yes they also were one of the better couples thro i do feel that perhaps if it came to it they could have a jack and billie and have jennifer disappear with peter blake rather frankie who by the way did run off with eve. that way if the missy did even come back they could set the story up like she is the new marlena where the dimera's are concerned.

I don't think I would've liked Jennifer being the new Marlena, Marlena is Marlena. Plus I don't want Jennifer to be a damsel in distress, it was boring enough when she was kidnapped by Travis or whatever for Peter and Jack had to save her. No thanks!

No offense but i hate that idea. I'd rather see Jennifer recast than have any of that actually happen (not that I want to see a recast). I never again want to see J&J involved in any story that features the Dimera's.

I agree with what Tim said above me. Jennifer is NOT Marlena and she's not a damsel in distress. She doesn't need to be rescued by Jack.

The best thing would've been to have Jennifer leave when Missy left the show (not with Frankie though). That way Matt could've stayed on and the door would be left open if Missy had a change of heart.

Also Jack & Billie are better as friends. They should never be a couple.

I don't think I'd mind if Jennifer had something happen to her because of the Alamains, because they're part of her history. But the Dimeras would be too random, and remind me too much of Stephanie Cameron's Jennifer being bound and tied up for Peter Blake like some bad romance novel fantasy. I think the Dimeras are good for some stories but I don't like it when they become responsible for everything bad. I never felt they really fit with Jennifer.

If I were going to do it I would have had Jennifer leave Salem on her own, and then in the future we can find out she was kidnapped some time after leaving town. But I think I'd like it if she escaped on her own! No rescuing necessary, and no Dimera obsession. They already did that with Marlena, it'd be copying.

DOOL to me is not the same without them, no other couple have come close to what these two have put on our screen... the chemistry the love the bantering all of it was fantastic....

Yes!!They were awesome!!I miss them terribly.Jack was a flawed man as well..and now we treasure them as a supercouple.I wish they would come back!!

I miss the old Jack and Jennifer. It was awful the way tptb completely destroyed the couple back in the kill off Jack, pair pregment Jennifer up with muscle-bound but dull Patrick. They even had Patrick deliver Jennifer's baby! What for! It was obvious by then there was no chemistry between them.
At least we finally got the real Jack and Jennifer back for a bit before they left Salem. That was a nice nod to the long-time fans.

I don't know how I missed this thread! Jack and Jenn are my #1 soap couple of all time. I miss them terribly! It doesn't look like Missy has any intention of returning, so I doubt we'll ever see them together onscreen again.

You never know! Steve and Kayla returned after what, 17-18 years! Whoever thought that would happen! We can hope, can't we?

That's true! If S&K can come back after 16 years then Jack and Jennifer could come back too. I wish they were back now.

Gods I miss this couple! They have so much more chemistry than all the younger couples they keep foisting on us combined and I say that as somebody who is kind of pro-Stax in spite of the bad writing and incest (crazy, I know).

I have always loved Jack and Jen . . . I would really love to see them back on the show. They were so much fun to watch when they were first working together, and falling in love . . . Then later, all their adventures together always kept me glued to the set when they were on. I really miss them!

It made me really miss the pairing and the classic days of our lives.

Thanks for posting! It made me miss them even more. I've been watching some clips from their original run and I still think that they had one of the best love stories ever on Days. I wish they'd come back!

I LOVE Jack and Jen,they were so cute,Matthews Jack was the ONLY Jack I loved,no affense to the other actors,I wish they would come back,but with Higley writing its probably good there not on.

I was also a Jack and Jennifer fan with Missy and Matt portraying them. It would be fun to see them again.

I'm so nostalgic for the old Days of Our Lives. With the dwindling audience for daytime and the bad economy we are loosing our baby boomer actors. They keep killing off the cast. Even the vets that are on are given all sorts of ailments. Lung cancer etc.

I still miss J&J and don't think Days has been the same since they left (at least not for me).

Not that I think it's very likely but, I'd love to see them back and given a great storyline - especially after the despicable way they were treated in their last return.

For some reason, head writer James F. Reilly did not like Mathew Ashford's Jack and wrote him off the show in 1993 when he took over DOOL. He replaced him with later with Mark Valley's Jack.

Years later, Ashford was back on Day's as Jack when Reilly was re-hired as head writer in Aug 2003. By Oct 2003 Jack was the first 'victim' of the serial killer storyline! Replaced with muscle bound himbo Patrick! Jennifer, pregnant and mourning her murdered husband was supposed to fall in love with this guy. Ugg! The premise was horrible to start with, not to mention there was absolutely NO chemistry between Jennifer and Patrick!

Even when the big reveal that the murdered Salemites were in Melaswen, Jack was seen only here and there. When Jennifer and company made it to the island, they gave a glimpse of Jack in Indianna Jones outfit - I thought that was great. But that was the only glimse. They had Patrick deliver Jennifer's baby! Stupid!

They only got justice with Reilly was fired in Aug 06, and Jack and Jennifer left in Sept of 06. They gave us a little of the old Nick and Nora Charles Jack and Jennifer and they still had the comic timing and chemistry from years ago. Thats what they could of been doing, instead of this never ending misery of a storyline! Ending with a great scene of all the Horton's with Alice gathered to send them out the door to the airport. Someone else must have written them off.
