I have been a fan of Sarah Shahi's work for a while now. She has shown she can play both comedic and dramatic roles. I really am intrigued by her chacter on Life. It has only be 2 shows but there seems to be a lot more going on with Dani Reese than shows on the surface. I hope the show lets Sarah develop the character. I hope to see more of what is going on in her head. Like her past drug addiction and why she seems to like "punishing' herself with sleeping with nameless men. Should be interesting. I think Sarah is doing a fantastic job and that she may have found the role that will introduce her talent to more people. I love the relationship between her and Crews.

Sarah Shahi is amazing in this role. While I do miss her on the L Word and on Teachers, I love her in this role.

Bah I think she's typecast in your mind. Don't kill her career with such judgements. Personally I think her acting is off the charts. She's dead on with every bit of body language.

I hope with her performance in Life and especially after last nights episode "Powerless" that people will start to realize Sarah is not just beautiful but a very talented actress. I am guilty as everyone else thinking she is sexy but there is so much more to her. Let's hope NBC keeps the show going so more people will become aware of her talent in somewhat comedic and well as emotionally charged scenes.

This chick can really act, and it's great to see she finally got a lead roll in a show! Now to just keep it on the air. Sarah Shahi is so unbelievably HOT...too bad you don't get to see more of this in Life, guess you just have to watch old clips of Shane and Carmen on L Word. Those 2 had AMAZING chemistry and missed by L Word fans worldwide. Bring back SHARMEN!!! lol

Since watching the first episode of the show I've fallen in love with Sarah Shahi's character and now consider myself a full fledged fan.

I'm sure she did well in other roles but I prefer seeing Sarah Shahi in more meatier roles since clearly she has the chops to go the distance. She's been hampered enough by being typecast as a just a woman with a sexy body and I think it's fantastic that she was finally cast in a role where her acting can be seen.

Yes, she is hotttttt but I began watching the show for the plot that is very original. Someone mentioned about the shower scene with her and DL's character, good one! Best of all she is a fine actress and I look forward to seeing her when the show resumes.

Sarah Shahi has just announced that she's four months pregnant! I'm very happy for her, but I wonder how this development is going to affect the show. It's going to be hard to work her pregnancy into the show...another reason why I now think Life won't be renewed for another season

Life and L Word star Sarah Shahi is having a baby!

Life show runner Rand Ravich tells me, "Sarah Shahi is pregnant.
She's about four months pregnant." (Shahi's reps have not replied to
a request for confirmation.)

Now, this means only good things for Sarah (congratulations, girl!),
but what does this mean for Dani Reese and her partner Charlie Crews
(Damian Lewis) on one of the best shows on television, NBC's cult hit
Life?

Rand spills that Sarah's pregnancy means big changes for the show,
including a separation for the partners and a new job for Reese...

In the coming eps, Dani Reese joins an FBI-LAPD joint task force on
crime and is attached to that unit for the time being, in part to
help moderate the show's demands on Sarah while she's pregnant.

Rand says, "[Sarah's pregnancy] is a challenge and a…challenge.
Episodic television is a grueling schedule, and Sarah and Damian were
practically in every scene together, and we certainly can't expect
Sarah to work 15-hour days...So we were able to carve Sarah out of
the main story a little bit—keeping her always related to Crews and
always involved with Crews—and just give her some relief as well."

Apparently the pregnancy coincided nicely with a schism that they
were already planning between Crews and Reese. Says Rand, "We wanted
to diverge their stories somewhat, to separate them geographically to
make them start doubting each other, tear them apart somewhat. And
then hopefully, if they can work it out, [we can] bring them back
together in a stronger fashion."

But who will be Crews' partner while Reese is gone? I've got the dish

Have to agree with you on that. Certainly got my attention. Got acting skills too. Love her in this role. Didn't even know about her in "The L word". Stumbled across the stripper footage on youtube from that movie she did... Can't remember the title....

...but she can't hold her gun properly, EVER! Finger on the trigger guard, tip pointing down to shoot the ground long before it would hit someone else...what's the deal? I thought they trained these actors/actresses up on that kind of thing. I realize Lewis has tons of experience from Band of Brothers, but you'd think that the props staff or whoever covers those kinds of details would give Shahi some pointers.

I think I saw her belly showing a little bit this last episode ("Hit Me"), even with the puffy shirt. I'm sooo glad the pregnancy isn't going to be written into the show! I wouldn't have been able to stand it if that baby had been Tidwell's. *shudder*

she does look good on this show except the hair, which just changed 2-25-09 in this new ep.
she cut it and now it doesnt have the weird curls that made her hair look like she never brushed it.
her and crews are great as partners but I dont think there is any chemistry with the captain.

I was disappointed to see her change her hair style (sorry Sarah), I loved her curls but I admit, the new style is probably more fitting to the character.

Will miss not seeing Dani as much as she takes time with the baby but interesting story line with the FBI opp - errr, interogation/set-up. Will be interesting to see where that one goes.

the last new episode of life had dani reese going on a special assignment with the FBI. looked as though SARAH was being covered up more than usual (as if they are trying to hide a growing belly). her hairstyle was shorter (as if she is trying to make her life easier during pregnancy). hope she won't be gone from the episodes for too long, i love this show, and the interaction between her character and CRUISE is what makes the show for me. if sarah is pregnant, i hope it all goes well, and she has a healthy baby. she has the same first name as my mom, and i wish her well.

I think you mean the "chemistry between Sarah and Damian" right? Sarah Shahi is pregnant and so she is "on loan" to an FBI task force for the rest of this season. She will appear briefly in all of the rest of the episodes this season but she'll be sitting down or in close-up, etc.

So does that mean Sarah will come back later and Gabrielle will leave? I hope so. She's already an established actor. I realize Damien sort of is too but most in America weren't aware of him. I hate that NBC is bringing in already 'working' actors for their shows (ahem - the new guys on Law & Order). Does anyone else agree?

She's working less on the show because she's pregnant, so they have to resort to keep her sitting behind the desks a lot to hide her belly. Pregnancy can be rather difficult to work long hour days.

I love her on this show, but whoever said they didn't like her on the L word is crazy!!! I hated that she left that show. I wish her all the best with her pregnancy and hope Life comes back for another season. Fingers Crossed!!!!!

Sarah Shahi must be the most beautiful woman on TV and as an actress she's sensitive and subtle (I mean that as high praise). I have a thing for redheads, so Damian Lewis does it for me, but I'm not sure I'd keep tuning in without Sarah. That said, I like Gabrielle Union - another spectacularly beautiful woman, with snap and wit to her acting. I hope Gabrielle brings something fresh to the show because except for the past two episodes I've felt Season 2 was comparatively weak. (Oh, honorable mention to Helen McCrory, who has an extraordinary, fascinating face and is doing something above and beyond to make her character compelling.)

One thing I have to say - does seem the casting on this show deliberately goes for a range of ethnic types. That call centre girl in India - Deepa? - was brilliant. I've also been intrigued to see a wider than usual range of body shapes and sizes. Sorry to harp on about female physical attributes, but I like to see curvy - plus size - women presented as sexual, and I love that that female FBI interrogator looks like an earth mother but comes off like gestapo.

I completely agree with everything Dreamtime wrote - from the comments on Sarah, to the actors, to the diversity of the characters (very well said, Dreamtime). And that's why this show is so great. It's not another dime-a-dozen cop show.

Yeah, me too, garanger. Sarah Shahi is an amazing actor and I don't think she gets enough credit. Watching the show (especially season one), I always find myself watching for Reese's reactions to Crews. Her facial expressions are priceless! *sigh* I miss the Dani/Charlie dynamic. Sarah needs to come back. We need season three of Life! Pleeeease?
