If you know of ANYONE who is still experiencing login issues, please ask them to post here. We're allowing guests to post to this particular thread so that we can try to help people still unable to login.
Please specify in your post if you are having login issues with the message board, or my.NBC.com, and list the exact steps you are using as well as error messages you are receiving. It would also be helpful to include your (former) login user name and display name.

For the past several weeks, I've reported to Tech Support continuing issues with the following people logging in:
Fundle_Bundle - Member Number 251521
PB & JAM - member number 257374 (I realize that & won't be allowed - but whatever it takes to get that person to log in with that member number)
sammy57 is still being logged in as fancynewsammy/member number 271805 when she uses the e-mail associated with sammy57/member number 160727
Roy_Anderson – member number 114374
poorman'sMichaelScott – user 185944 (created a new poorman'sMichaelScott with a different e-mail and is posting under that account as member number 275617)
ElectricCity - member number 198477 is being logged on as FNElectricCity - I PM'd her for more info this morning
And as posted on another thread, I've also been reporting that member 220127 is logged into myNBC as BlueJeanBaby05, but is appearing as SweetChariots on the message boards. Fixed!

Thanks!

Yes, I have the same problem! I hope that it's taken care of eventually, I don't like having it say "newbie" next to my name, when I have been here over a year!! haha, It's a pride thing. hiiii!!! to anyone reading this thread.
okay, i am officially annoyed.
sorry, um, i got distracted. by the new emoticons. at least, they weren't here when i last was, which was admittedly a while ago...wow. i'm okay now, but just...wow. that first one is throwing a
tantrum, do you see...sorry, sorry, i'm over it.
anyway, i'm annoyed. i'd been avoiding the boards all summer because
they are the things that addictions are made of (yes, it is true---you guys are THAT awesome), and i had stuff to take care of. i didn't even do the QTP in the JP and PD, because...well, actually, that was just because i'm lazy. sorry, SB...there's still time to get to it, but now i'm out of practice in addition to being intimidated.
but NOW...NOW, when i want to get back into things by the time next season starts (i get a little tingle up my spine just typing those words) i get this error message when i try to log onto this new - and much more organized - setup:
http://snas.nbcuni.com/snasToken/accounts/...;statusCode=VNE and i'm just not up to figuring out how to deal with it right now. so, to make things easier, has anyone else had this particular problem? is there anything i can do? will i have to make a new account and become a newbie all over again????????
if anyone can help me, or just wants to get into an OT convo on the only thread on which i can post, feel free to reply
bono_and_god
Sep 11 2007, 02:40 PM
wait, it's not throwing a tantrum...it's laughing, isn't it? and i've seen that one before. i was just projecting my mood onto everything i saw, and i was convinced that we had a new and improved emoticon that could throw a hissy fit. which, by the way we should.
okay, i'm done with this subject.

Hi bono! Welcome back!

Try clearing your web browser's cookies and cache and then logging in again with your original member name. That sometimes fixes these issues. If that doesn't work, report back to this thread and an Admin or someone in Tech Support will have to give it a shot. Here's are some steps on
how to clear your cookies and cache if you don't know them already.

Hi bono! We missed you! Sorry you are having problems.

A couple of other things to keep in mind
after you follow Darth's sage advice above.

You now have to sign in using the e-mail you used when you registered. I just sent you a PM, so it is the e-mail account where you got the PM notification.
The e-mail field is case sensitive and I *can* tell you that it is looking for *your* address to be all lower case.
Other things that might still prevent you from logging in would be if for some reason the new database (where all the records were moved) does not like something about your user name or password. The underscores in your screen name might be giving the new database grief. Also, if your password was less than 6 characters, that still might create troubles.
Anywho, try it again following all the above advice - please post back here as yourself or a guest to let us know how that worked for you.
You represent half of Michael Scott's heroes. We need you back!

Hi!
I'm a member of the HEROES forum mostly, and I guess I could speak on behalf of a few users there whom I know have been having the same problem as I have been. I've tried emailing tech support, but have heard nothing back; neither have my friends.
When I try to logon with my email address and password, the site bounces me to a registration page, asking me to sign up with myNBC. No problem. I go through the registration form, only to have it tell me that my username and email address are already registered (no kidding!), so I just have to log in, and sends me right back to the sign-in page. From here it's a perpetual loop from sign-in page to registration page and back again, until one gets frustrated and clicks on another link to lurk again. But oh wait--I'm signed in at that point.
Lately, in the last day or two, more problems have been popping up. I've discovered that I can't edit my user profile on the boards at all. Avatar and sig file, yes, but birthdate, location, etc are locked out. I don't know when that happened, as I haven't wanted to update that since before the myNBC change came into effect. Is it because some part of the site isn't accepting my login after I bounced out of that registration/sign-in loop?
I've also encountered that error message that Bono_and_God found. And again, after ignoring it and moving on to another NBC page, I've found myself logged in after all. But unable to post anything. I've had to log out and log back in, sometimes several times, before that clears up. It's not the cookies--it's happened on several different computers and even after I've cleared out the cache.
I've noticed, especially on the HEROES board, that several "old" members aren't around lately. With all the sign-in problems that I know I and some others have been having, I've got to wonder if this is a more global problem and the others have just given up.
Any suggestions? Is there something I've missed with the myNBC signup that might help with any of this? If so, I'll be sure to spread the word!

Sep 13 2007, 05:28 PM
Okay. After browsing this forum a little bit more (which I should have done before, I apologize), I see that the user profile settings have been moved and/or shut off for upgrading. I can live with that.
But it leads me to another question--is there a different profile link for myNBC, separate from the boards? If so, I can't access it. None of the links from my.nbc.com work for me--it just keeps asking me to log in, then register, then log in, etc.
Thanks for all your work on this--it's been sticky, I understand.

Hi Mitch, there's probably an easier way but I get to my myNBC Profile from the Boards by clicking on My Controls then Edit Personal Profile Information. That link takes you to your Account Settings page in myNBC. You do not need to change anything on the Account Settings page if you don't want to. From there just click the Edit link next to myProfile and then you can change the information in your myNBC Profile. I hope that was easier to follow that it was to type out...

Thanks for the reply, DarthSchrute. That's one of the first things I tried. The Edit Personal Profile link from the My Controls page leads me back to a login screen, which puts me back into the perpetual login/register loop again. Basically I've tried every link I can find off of the boards and my.NBC.com, and all I can access is the boards themselves, along with my avatar and sig file. Everything else asks me to login again, and I can't get past that page to save myself. I've tried dumping the cache with the cookies, along with using different browsers, and different computers with different operating systems even! Nothing's working! Eek!

I'm having this exact problem. I am trying to change my profile info. I'm already logged in; I go to MY CONTROLS>EDIT PROFILE INFORMATION. Then it takes me to the MyNBC sign up page. And I never filled it out (but I've been a member for over a year now i think); so I try to...but in the field where it asks for my username; it won't let me enter anything.
I even tried to log into the MyNBC login page with my email and password, but it takes me right back to the sign up page. What am I supposed to do?

Hi Guys!
Just to confirm, you are going to the registration page (no info is filled in and it says "Join the NBC network! up at the top):

As opposed to the Account Settings (e-mail is filled in twice and your screen name - nothing in password):

I just ask b/c the Account Settings page looks *so* much like the registration page and people have PM'd me screen shots of the Account Settings page when they thought they were being asked to re-register.
I'm getting ready to send a big nag-o-gram this afternoon to Tech Support, so please confirm so I can get all the details correct.

Thanks so much, Officionada!
I took some screenshots of every step along the way, even got one of that nasty error message that's been popping up that people have been complaining about:
after trying to log in, it bounces me directly to this page:

When I fill it out, I get this page (I removed my email address so I could take the screenshot):

Following the "Please log in instead" link brings me right back to the login page, which then bounces me back to the same registration page, etc.
Sometimes, lately, instead of getting the registration page, I'll get this error message (which it seems like a bunch of users are getting):

If I ignore it and move on to another NBC page, it'll still show me as logged in, but I won't be allowed to post, see my profile, or anything else. To do so, I have to log out, and log back in, going through the registration/sign-in loop again.

When I sign it, it sends me to the registration page. When I fill in the registration info, it says I'm already registered and tells me to login. I login and it takes me back the registration page.
I'm getting nowhere on DunderMifflinInfinity due to this error.

I tried to access the new Office/RP game (

When I entered my email address however, I received the error message telling me I wasn't in the system. Considering that I'm a user moderator and NBCSkampy had said all are infor was transferred to the new database I'm confused as to why it isn't recognizing me. I very rarely have to log-in here, but when I have had to, it seems to work fine. Any suggestions on what might be going on?

Now that you've checked all the obvious things, I will contact Tech Support and have them put you on The List. Unfortunately, I've had some people on The List since early August.

A few get fixed right away, the others, it's like they've fallen into a black hole. I can try making a scene and giving a little speech (like Pam) or taking my shirt off (like Meredith) - maybe that will help?!

I put in an application for Dunder Mifflin Infinity and I am having the same problem I had on the boards in that it is using my log in name versus user name as my employee name and I do not want that log in name in the public domain.

Hey - for some reason I cant post anymore under my old login name. I had to sign up using a different login and email. My old one wont let me post at all - nothing I type shows up, so I keep getting a message saying my post must be longer than 3 characters.
Why??? I want my old name back.....

Hi - I can not log into the message boards. I put in my user name (email address) and password and click Login. It appears to be processing my request, but then I am again at the login screen. It's driving me crazy.
My old username was tmwiley
