'HEROES' RETURNS AS MONDAY'S #1 SHOW IN ADULTS 18-49
Published: September 25, 2007

SECOND-SEASON DEBUT OF 'HEROES' TOPS ITS YEAR-AGO SERIES PREMIERE BY 10 PERCENT IN 18-49

BURBANK, Calif. – September 25, 2007 – The second-season debut of "Heroes" was Monday night's #1 show in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, according to preliminary "fast affiliate-based" "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. In the key 18-49 category, the season debut of "Heroes" jumped 10 percent above the show's series premiere last year on September 25, 2006.

Last night at 9 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (6.5 rating, 15 share in adults 18-49, 14.1 million viewers overall) returned as the night's #1 program in adults 18-49, topping such competition as ABC's season premiere of "Dancing With the Stars," CBS' season premieres of "Two and a Half Men" and "CSI: Miami" and Fox's "Prison Break."

"Heroes" delivered the highest 18-49 rating for any entertainment telecast on any network since the season finale of Fox's "House" on May 29.

"Heroes" won both its half-hours in adults 18-49, topping the final half-hour of "Dancing With the Stars" from 9-9:30 p.m. ET. Among adults 18-34, "Heroes" doubled its closest competition (7.3 vs. a 3.6 for ABC's "Dancing"/"Bachelor" combo). Among men 18-34, "Heroes" tripled its closest competitor (7.8 vs. a 2.5 for CBS's comedies).

This marks the top-scoring episode of "Heroes" in both 18-49 and total viewers since March 5. Versus its year-ago series-debut 18-49 results (a 5.9/14 on September 25, 2006), "Heroes" grew by 10 percent.

NBC AND NISSAN EXTEND PARTNERSHIP WITH 'NBC PREMIERE WEEK NISSAN ROGUE GIVEAWAY' — FIVE NISSAN ROGUES WILL BE GIVEN AWAY EACH NIGHT DURING PREMIERE WEEK STARTING SEPTEMBER 24
Published: September 19, 2007

BURBANK, Calif. — September 19, 2007 – NBC and Nissan have expanded their partnership in launching the hit series "Heroes" with a unique multi-platform, interactive promotion that will encompass all five nights of NBC's premiere week beginning Monday, September 24. Each night (Monday-Friday, Sept. 24-28), NBC will be giving away a 2008 collector's edition Nissan Rogue SL signed by "Heroes" creator Tim Kring.

"We already have an incredible partnership with Nissan on 'Heroes' and were looking for ways to expand into premiere week," said Barbara Blangiardi, Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing & Content Innovation. "The Rogue Giveaway is a great example of a partnership that works on multiple levels. It's an interactive promotion using an innovative pod buster format that drives audiences to our shows and the targeted commercial breaks. It also offers Nissan a showcase for their new car on both our broadcast and online platforms in a way that deepens their engagement with Heroes fans, but expands to other audiences as well."

"Giving away a car each night during premiere week also revs up the excitement for our new fall line-up," said John Miller, Chief Marketing Officer, NBC Universal Television Group. "Nissan has been a great partner, and we are thrilled that together we can offer up brand new Rogues to five lucky families."

"Nissan's partnership with NBC has been a remarkable platform that has engaged consumers by building key brand awareness on many levels," says Steve Kerho, director of interactive media, Nissan North America. "Being able to give away all-new 2008 Nissan Rogues to passionate viewers gives us yet another way to connect. The success of this program is a testament to what you can create when traditional and interactive media pull together and tear down conventional silos."

Starting in the 8 p.m. hour, NBC will air a custom snipe alerting viewers of their chance to win the car as it "drives" across the screen. During the 9 p.m. hour, viewers will watch for a pod buster promo spot which introduces a trivia question about the show they are watching — "Heroes" (Monday), "The Biggest Loser" (Tuesday), "Bionic Woman" (Wednesday), "The Office" (Thursday) and "Las Vegas" (Friday). Viewers will be instructed to go online to www.nbc.com/nissan to answer the question and enter for a chance to win the car.

The Rogue giveaway will also be promoted in TV spots and in print and radio advertising. Each pod buster trivia question will be immediately followed by a Nissan commercial. In addition, Nissan is sponsoring the season premiere of "Heroes," (Monday, September 24, 9-10 p.m. ET), with limited commercial interruption. The Rogue will be featured in the premiere episode.

DEL REY TO PUBLISH NOVEL 'HEROES: SAVING CHARLIE,' BASED ON NBC'S EMMY AND GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATED HIT SERIES HEROES AND ITS JAPANESE TIME TRAVELER 'HIRO'
Published: September 18, 2007

NEW YORK -- September 18, 2007 -- Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group, announced plans to publish a novel based on NBC's Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Heroes. HEROES: SAVING CHARLIE (Del Rey Hardcover; $23.95; on sale December 26, 2007) by Aury Wallington will be an original novel based on the characters Hiro Nakamura (Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated Masi Oka) and Charlie (Jayma Mays), created by executive producer/creator Tim Kring. It is developed through a licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group.

"One of the more memorable relationships in Season One was Hiro's first love, the waitress Charlie. We were as smitten as Hiro by that story and seized the chance to tell the full adventure of Hiro's six months in the past. Aury Wallington was hand picked by the writers of the show for her brilliant voice for these characters. The novel is a welcome addition to the Heroes family," said Tim Kring, creator-executive producer, "Heroes."

The novel—written with the full cooperation and consultation of the show's creators—will tell the story of Japanese office worker Hiro, who, through the use of his ability to pierce the space-time continuum and manipulate time, bravely catapults himself into the past to save Charlie, a small-town Texas waitress with an extraordinary memory, from being brutally murdered by super-powered serial killer Sylar (Zachary Quinto). While fans of the television series were given only a brief glimpse into Hiro and Charlie's relationship as it grew into love over six time-changing months, but their history is told here with the depth and insight that only a novel will allow.

NBC should open a channel at Joost (like CBS did), so Heroes could be offered worldwide on the Internet every Sunday after the broadcast on the network.

The ways which people "wacth tv" nowadays are very different. For example, I think it would be great to watch Heroes on my mp4 on my way to, ahhh, anywhere.

ABOUT THE SHOW
From creator/writer Tim Kring (NBC's "Crossing Jordan") comes the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated "Heroes," an epic drama that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. In its first season, "Heroes" was honored with a People's Choice Award, an AFI Award, a Multicultural Prism Award and this year's TV Land Future Classic Award and the TV Critics Association Awards' Outstanding Program of the Year, as well as nominations at the Golden Globe Awards, NAACP Image Awards, WGA Awards and Satellite Awards.

After a total eclipse casts its shadow across the globe, seemingly calling forth a multitude of everyday men and women with special powers, Dr. Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy, "Blind Guy Driving"), a genetics professor from India, continues to champion his father's theory that there are people with extraordinary abilities living among us. Claire Bennet, an indestructible high school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere, "Bring it On: All or Nothing"), must hide her ability from her peers while working to maintain her relationship with her father (Jack Coleman, "Dynasty"), a man of mystery who has a keen interest in people like her. Niki Sanders, a Las Vegas single mother (Ali Larter, "Final Destination") with astonishing strength – and a dangerous, amoral mirror image (Jessica Sanders) – struggles to support and protect her young son Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey, "My Wife & Kids"), a genius who can interact with electronic machinery through touch. Matt Parkman, a police detective (Greg Grunberg, "Alias") from Los Angeles, attempts to put his ability to hear the thoughts of others to good use. In Japan, Hiro Nakamura's (Masi Oka, NBC's "Scrubs") ability to pierce the space-time continuum and manipulate time has empowered him to change the future, as he embarks on wild adventures with his best friend Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee, "Shutter"). Nathan Petrelli, a congressional hopeful (Adrian Pasdar, "Judging Amy") with the ability to fly, has his dreams dashed after failing to stop his younger brother Peter (Milo Ventimiglia, "Rocky Balboa"), a nurse with the ability to absorb the powers of others, from exploding over the New York City skyline. And after this violent clash in New York, the fate of Sylar, a manipulative serial killer (Zachary Quinto, "24") dedicated to violently collecting the extraordinary talents of special people, is unknown. Meanwhile, in the Dominican Republic, a young woman named Maya Herrera (Dania Ramirez, "The Sopranos") and her twin brother, plagued by her threatening ability, attempt to make the dangerous crossing to the United States in search of help. And Monica Dawson, another young woman (Dana Davis, "The Nine") with newfound special abilities, would give up everything to help the people around her. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world...

Joining Kring as executive producer are Dennis Hammer (NBC's "Crossing Jordan"), Allan Arkush (NBC's "Crossing Jordan") and Greg Beeman ("Smallville"). The drama is produced by Universal Media Studios in association with Tailwind Productions.
