Upon graduating from the renowned Theatre Nepean (the prestigious actor training institution within the School of Contemporary Arts at the University of Western Sydney) in 2003, Yvonne Strahovski quickly established herself as a newcomer well worth watching.

Recognizing her talent, Australia’s Channel 7 soon snapped her up for its new drama series, “Headland.” Although the show was short-lived, it was enough to help get her cast opposite Colin Friels in the television movie “Blackjack-Dead Memory.” She then went on to play Martina in Channel 9‘s drama-series, “Sea Patrol.”

Two short years later, Strahovski landed her first feature film, playing Sondra in “Middle of Nowhere.” This was closely followed by the soon-to-be-released psychological thriller, “The Plex.”

Strahovski also has a passionate interest in theater as both an actor and writer. Earlier this year, she resurrected her cult play, “Kieslowski’s Neck,” which opened to rave reviews in Sydney.

Within days of her arrival in Los Angeles just a few short months ago, Strahovski immediately landed her role in NBC’s “Chuck.”

Currently, Strahovski is filming “The Canyon” opposite Eion Bailey, a thriller directed by Richard Harrah. As her name suggests, she is of Polish descent and speaks fluent Polish. She currently resides in Los Angeles.

I love the lady! But why is she listed as a "featured cast member" and not a "star"? To add to my worries she is only listed as being in four episodes. Is she not going to be a series regular? That would be a major bummer ... and more than a little misleading to feature her in the promos then have her exit the show!

Well, I really don't think that you can call casting rumors a "spoiler." To me, a spoiler has to actually affect the story in some way (so it would be a spoiler if he said she was only in four episodes because after that she turns evil or they kill her, but not "IMDB only has her down for four."

Anyway I doubt it's accurate. Her IMDB entry clearly hasn't been updated in a little while anyhow, considering that none of the episodes she's in, after "Pilot," have any titles.

Yvonne was the reason I first gave this show a shot. She's stunningly beautiful, plays the character with just the right amont of sweet, seductive and deadly.

The casting is pitch perfect.

"Sarah Walker" is listed as "Yvonne Strahovski", but if you click on one of her photos you will see "Yvonne Strzechowski"!

But — and fittingly — the agent to his secret, Sarah Walker, is full of mystery. TVGuide.com set out on a mission of our own to get the scoop on Aussie beauty and U.S. TV newcomer Yvonne Strahovski. (Psst, she reveals what it is that she just did for the very... first... time!) NBC's Chuck airs Mondays at 8 pm/ET.

TVGuide.com: I'm so glad to talk to you! We get regular reports on the most-searched-for names, and you're towards the top of the list. Did you know that?
Yvonne Strahovski: Yeah! [My publicist] Erica told me, and that's pretty special.

TVGuide.com: Of course, the results would be even better if your fans could decide on a spelling of your last name.
Strahovski: Oh, yes.... Well, it's spelled correctly in the credits of the show.

TVGuide.com: Ever think of going with, like, "Yvonne Streep"?
Strahovski: I did think about that, but the way it's spelled now is the phonetic version of what it usually is [Yvonne Strzechowski].

TVGuide.com: What do you think all these people searching for you are hoping to find? Racy FHM photos?
Strahovski: I'm not sure. They won't find any FHM pics, though! [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: Yeah, I came up empty myself when I went foraging. There's not much out there on you.
Strahovski: No, there isn't. But now that Chuck has started, there will be more and more!

TVGuide.com: I now hear that you in fact have an Australian accent. I wasn't sure, because some actors, when they're working here, try not to use it during downtime.
Strahovski: I'm not one of those people. In between takes, I'm Australian. I feel a bit silly if I stay in it the whole time. I don't feel like it's me talking to people. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: Do you and Rachel Griffiths and Jacqueline McKenzie have a bar you hang out at together?
Strahovski: Actually, no — but there is a pretty strong Australian community here. They do screenings every so often of an Australian film, and they'll have the featured Australian actor come in for a Q&A session. But I don't really have time to go to them anymore because I don't have a life, now that I work on Chuck!

TVGuide.com: I was speaking to Alex O'Loughlin from CBS' Moonlight the other day....
Strahovski: Yeah, Alex and I know each other. His dad and my mom work together in Australia.

TVGuide.com: I was busting his chops about all the Aussies and Brits working on prime time this season and he was like, "Hey, we're just going where the work is."
Strahovski: That's right. There's not a lot happening in Australia.

TVGuide.com: Have you had any previous flirtation with U.S. prime-time television?
Strahovski: This was the first pilot season I had done. I was actually auditioning from Australia, in Sydney, putting auditions on tape and sending them over as QuickTime [files]. Chuck was one of the [shows] I sent to, and they called me to say, "Come have a meeting with us." So I met with [executive producer/director] McG and [series creators] Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak, and they gave me the job.

TVGuide.com: Having previewed this week's episode, I have to say **** you for making us want Sarah with Chuck so badly. The chemistry between you and Zachary Levi is great, especially at the very end of this week's episode....
Strahovski: Well, they're going to build on that tension.... We'll see what happens.

TVGuide.com: The O.C.'s Rachel Bilson is coming on the show for a few episodes. Is she on the spy side or more the mall-employee side?
Strahovski: More the mall-employee side. [Laughs] She plays one of Chuck's "interests" for a little bit.

TVGuide.com: Does she raise Sarah's hackles at all?
Strahovski: Sarah gets a little jealous... a little. A little! Not that she can reveal it to anyone.

TVGuide.com: What do you think about the largely great reaction Chuck has gotten? Did you suspect that going in?
Strahovski: This was my introduction to the American industry, so coming to know all this stuff has all been a surprise. I certainly didn't expect it to get such critical acclaim.

TVGuide.com: Were you scared at all, being in your first U.S. production?
Strahovski: No, no, because this is just the beginning for me!

TVGuide.com: Are we going to get any backstory on Sarah, on how this young, beautiful woman came to be an elite-class secret agent?
Strahovski: I'm not sure how far they will go with that. In the pilot you saw Sarah flipping through the photos on her phone of her and [Chuck's ill-fated secret-agent college chum] Bryce, and we'll address that a bit.

TVGuide.com: And for how much longer will she be in the Swiss Miss uniform?
Strahovski: [Laughs] Um, I think for a good portion of this season!

TVGuide.com: Not that it doesn't work for me. It's just that in this week's episode, I worried that it's hard for her to do hand-to-hand combat in pigtails and lederhosen.
Strahovski: Actually, that is the most comfortable costume that I wear on this show. I have flat shoes and I can actually move around in my fight scenes. I feel very free in that outfit.

TVGuide.com: Have you had any sort of martial-arts training, or do you just thank god that you have a good stuntperson?
Strahovski: Actually, she doesn't get to do much, because I like to do my own things. I've been very physical my whole life. I went out hiking and camping for days in the Australian forest, and when I trained at drama school for three years, we did a whole lot on stage-fighting techniques.... And I was a dancer from 5 to 18, so I have a memory for choreography. It's not hard for me to do all that stuff. In fact it's one of my favorite parts of the job.

TVGuide.com: Is the formula going to be, from week to week, that something comes up, Chuck has information, and they go on a mission together? Or might there be deviations?
Strahovski: There is a mission every week and Chuck somehow gets involved, intentionally or not. And sometimes the Chuck world and the spy world cross and create dangerous situations. There's a lot of stuff to explore within that.

TVGuide.com: Before I let you go, since you are a bit of a mystery, why don't you share three things people might be surprised to learn about Yvonne Strahovski — starting with any tattoos.
Strahovski: No tattoos, but I had a nose ring for five years — and from close-up you can see the hole in my nose still! What else.... I'm pretty gross. When I talk I can be gross and crude.... And I'm more a boy than a girl in some ways. I had my first pedicure and my first manicure last week. I would rather go play soccer with the boys than have a pedicure with the girls!

I believe that I read on her IMDb profile that she took on the more phonetic spelling of her last name once she started to get a lot of work and realized that it was unlikely fans and reporters would be able to accurately judge the pronunciation of her name if she didn't. So both of those spellings are correct.

You are by far the best character...well besides Morgan! Anyway, great job on the American accent! I am very impressed. Do you have a coach or does it just come natural?

I finally watched an episode and was really impressed with her. The previews I had seen made her seem sort of unpleasant and did her no justice.

I have been really surprised how good she is on this show.

She's incredible as Sarah. She has just the right combo of stunning beauty, humor and can play the calculating spy as well. She gets better every week to...just like the show.

The "Wienerlicious" is the Stargazer restaurant at the Fallbrook Center Mall in West Hills, CA. Buy More is the Mervin's dept. store in the same center. The studios did a good camouflage job, though, covering all of the signs. It's too bad though, there aren't any hotties like "Sarah Walker" at these places.

Chuck is the perfect escapist fun, especially with all these super heavy (sometimes ridiculous) dramas on TV now. NBC better not screw up and cancel this show. It can easily make 88 episodes and then some because it's fun to watch again and again.

Y. Strahovski is going to be a huge star, maybe along the lines of a Kidman or Watts. She's the sexiest thing on TV since Jennifer Aniston and the first 2 seasons of Friends - so sexy, innocent, smart and the camera seems to love her. Great show....

Yvonne makes Mondays my "must see" night!

I think what I enjoy most about Yvonne in this show is they made her beautiful but still a Bad-a**. She walks into a room in a gorgeous gown but still knows how to be an agent of the government.

I officially have a hetero-girl crush on Yvonne Strahovski, she is such a great casting for Chuck- she is hot yet adorable at the same time...

The problem with videos of course is the questionable legality of it. Perhaps short sequences of fight scenes or something would be okay.

There may be videos in the future. It definitely hasn't been ruled out. We'll never be able to host whole episodes or anything, unfortunately.

I just finished watching her guest appearance and she was as cute as h-e-double hockey sticks (not sure if that's a banned word). When she was speaking in a Scottish accent her facial expressions were adorable.

Yeah, Ferguson's monologue did seem to go on for-eh-ver and it totally sounded like he was working with a laugh track but nonetheless I enjoyed his interviews.

Her answer to her "style" was very ambiguous and really evasive and at this point either scenario is a viable conclusion since we don't really know much about her. But I took it to mean that she just doesn't want her private life to be public knowledge. Obviously, I REALLY hope that it isn't the latter but if it is I wouldn't hold it against her. Plus, I certainly think that it's something I could live with when we get married and have many little Strahovskis or Strzechowskis (however her last name is actually spelled) running around. And yes, I will take her last name...

There is also a discussion just like this on her imdb board in case you wanted more opinions on the matter, if you haven't already seen it. Some of the posts are really funny. But in the end, it's her personal life and she has every right to be as secretive about it as she has been. It just adds to the mystery that is Str(fill in the blank).
