The contestants wore BMR calculators on their arms that counted the number of calories they were burning each day. Does anyone know where you can buy these? Or how much they cost?

I am not sure if they are considered BMR calculators..

Here is a link to info about it..

http://www.healthy-living-for-moms.com/dai...ie_counter.html

and here is more info from 24 hour fitness a major sponsor of the show.

http://www.bodybugg.com/

I understand you have to subscribe to services to use it.. so it may not be a one time purchase..
Not really sure... You should be able to get more info from the 2nd link especially.

Finding those 2 items using a quick search, yielded other hits indicating that their are several on Craigslist and ebay..

For those of you who were interested in my non-biased review of the body bugg, it is being delivered in installments on the Our Fitness Challenge website. If you want to discuss the articles or ask questions you can do so in the forums at that site.

I have been reading alot about this, and having my husband check it out, I have over 125 lbs to loose, and even though we watch what we eat, go to the gym and work with a personal trainer I still seem to never loose weight... at least I don't gain anymore either...

I look forward to your obesrvations before I make a purchase.

I've skimmed some of the pages on this topic and just wanted to add another thumbs up for the Body Bugg.. I've had mine for 2 weeks and I love it. Got it off ebay so didnt have to pay the full 400 bucks that people are whining on and on about being so pricey. When i first checked into just what the BL contestants were wearing my reaction to the cost was the same.. but after looking at the bugg I was more intrigued and decided to see if there were other ways to get one. 24 hour fitness has a sale on right now for $249.. $50 off their normal price, and as I said you can usually find new ones on Ebay for that or less. I would caution people on buying used ones though, as unless the seller gives you their acct name and PW you have to pay a higher initial set up fee instead of just continuing their subscription and changing the info to your own.

I know many people will always be skeptical about exercise/fitness/weightloss "gimmicks", and if you are looking for a device to strap on your arm that will lose the weight for you, then keep looking and good luck. But if you are willing to do a little work (food logging and working out), then the bodybugg is a usefull tool. My husband wants one now too lol.. hes jelous of mine smile.gif At least I dont have to worry bout what to get him for his birthday next month lol. If it was $400 bucks.. the cost might have held me back, but having gotten it for less.. I find it well worth it.. after all... i dont know about the rest of you but I know i have hand weights, exercise videos and dvds etc all gathering dust. Since buying the bugg the hand weights and my ablounger have come out of storage and I'm working out 4-5 days a week, partially because its fun to see the calories burned. Yes.. working out.. having FUN.. lol.. cant beat that smile.gif
