Good move. Maybe I'll just watch it on nbc.com a day late. Or run over to my computer during the commercials like I did tonight.
No idea who played Pratt.
Good show. It's extremely weird the way Livia keeps showing up though. And I didn't like the ending, though it was necessary.

And it seemed like Livia intentionally screwed up Dan's "date" with his boss's sister. Plus, I'd bet she loaned the watch to Dan knowing Katie would eventually find it. But why? Why is she hurting Dan in these ways? Think back to the first time we saw Livia----and she said "It is you." How did she know ANYONE was anywhere??! Much less Dan.

BTW, did anyone notice that in the Pilot Dan told Kate that he saw Livia? Of course at that point he thought it was a dream, but she could have figured it out without talking to Dan's bro.

Oct 8 2007, 10:21 PM
Yes, they didn't change that tonight. But they made you think. She didn't tell Dan's brother she didn't know, but he assumed it (incorrectly). When she had the watch at the end, she still didn't say she didn't know he saw her, but certainly it seemed like more might be going on.......to her.

I liked tonites episode!! Troubling to be in his position on not being able to save many other lives from the earthquake. I wonder what higher power is deciding who he can save and not others at the same time. I know I would have tried to do what he did to too save others. It seems every moment is precious when he is in a different timeline. So why was there time given to is bosses(aka the hulk) sister and she stilled died in the earthquake. Well he accomplished two missions and help his boss ease
some of his regrets for the death of his sister. Helping him remember her and celebrate her life.Pretty cool I say.

I think it is because each action causes a reaction, and in some cases it would be even worse. We learned tonight that if he would have saved Hugh's sister, Hugh would never have quit drinking. Hugh likely would have been dead.

Alot of Livia tonight. Got the marriage question out of the way. She seemed fine with it. He said he was happy where he was. Now is this the end of the love triangle? What's Livia's purpose if it is? Dan needs to ask more questions, she was there alot tonight. She just might become his time travel sidekick.

Just like how it's extremely weird the way Dan keeps showing up in the lives of the people he's helping.
My theory: Livia is to Dan like Dan is to the people he helps. Just the way Dan helps people who are lost, spiritually, Livia helps Dan when he's lost.

She's not trying to hurt him, she's trying to help him not screw up his job, not to mention the future. Dan wanted to save his bosses sister, but that would've been a mistake. At the end of the episode, we learn that his boss stopped drinking the day he found out his sister died. If his sister never died, Dan's boss would still be an alcoholic and not his editor.

You know how Dan timetrips and doesn't immediately know what he's supposed to do? How he's supposed to use his instincts to figure out who to help? Same thing with Livia. She timetripped and didn't know who to help before realizing that it was Dan that she would be acting as a guardian angel to.

The higher power you're talking about is Kevin Falls and his staff of expert writers. They decide who Dan saves and doesn't. It's usually decided in terms of what is the most interesting story to tell.

We got to see Dan stray from the path, trying to help somebody that he wasn't assigned to, and somebody that shouldn't have been helped. Had Dan succeeded in saving her life, "Hulk" would never have gotten the sobering news of his sister's death and would've remained an alcoholic.

Yup. He's always good.
I've seen him on StargateSG1 also....he played a sort of nerdy scientist.
Katie is growing on me.
I started out not liking her very much, because she seemed to whine and nag too much.
But in all fairness...if my husband was repeatedly disappearing, I would probably react much the same way.
But in this episode, Katie was a real peach.
She was not only supportive of Dan's little time-travel problem....but she jumped in and performed a great 'save' on the important article that Dan was working on.
Thumbs up for Katie.
But now that Dan's been caught in lying about seeing Livia on his trips...
It's gonna be hard for her to handle that.
Dan needs to tell Katie
everything.
I got the impression, in this episode, that Dan's feelings for Livia changed a little bit.
Did anyone else get that?

It was a great episode last night. One of the things that sticks out in my mind, is Livia telling Dan that she had been traveling through time even before she knew him. That throws a wrench in the guarian angel theory for me, and makes me wonder even more about if there are even more time travelers we have not seen yet.
Another thing, is it just me, or does Livia seem to have control of her time traveling, I mean she comes and goes, at just the right moments. Oh, I don't trust Katie, I don't know, it's just something about her.

Its getting better after the third episode
1. The tension between JM and his wife is getting more intense with the wife's discovery that JM has been meeting with with his ex in his travels. This after all the support she's given him, hmm....it's really getting to be interesting.
2. More explanations to Livia's (the ex) status - she was a time traveler even before she met JM! She stopped travelling for a awhile when they were together but she apparently jumped into another time before the airplane crash. She's been moving on since then. But why can't she go back to the present or even to the time right after the plane crash to be with JM. I guess more explanations later.
3. JM and Livia finally confronted the issue of JM being married. She said, "Congratulations" and just quietly went away. I'm sure this is not the end of it, or their feelings.
4. Where's the son...time travelling too? =)

Hey, I would be asking questions also.
1.If you have been traveling since before we meet, what is your original timeline?
2.Where do you go when you disaprear?
3.Have you seen anyone else other than me traveling?
4.Who, or what wants these people to be saved?
5.Who started all this mess?
6.Is there like a Central Control, or Headquaters?
7.What happens if I don't save the person that I need to save?
He's been lucky so far saving the correct people, but if he does not, does he get a do over? Will he run into his time traveling self trying to complete the same mission?

To me, it seems like he is just getting his footing. Everytime he runs into Livia (I may have that name sic), she vanishes just when it appears he is going to ask questions. I really enjoyed the show, just watched it on line.

How come? Before Livia met Dan, she was a new traveler much like Dan is now. She was probably assigned to track various different people just like Dan. Then after the plane crash, she got promoted and is now tracking the newbie tracker, Dan.
Is there any evidence in the show that Livia is not tracking Dan?
By series end, Dan might get promoted and start tracking a newbie tracker himself. Spin-off!

Well we don't know she was a new traveler, all she said was she was traveling before she met Dan, we have no idea how long that was. And since, like Livia said just one day stoped traveling, she decided that she could try to settle down. You have to admit, she was just as suprised to see him out side their old appartment as he was. She was sure rushing to get out of there.

I am not sure if Livia is tracking Dan, or if she is just "training" him. Maybe she has advanced to the point where she controls her travels.
I'm also not convinced that Livia doesn't still exist in the present time. I think she does, and when she time-traveled again on the plane, she might have decided to just let Dan think she was dead. She does LOOK older than the version of her that Dan met in episode 1.

Never noticed it before... but Reed Diamond was one of the great cast of characters in the movie "Memphis Belle" along with the
Hobbit... Sean Astin and "Titanic's" Billy Zane!
Memphis Belle was on AMC over the weekend and watching an older movie like that is sort of like going to a class reunion...
Good episode #103. Not great but quite good!
Loved that line Katie utters after Dan has dropped his shoes and disappears.... she peeks through the shower curtain and says:
"Oh." As if this happens all the time.
Someone asked who played the part of Alan Platt back in October... don't know if that was answered but he was able played by John Billingsley who has guest starred in many series' including playing that of Dr Phlox in Star Trek "Enterprise" along side Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame!
