Early details are hinting that as far as timing goes the events in this episode and the one for the end of Season 13, "The Honeymoon's Over," will take place on the same day.

No Ray mentioned in the spoilers I read... wonder if that means he really is leaving.

Is it possible that it isn't the season finale? Because I could remember hearing they were going to make 25 episodes this season.

It's definitely the finale. NBC said there were 6 episodes left; 17 + 6 is 23. So, ep. 23 is the finale. The only hope we have is that Ray just isn't really IN the season premiere, for whatever reason. Rather than leaving the show all together.

They are supposedly filming the first two episodes of Season 14 before filming closes for the summer, if that's true that would make 25.

Oh, okay. Thank you. I remember people talking before the season started because they thought this being the 13th season, that the show would be doomed. I think it was actually a pretty good season. With what I read about the premiere, it seems really good! I can not wait!

It's possible, but, she isn't credted in the photos on NBC Universal Media Village so I couldn't guarantee it. Guess we'll have to wait for the episode to air to find out for sure.

09/27/2007 (10:01PM - 10:59PM) (Thursday): SEASON PREMIERE--MISSING IN ACTION- STANLEY TUCCI ("THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA") GUEST STARS—Abby (Maura Tierney), Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) and Morris (Scott Grimes) try to figure out how to handle Dr. Morretti's (guest star Stanley Tucci) strict new ER procedures. As the injured arrive at the ER from the anti-war rally, Gates (John Stamos) frantically tries to find out what happened to Neela (Parminder Nagra). Later, Gates takes matters into his own hands when he finds out that a patient was responsible for the explosion at the rally. Linda Cardellini also stars.

The first episode of the new season is history, let's hear your thoughts. I was pleased to see guest star Howard Hesseman make an appearance as the stoner ortho doc. Some of you may remember him from his previous role of Dr Johnny Fever on the series WKRP in Cinncinati.

Pretty good start to the season. I expected a little more fast paced, adrenaline pumping, heart-pounding excitement but it still had its moments.

Finally, someone really handed it to Gates. Way to go Moretti. I think I'm going to like this guy. That conversation about war he had with Abby really shows how fascinating a character he is.

Let me just say that I love the friendship and chemistry that Abby, Pratt, and Morris are building. Their plot against Moretti in the bar was classic. They play off each other real well.

Poor, poor Neela. She's been stomped on figuratively and literally. Will TPTB just give this girl a break for once?

That was more than tense enough for me thanks! I liked the episode but it didn't make humans seem very worthwhile, except maybe for Abby, Pratt, Morris.
Did anybody catch the name of the actor playing the firecracker guy? He looked SO familiar.

I loved the episode. TRAUMA IN THE ER, and thats the way its supposed to be. Over the past few seasons Scott Grimes character has really grown. He is an absolute laugh everytime....

Okay...please humor me here. I have not watched the show for two seasons now. But I am back....watched parts last night. (will finish today...joy of dvr).

One question: WHERE IS LUKA?

Is he off the show for good? Or just for a few weeks? They marry him and then he leaves????

Luka had to fly home to Croatia, his father is ill...Goran is only doing a limited number of episodes this season, but, he will be back at some point.

I thought the scene where they opened up Neela was a bit much...could anyone really live through something like that??

Yes people could live through that, it happens all the time, you do have a time limit however, and that was mentioned in the episode. Once you do that, you have 1 hour or its over.

Neela didn't seem so bad when she came in, they were talking to her and everything, then they had to sedate her.

I thought the episode was pretty good, Morretti seems really interesting. I am excited to see him on the show.

And as for roomies news, I think it looks pretty good for us. Why put the first scene during "Previously from ER" of Neela and Ray, then was it planned that there was a guy there with a double below the knee amputation? Remember Morris brought Pratt into a room, Pratt looked at the flaps, quick scene, but is it simbolic?

I'm afraid you are mistaken on that one Heather!!! I just watched the scene a few times again on my DVD recorder and that guy had both legs intact. There was no amputation. Sorry!!! However, I do agree with you that there is hope that we will get a happy ending. I do think they showed that hospital scene as an indicator that the roomie story will be continued later in the season.

In the season premiere, there was a scene with abby drinking a beer with morris and pratt at the bar across the street. This puzzled me becasue as a long time fan of "ER" I know abby is supposed to be a recovering alcoholic. So to see her having a drink makes me mad that the producers of the show felt they could just slip that in over on us long time fans of the show.

Actually, I think Abby was drinking ice water and not any type of alcohol. I just watched the scene a few times a minute ago and I suggest you do the same. Morris and Pratt had beer mugs and Abby had a glass full of water.

Abby goes to bars all the time with her friends, but always drinks water or soda. She's got a lot of self-restraint in that department.

My opinion of the season premiere: great, but not as terribly exciting as I had hoped (nothing could top season 13's premiere, of course). I just felt like we weren't left hanging on the edge enough.

I think I'm one of the only people who actually appreciated Gates' temper-tantrum towards the guy who set off the bomb. Honestly, that guy deserved to see every person he hurt. I'm glad the grandpa gave it to him in the end.

Tucci -- just wonderful.

The final scene where they're all sitting around waiting for Neela to wake up... priceless.

hi im from uk and i want to download the new episode of er ive tried the torrent sites but it just comes up with everything that has the initials er in and nothing comes up for emergency room or season 14. does anyone know where i can get the episode from?

I had a question. When lucien comes in to see neela when they first bring her in he says "neela" and she said something in response but I could not make out what it was. Does anyone know??!! Thank you

I do not remember hearing anything, but if she did, that is just going to make me angry as in the "honeymoon is over" Ray said Neela right after she kissed his neck, which would make it all very similar.
