I guess I'd be the dream demo, but I really liked Heroes and stuck with it...even after last season got a little bit convoluted. This year, I'm back as a 'Heroes' fan but I've also latched onto 'Journeyman', 'Bionic Woman', and now 'Life.' I like them all!

Me too. I like all of them except for Heros. I have never watched it. For some reason, it just didn't grab me. But I think I like "Life" the best, then Journeyman (because of Kevin McKidd) and Bionic Woman. I do wish that Bionic Woman would pick up a bit so I guess I'll have to give it some time. As a woman, I wish there was a cool male lead in it as well as Michelle Ryan. Do you like the chemistry between Crews and Reese? I hope they get to know each other better. They seem to have alot in common.

I'm really wracking my brain here: What other shows (or movies) has the lead in 'Life' been in? I KNOW I've seen him elsewhere but I just cannot place him!

NBC has all the good stuff this season.
I am watching more NBC shows now than I have watched in 10 years.
I hope that the powers-that-be will give Life and Journeyman at least 2 seasons.
Many people are suffering from 'cancellation fatigue'...from so many shows getting canceled abruptly without a proper ending to those storylines.
Viewers feel betrayed by this, and are reluctant to even start watching until they hear that the show will continue.
I don't blame them....why invest time in something that will leave you hanging?

Damian Lewis is British....even though he is doing a good job of hiding his accent on this show. smile.gif
He is well known over there, and has a rather large body of work.
I had never seen him in anything till I saw him in the Steven King movie, 'Dreamcatcher'.
But I made a point of watching the 'Band of Brothers' series, when I read that he was in it.
He was great in both of those.

You raise an EXCELLENT point. "If I knew then what I know now, I would never have started watching the show." People don't like getting 'roped in' and then essentially tossed out of a moving vehicle when (if) the show is canceled. 'Life' and 'Journeyman' are very clever, 'think-outside-the-box' shows. Momentum is what they need, and I think two things help: message boards and forums like these, and a little box called a DVR. I know in my case, I'd NEVER latch onto these shows if not for the time-shifting flexibility of my DVR. I recorded the first two episodes of 'Life' and watched them between 6am and 8am this past Saturday morning. As much as I like these shows, I'm not about to be beholden to NBC's scheduling gymnastics.

I'm a BBC fan, so I've seen Damian Lewis in The Forsythe Saga and on Band Of Brothers and he was excellent in both. I'm sure he's been in alot of other stuff, but I remember him from these two shows. I love his character Crews and his obsession with all things fruit. I hope they explore his love of fruit more. He's such a quirky, fun character. :)Ali

The Forsythe Saga! And in that, he played a character I just despised! Wow...Thanks for the help!

Yes, the character he played in TFS was Soames and he was such a jerk. The character never smiled and was kind of whiney. And, this is kind of mean but the female star of TFS was kind of horsefaced and hard to believe as the big love interest. Crews and Reese are soooo much more fun. smile.gif

Well, truth be told, the female lead in 'Forsyte' was more than 'kind of' horsefaced.

But getting back to 'Life,' I don't yet see 'fun' brewing between these two. It's only been two episodes in, so there's ample time for that. I very much like the 'plot-within-a-plot' construction of 'Life.' I really went seriously 'Whoah!' when the camera pulled back for the first time to reveal the 'conspiracy wall.' You can clearly see that Charlie will be content playing with and eating interesting fruit until that wall is complete and all the i's are dotted & t's crossed. Then, 'Whamo!'

I've got to agree with you. They have some great programming! All the ones you mentioned are great, but so is Chuck. I don't know if you have given it a shot or not, but I would recommend it.

My wife and i hardly watch any TV at all. With 2 young ones under 3 smile.gif We decided to start watching Life and really get into it and I am glad we did. I have seen parts of some of the other shows and I was really not impressed. I never got into the office, I get the jokes I just don't think the writers do a very good job at writing for that style of comedy. Earl, well I could take it or leave it. We DID see the first 2 Bionic Woman episodes, and well you can probably tell from my screen name what I thought about it tongue.gif It got really lame really fast. The girl playing the lead is a horrible actress and her character got way too cocky too fast. The writers didn't give her character enough time to develop and it all seems forced. I have never seen heroes, journeyman or chuck, so no comment there. I have also never seen 24, lost or many of the other cult shows that many people seem to like. Any and all so called reality shows, which are really scripted and edited to look a certain way by the producers are such a huge waste of time. i actually feel dumber after watching them. Please don't think I am some kind of PBS watching snob, I love the Simpsons, South park, The daily show and other silly stuff like that. I just feel insulted when so many different shows use the same formula over and over, its insulting. I still think Scrubs is the best show on TV. Being in the medical field I can honestly say it is the most accurate hospital based TV show ever smile.gif
Again, just glad i decided on Life, very well done.
OK thats my $0.02
