I will be announcing 3 contests tomorrow, two written and one graphic.

Timeline:

Contest Announcement-Sept 6, 2007

Contest deadline- Sept 23, 2007 midnight EST

Contest voting begins - Sept 24, 2007 6pmEST

Contest voting ends - Sept 27, 2007 9amEST

Sounds like fun! I never got a chance to participate in the other contests, so hopefully I can manage to enter this one. I'm starting my last semester of night school tonight, so we'll see how much spare time I'll have.

1st contest- Poem-Anything goes(PG-13)

69 word poem on your favorite character in any rhythm.

2nd contest
- Opening scene-Anything goes!(PG-13)

create an opening scene of an episode, 50-65 lines of transcript, Here is an example of a transcript w/lines.

3rd contest- photoshop- Anything goes!(PG-13)**

My favorites of all the contests! Any kind of photo manipulation, either still or in motion(.gif/etc)

Please pm me your submissions, I will promise to inform you that I received your submission, just give me a few hours after you pm me with it to receive a reply.

I will create a voting poll on Sept 24, 2007 for all contests. All submissions will be labeled with letters (A, B...).

**If you create a photoshop submission, please try to upload the submission using www.tinypic.com instead of photobucket/etc as sometimes file names will say who's album it is from using signed in photo hosting sites. www.tinypic.com gives basic files names. This will keep photos' anonymous during the voting.

I will not be voting and any message board member is allowed to participate whether they are a moderator or not.

As of right now i have 1 entry for the photoshop contest. I entry for the poem contest. I do have 2 entries for the Opening Scenes contest.

So right now there will be one contest that will have voting available. If there are no more entries for the poem and photoshop contests, the entries so far will be declared the winners.

I will have voting for the opening scene contest up later this morning. I have been having trouble with my pm folders dry.gif

The poem and photoshop contest were canceled due to one entry per contest.

I guess with all the creative tasks given to Office Flans through DMI, there isn't a demand for creative message board contests anymore... sad.gif

Not entirely true.

I'd like to propose a set of Flanvid of the Year Awards. They would include (but might not be limited to):
1. Best Jim/Pam video
2. Best Couples video (excluding Jim/Pam)
3. Best use of music
4. Most creative storyline
5. Cutest video
6. S*xiest video
7. Funniest video
8. Best 'minor character' video
9. Most creative flanvid-iot (who you think does the best vids)

All videos would have to be posted to YouTube by a given date (say, December 15) to allow time for nominations. Nominated videos would have links posted in the videos/YouTube thread, with subthreads for each award, and folks could vote for their faves. To keep things manageable, no more than 10 vids could be nomiated in any class. No person can nominate more than 2 vids in any given class, to allow more people to have a say, and no one would be allowed to nominate their own work. Mods could monitor the submissions, which could be sent to them via PM.

Not so! The DMI game is fun, but doesn't really satisfy creatively. I hope we do have another message board contest again soon. After all, we may need many distractions with the upcoming drought.

I think we can reasonably conclude that TPTB have killed this one.
