A CARJACKING HOMICIDE HAS DETECTIVE CHARLIE CREWS AND DANI REESE ON THE HUNT – Crews (Damian Lewis) and Reese (Sarah Shahi) investigate a standard carjacking homicide involving a husband and wife. The case seems like a slam-dunk until they ask the husband to ID the suspected killer. The husband refuses to ID the suspect allowing him to walk free. Confused by this, Crews and Reese work to figure out what the husband is hiding. And, despite counsel from his lawyer Constance Griffiths (Brooke Langton), Crews pays a visit to the detective who oversaw his murder investigation. Adam Arkin and Robin Weigert also star.

Show Cast: Damian Lewis, Sarah Shahi, Adam Arkin, Brooke Langton, Robin Weigert, Brent Sexton

Can anyone tell me what kind of sunglasses Crews is wearing in the picture above (and in the most recent episode)?

Loved the scene at the end with the coyote.
And the way Charlie tilted his head.

Another really good episode.
Charlie and Dani are 3 for 3 on solving their cases.

I loved it that Dani lied for Charlie about the knife.

I also loved that he was straight foward, however the boss' reaction is what shocks me. I never expected her to let it go so easily. I would of expected a harder comming down on him.

However, I loved it like usual.

Raitings from last week and will the show go for all 14 Eps.?

The music for the car, that catchy techno song, anyone know?

That fat dude seemed to run really well -- I was impressed!

Maybe I'm missing something but I couldn't figure out why the ex-wife was protecting the girl so much? Wouldn't she at least appreciate that he's curious about his own case?

I liked that the partner lied too.

I'm wondering if he's going to have to choose later between solving his case and keeping the money/badge.

I thought the coyotes were kind of cute.

Very good episode tonight.

Its really funny, in the scene where they arrest the husband after he tells them that he gave his kids away, the bandage on his head switches sides for a moment.

Check it out.

My wife gets credit for spotting that one.

Let Her Go was perhaps a little lighter in mood than the previous two episodes... The punch lines Charlie landed - I'm the man - were good. The copying was cute. But there were moments that I did have to wince at - the conversion van trap just was a little over the top.

Absent was the skirt chasing of the previous two shows as well - which, well, was kind of welcome. Tip of the hat to the coyotes.

A few superficial highlights of hotness on Charlie's part:
1) Charlie's knife work - why did Dani have to take it away???
2) The kiss he gave his ex-wife was passionate and pointless - soooo hot... Now let's not ever see her again, yes?
3) When Charlie started choking back tears as he looked at the chain link fence... I got a little wet myself.

The Constance/Dani encounter with suggestions of girl on girl aggression, well, I'm firmly not in the fan column on that one. I'm on record as finding Constance kind of a chore to watch - I've decided she is just too smiley for me, and telling Charlie to be satisfied with the money, well, booooooooooooooooooo... The idea that the imploding Dani would scrap with Constance over Charlie, well, that's not moving female characters into strong and centered places.

I also have to say that I learned very, very little this evening about detective Ames, which was disappointing. If the encounters are limited because of the settlement, wasting precious opportunities flashing that unmade bed photo around is trying my patience. And yes, Charlie is clearly going to be looking for Rachel. The somewhat tedious set-up of his interest in finding her to ask what she remembers, well, I'm quick to follow where this was going from the last show. The bartender exchange did bolster my pet theory that there is some pending revelation so to speak about cop bars - bars run by cops, owned by cops - and the murder.

I was also extremely disappointed to return to an advertised Conspiracy Wall that is the same as it was before the show aired. Boo to that too.

I think the ex-wife feels really guitly about dumping Charlie, then later finding out he was innocent. She thought he was guilty, too. Now I think she's just trying to shove the past down deep inside of her and forget she was ever married to him, and that the muder ever happened. She's trying to move, on, but I don't think she's going to be successful at it. As for her protecting the little girl (Rachel, who now isn't so little anymore) I think she's trying to get Charlie to move on as well, and not be obsessed with the past.

As for Dani lying for him - when she met with the lieutenant that we hate last week, she wasn't falling for trash-talking Charlie to her. I think she knows something fishy is going on, and there's something fishy with what happened to her father as well. She finds herself a kindred spirit of Charlie's and although she may not like him very much just yet, I think she will come to find they have more in common than she thought. Also, since her dad was a cop, I think she comes from the cop school of thought where you ' always have your partner's back.' Commendable for her.

Also, at some point they will find out they are both sex addicts. This will lead to some introspection for both of them, to dig deeper and figure out why they do the things they do.

Charlie doesn't want her lying for him - he wants to be above board because he doesn't want anyone to have anything they can hang over his head. He trusts no one. Except maybe Ted.

That was heartbreaking. And let's say you need a fence and you have a lot of money - why a chain link???? Ted has no common sense or taste.

After last week's episode (Tear Asunder), I would have bet Lt. Davis was in on the plot to frame Charlie. But tonight's (Let Her Go) showed Davis in a slightly more sympathetic role. So, I suspect the writers have created scenarios just to keep us wavering and wondering. Well, it's working, since each week leaves me more and more interested and a heck of a lot more curious about the development of each character. Dani was much more attuned to Charlie this week, despite his unusual methods. Guess she is mellowing out already. Wonder will she eventually help him solve "his" case.

I hearted the episode very much, I was surprised of the agility of the large dude myself...I noticed a few editing slips as well, example: in the chase charlie has a gun but when he jumps the fence its gone and then when they pan back to him the gun is back! Oy! Anyways on a different note, I hate to sound like an annoying pain in the butt, but I noticed in the last scene when Charlie has the stare down with the cyote....HE IS NOT WEARING HIS SEATBELT!!!! mad.gif Whats up with that?! It's the law in California to always wear a seatbelt and he's a cop for crying out loud! Lets show America thats its okay to speed off with out wearing a seatbelt! Not cool y'all....I'm kinda passionate about the subject because someone very close died because they werent wearing a seatbelt and lets not even subliminally suggest that its okay to break the law and to get into that bad habit....On a lighter note....Why was Charlie speeding in/out of a mobile home park?...Did anyone else notice that?

Glad I'm not the only one.
I loved that intense look on Charlie's face when he was wielding the knife.

It seemed to me like Charlie was giving her that kiss as a sort of 'kiss-off'....but yeah, that was hot.
Charlie has this sort of smouldering intensity that we only get to see glimpses of.
And...if we have to see the ex-wife again, I hope we see her miserable with regret.

Yeah, that scene tugged at my heartstrings too.
Ted shoulda known that chain link would bring back bad memories for Charlie.
But then...Ted was only in prison for 2 years....compared to Charlie's 12 years.
I hope Ted's not doing anything risky with Charlie's money. dry.gif

Yep.
And she should feel guilty about that. Sounds like she dumped poor Charlie like a hot rock.

I think that they each use sex for different reasons...
Charlie, because has years of catching up to do, and because he's probably never been 'sought after' before....he seems amused by it, this interest in him that the girls display.
Dani, because she's numb from regrets and pressure, and just wants to feel something...and just escape thinking about anything for a little while.

I saw this as well. In fact it was the reason i came to the boards to see if there was more cases of this in the show. If these are clues for us or hints to some web game or something... i re watched the first 2 episodes and didnt see any other mistakes like this one.

I LOVED that scene when she took the knife away. The whole line about the blood oath was cracking me up. That and the sharpened toothbrush and light bulb full of bleach. Charlie looked amused. He also looked like he'd been caught cheating when his lawyer showed up. That was funny. Did you catch the smile on Reese's face when she was walking away? This episode sealed the deal for me that they like each other. She's awesome. I love their chemistry. Hopefully the show won't screw it up and have them get involved. But let's not get ahead of ourselvess smile.gif

2) The kiss he gave his ex-wife was passionate and pointless - soooo hot... Now let's not ever see her again, yes?

Yes! She's reaping what she's sown for sure! Hope she cries herself to sleep every night. Charlie is so hot. I was jealous of that kiss!

3) When Charlie started choking back tears as he looked at the chain link fence... I got a little wet myself.

Yeah that killed me. Damien Lewis is a fantasitc actor without saying a word!

I think that's a poor move too. But maybe hits on the website will encourage the ratings people that the show needs to stick around? I'm grasping I know, but I love this show and I live in fear it will be cancelled. (I haven't heard anything, I'm just paranoid by nature, ha ha)

Oh yeah, Charlie wins the cute prize for eating a carmel apple. I love him!

In the first two episodes, you get a little picture of the murder victims. The detective that investigated "Crews" case said that Crews knew the victims, they were business partners and the male victim was skimming money and that was the reason the detective is so reluctant to say Crews is innocent. If Crews and his ex-wife were friends with the victims, she would probably know where the little girl went.

I am pretty sure that old ride (I think is was an old monte carlo) doesn't have shoulder belts, only a lap belt. He could have had it on and we would have not seen it. If you did see a shoulder belt hanging there unused then I am wrong.

I liked this episode, though I feel it really didn't give us much more to go on regarding his case. It was interesting to see how surprised Ames was when he saw the picture of the unmade bed. Could this rule him out as a suspect in the conspiracy?

For 500+ lbs that dude could move, maybe the Raiders should pick him up - I mean after he spends his 6 months in prison for murder thanks to the California justice system. smile.gif

The wolf scene at the end was a little cheesy, but OK whatever the show still rocks.

It's a Buick Grand National. Produced earlyish 80's to about 87, so it has shoulder belts, but I didn't notice if it was used one way or the other.

sweet episode!! I liked the subplot of dealing with the cyotoes.. cute!! I loved Charlies new car..that's sweet!!

I think my favorite scene was when at the end, Charlie provoked the husband by shoving him twice and then the husband slapped him and Charlie's smile was just.. fitting to the scene.

Can't wait until next week!! smile.gif

I saw that too. Must have re-shot that one comment in the middle of the conversation and edited it in. Was really funny rolleyes.gif Generally there is a "Continuity" person who is in charge of seeing that doesn't happen, but I'm surprised the actors didn't catch it. I wonder what the original line they replaced was??

I am having to record life and watch at a later time. However, I too first noticed the bandage switch.... This was too obvious, boo! to the costume director. This was worse than "3 men and a baby's" little ghost act.// The end scene with the coyote.... Hmmm, The coyote were thought as a trickster by native americans. Then they get ole fat boy with the recorded statement in the van. I believe this series is going to do little stuff like this to see if it is caught by the public. I'm personally going to watch the rest of the episodes a bit closer. Good Luck Cast!!!

Weren't shoulder belts optional back then?
I don't remember them becoming a mandatory factory installation until the 90's.
But I do remember ordering a new car in 87, and being asked 'Do you want shoulder belts?'

I found on the life.fan-sites.org a reference to what would seem to have been an old working title for episode 3 "Let Her Go" - "Trickster".
