Stephano a shot right after Steve "stabbed" him? He may have really just killed Stephano.

Suits the heck out of me! I hate EJ and I can't stand it that they have put EJ and Sami together. He RAPED her for God's sake! She is in love with Lucus and love does not disappear as easy as they think it does on soap operas. Lucus needs to come home and he and Sami need to get on with their love lives. Marlena is the person that gave Stefano the shot that put him in the catatonic state. I don't know about Stefano, but believe me when I say that I have been watching Days since I was a very little girl and there are plenty of bad guys to go around. Stefano has just gotten boring. Does anyone remember Orpheous? Now that was a BAD DUDE!!!
