Didn't enjoy the artwork. Thought Caitlin was a man in the first image and that just kinda ruined it for me from there. I'm really trying to figure out how his lightning works cause he still can't apparently pull it out on command, he has to have something cause it, whether it's to avoid getting hit or Caitlins name (how those 2 can be linked is beyond me).

It would be nice if they (mods) would post up the new GN thread so we didn't have to discuss it in last weeks thread. That all being said, she gave him the clue to use his powers, and somehow he did it wrong.

I don't get it. Is there a link between that legend and Peter's story?
pootysmack
shes trying to tell him he got his powers from someone else like that legend got his powers from the mermaid. she knows more about peter than we think. I want to say peter got the lightning from her as she knows about that sand thing that forms from lightning and sand. despite the fact it shows him using the lightning before we see the two of them on screne, she could have been apart of putting him in the crate.

Wrong,

The story is simple, The mermaid knows the hero and her won't work, so she lies and says put my face and name on your shield. She also knows that his love for her will give him the drive to fight harder. So the story is to help peter realize that his power once again is connected to his feelings. But once again he has messed up and attached a word to the lightning. Now if he only could realize it's the emotions that are the key to controling his powers, not a word...... peter... peter...
Bride2Bee
I agree with the person that says that Peter should attach his powers to emotions and not to specific people or words

I also think she knows more than she telling, but not that she was the lightning person. When she said "You're a good soul Peter, I can tell" I was like 'really.....how can you "TELL"?!?' I still hate this character though. Not too fond of any of the Irish characters but I really hate her. I also don't like that he "fell in love" so easily and that he may not even want to know who he is because of her....I liked the love story with him and Simone better, there was more depth and history there.

Plus I think she's working for someone to keep him in Ireland and keep him from wanting to find out who he is...I don't know why...

the artwork was terrible, caitlyn looked bad and peter looked like an old man. I miss peter and nathan interacting i hope he goes home soon sad.gif

LMAO! NOW you are talking my language. wink.gif

Wow, you guys are rough!!!

Yeah the art was "a Far Cry" from where it should HAVE been for such intimate [passage within Peter's ongoing] story but barring [forgiving] that... I thought the story was pretty good... Thumbs up to you Geo Tank! --- You pretty much mirrored/echoed my thoughts and conclusions on the theme and Peter's resultant turn in perception and -- I suppose, soon -- action...
Bride2Bee... You're too cynical LOLOLOLOLOL ! ! !
Personally, I really dig Caitlyn, but I'm a super ssuuuperrr SUCKER for Brunettes especially ones from Ireland -- too much of listening and dreaming to Dead Can Dance and too much W.B. Yeats, is the culprit... LOLOL
Besides... if I were in his place, I'd probably act the same way... It's my suppositon [shared by ALOT] that he might be [?is?] "Running Away" from his Past, his Identity and therefore his Destiny --- the scene in the pub where they have their first kiss intimated as much...
Also, clinically amnesiacs are known to get romantically involved with those that are immediately involved in their process towards -- or at least around -- the coping with their amnesia...
Also Peter is an Empath... To me, at least that means he HAS TO and WILL ... FEEL... FAR FAR more intensely than most people can or would dare to... His attraction is mirrored by hers and intensified... Empathy is a sword with NO handle --- you WILL get Cut... and you Will BLEED... wink.gif

Artwork was decent.
Story was slow.
I didn't really enjoy this one.

I believe they were trying to imply that his powers flow from the heart, not from the head. When in times of intense emotion, Peter finds his powers come to him.
Philboy89
agreed. i laughed when i watched Peter saying "lightning" and "spark" every time. reminded me of an anime hehe. I agree with those that say that this story shows that Peter's powers come from his heart not his mind (figuratively speakinng that is). Although i do hope he doesn't say anything again when he uses his powers next time.

I personally really enjoyed this issue over recent ones. I prefer Caitlin over Simone for the straight fact that so far from what we've seen Caitlin isn't a cheating hoe happy.gif. But on that note so far all we've seen is them kiss and hold hands and no straight up sex scenes. I don't want her to die, but I have a feeling the relationship isn't going to last sad.gif. I actually want her to stay.

Oddly, I've never understood the debate over this issue. He's an Empath!
Barahir
If you read the Q+A w/ the Beeman guy, he pretty much says as much. I don't know what the debate is about either.

How Hana and West get better graphic novels than Peter is beyond me...

Because Hana was primarily a GN character. She had a few scenes in the show, but nothing compared to any other character.
West is still up in the air. I'm not really sure how I feel about the character, or how much of a GN character he'll be.

I didn't like this one so much. The artwork was seriously bad in some scenes, the first one I had a hard time noticing it was Caitlin (I did, but it was only through logic and not through the ressemblance).

The story was cute. But didn't give me the excitement I had in some previous issues.

Would you believe that I didn't catch the obvious pun until just now?

That's funny i didn't catch it either and i love saying stupid puns....

Bingo. Nicely put GeoTank
Exactly what I was going to say

This issue definitely gives credence to the idea that Peter's powers are tied to his emotion.
Why else would they have given us this story?

The mermaid story was about the hero being in love with the mermaid and having the self confidence to do what he did.
Using Caitlin's name to summon the lightning power was interesting.
And he talked about the future while hugging her, and they teleported to the future.
Hmm...had Peter not been in love before Simone?

But then his powers also kicked in out of fear....and also out of anger.
So I'm still confused.
