As you know we have created several new subforums. I know some of you like it and some of you don't. The original intent was to create a more cohesive atmosphere for everyone to post in. We want this board to be a fun and happy place to post. So, in theory, the idea of sub-forums is great...in actual practice, I've found it somewhat difficult to navigate, especially having to jump from forum to forum...so my thoughts are to keep the sub forums, but to condense the number of sub forums some what. The forums would look something like this.

The VETS (All things John, Marlenna, Bo, Hope, Steve, Kayla, Roman, Kate, Billie, Abe, Lexi, Stefano, Tony, Anna, Victor, Caroline, Shawn Sr, Alice, Maggie, etc. and the actors who portray them)

Lumiland (All things Lumi - Lucas, Sami, The Roberts Family, Bryan, Ali...etc.)

EJamination (All things Ejami - EJ, Sami, James, Ali...etc)

I think having all seperate forums for characters and actors and couples is a bit too many places to have to hunt for threads...

Anyway... I'm open to suggestions if you have any regarding the additional forums.

I've been thinking about this alot lately...I have no life...

But what about pinning the major threads at the top that people go to all the time...the SC, Lumi, Shelle, and etc at the top with all the other mostly read threads...then open the bottom up to the new threads and the like....I don't like having to flip so much and don't get a chance to read all the new stuff.

the stuff is so categorized that I don't even venture into some stuff that I might have otherwised have.


and it took me two days to find the Skeleton Crew.

I think the idea that you all had is awesome, but it is harder to jump from forum to forum to find the threads that we like to go into.

I think there are way too many sub forums and i hardly find myself going to the main one.

IA with Jen. I like the idea of subforums, it's just harder to jump from forum to forum in order for us to find the threads we like. Less subforums would definitely be better.

And I like jerron's idea to pin the major threads at the top that people go to and post in all the time.

ITA with what everyone has said. I used to visit a lot of threads, but now I spend most of my time in the Shelle forum, a little bit in the Lumi forum, and Phimi when I can get there. I never see the main board. I chat in the skeleton crew thread at night, but that's the only OT chat thread I see anymore. I miss being able to thread hop with ease.

I also feel like we've lost the sense of community in all these sub forums. Now it feels like a bunch of isolated fanbases rather than a community of DOOL fans.

IMO the fewer sub forums the better.

Can I also make a personal request to have the Lumi and Shelle threads in the same sub forum? There are at least five us who like to chat regularly in both threads, and it would really be helpful to have them in the same forum.

I know many of you like the idea of having each couple with their own sub-forum, however, for those who post in multiple couple threads it is time consuming to have to jump from forum to forum. How would it be to have one forum that is specifically PRO threads for all couples/characters. Each couple or character would have one thread in the PRO forum... other threads or multiple threads about a particular couple or character would be merged automatically into its respective couple or character thread. Would this be a better solution for couples and characters? As it stands now, we have one forum for couples, fantasy couples and triangles that has about 15 sub-forums to jump through and we have a second forum specifically for characters/actors... I'd like to combine these some how and I think one forum for ALL PRO would be best, but I want to know what you guys think before I do that.

BTW...I changed a couple of the forums already this morning. You can now find OT, banners, chats and games in one central location... the Salem Place forum.

YES!! thanks twisted for making the PRO threads all into one subforum. It will be nice to have them all in one place again. I like this new idea alot!

This sounds good to me. One Pro subforum for ALL Pro threads. This way people who like Pro threads can find them easily and people who don't like Pro threads can avoid the subforum all together.

I love the latest change...please keep it like this.

I think the current state of the board is good. Everyone seems to like this format the best, so unless the board powers that be decide on further changes this is how it's going to stay.

I'm a little sad to hear this because I was hoping to get all the pro couple threads in one forum. This new format doesn't change anything for me, and it'll remain a huge pain to get from fan thread to fan thread.
