The only thing that makes sense to me if that she may have accidentally killed or maimed someone. Anything else is just so far out of character. But then again...

Passions: Theresa poisons Gwen. Tabitha, desperate to get Endora back from the dark side, enlists Theresa's aide to get to Gwen. "Tabitha needs to come up with a way to be incognito in the hospital," explains Juliet Mills. "So she's in full diguise as a fortune teller and she remembers how gullible Theresa was all those years ago, believed everything. This time, she's going to try to persuade Theresa to pour an "anti-love" potion into Gwen's tea." Unbeknownst to Theresa, the potion is actually poison--not a mixture to end Gwen's love for Ethan. After consuimg the tainted liquor, Gwen gets "deathly ill". She nearly dies, in fact. Tabitha is just thrilled thinking it has all worked. However, the doctors have managed to save Gwen. Hopefully, theresa will be able to wiggle out of trouble. She confesses to Ethan that she's repsonsible for Gwen's condition, then goes on to tell Sam about the fortune-teller's potion. The men brush off theresa, thinking that Gwen most likely had a bad reaction to something she ate. A doctor informs them that the bottle they found and Gwen's cup tested positive for poison--and the assailant's fingerprints are on the bottle, just what the witch wanted. Tabitha's plot is meant to indict Theresa, as well as hurt Gwen.

Though flashbacks (in which Eva Tamargo's daughter Gaby Lemus plays a young Pilar), we learn that Pilar was raped by her friend Juanita's husband, Carlos, who was part of a crime family. Pilar ended up killing her in self defense. When the police arrived, a shoot-out ensued and the rest of Juanita's family was killed. Pilar’s sister is murdered!
Pilar’s bad luck continues this week when her sister is murdered in Mexico. Tabitha, who is desperately trying to bring Endora home by performing evil, invites Death to Harmony to pay the Dark Side’s ransom. Death then turns its sights on Pilar and Theresa. Kay tries to stop it, but then Pilar gets tragic news about her sister. She concludes that is was the work of Juanita, her former friend who’s sworn revenge on Pilar for having her family killed. Pilar realizes that Juanita truly means business. “It confirms her fear that this woman, Juanita, is capable of horrific things,” sighs Tamargo.

Luis gets Pretty pregnant. A desperate Luis and Pretty succumb to Alistair’s demands this week, and make love to buy their freedom. But not before Fancy and Sheridan get an eyeful. “Compared to giving up his life altogether for Marty like he had planned, having sex with Pretty isn’t so bad,” cracks Galen Gering. After much back-and-forth with Pretty, “Luis finally concludes, “Well, I might as well just do it and get it over with.’ Pretty agrees and is like, ‘Okay, how are we going to do this?’ Then she reveals to Luis that she’s never done this before,” winces Gering. Yup! Pretty is a virgin. “Luis totally freaks out,” declares Gering. “He says, ‘No way. I can’t do this. It’s completely wrong.’
Unbeknownst to Luis and Pretty, they’re “playing” to an audience. “Alistair transmits the whole thing to Fancy’s PDA, and Sheridan and Fancy see it. Then they miraculously appear in the dungeon, and Luis has to explain his way out of this one. Oh, my god, it’s brutal,” cringes Gering. Especially considering that Pretty is developing feelings for Luis. “He’s involved with Fancy, but now he’s got both her aunt and her sister in the mix,” reminds Gering. “Fancy accuses him or working his way through their family. She’s like, ’Do you want Ivy’s number next!?” Fancy may hang up on Luis for good once she learns that Luis and Pretty’s encounter will bear some Crane fruit. Talk about a first response.

Theresa tells all to Little Ethan. As baby Jonathan’s condition worsens, Gwen realizes that using LE as Jonathan’s partial liver donor could be her son’s only hope of survival. Theresa asks LE if he’d be willing to help out a sick Jonathan, and confesses to her son that Ethan, not Julian, is his father. LE bravely agrees to have the surgery, and Gwen considers ‘fessing up to Ethan about the boy’s paternity. However, Rebecca worries that if Gwen spills the beans, it will bring Ethan and Theresa together. “You’ve got to wonder how Ethan doesn’t know yet,” chuckles Eric Martsolf, “but Passions is having fun keeping him from knowing.” Indeed, LE calls him “Daddy” “But Ethan doesn’t think he means it literally”, the actor explains. “He thinks Theresa told LE that if Jonathan dies, he can be like a son to ‘Uncle’ Ethan. How is life treating you in the work of Directv? Things have been great. We’re actually getting back to our roots with the show. We’re doing some absolutely ridiculous, nutty things. We’re going back to witchcraft and other insane storylines. We’re having a lot of fun. Directv has loosened things up and allowed us to run free.
Several of your co-stars have expressed similar sentiments. It sounds like you all feel re-energized from the jump? We thought we were done. But then all of a sudden, we were picked up and given a new lease on life.
How has the fan feedback been? Quite honestly, a lot of the fans were perturbed that they couldn’t watch us anymore because they didn’t have Directc. But Directv subscriptions have gone through the roof since last year, which is a great sign. Fans are finding out that Directv is a lot more accessible than they thought. So there are alot of way to get the show. They can also get it on the NBC web accessible for a nominal fee.
Have there been any changes to Passions from an acting or production standpoint? You’d think that our workload would be lessened, because we only do four episodes a week now, instead of five. We’re workin’ our buns off. I’ve spent more hours here than I ever did at NBC. It has a lot to do with the time it takes to shoot what we’re shooting now. We’re doing a lot of intricate things. Is there any way to find out how the show is really doing? I know the cast has to say they are doing great, but are the actual ratings numbers showing that?
If it's doing so well, why can't it be back on network TV where it belongs. They had their DirectTV sales already. With the fan base the show still seems to have they are fools to keep it off the air when whatever they have replacing it isn't even watched.
Gotta say I have lost interest in viewing NBC prime time shows since I can't see Passions. And I can't be the only one.
