10/08/2007 (08:00PM - 09:00PM) (Monday) : IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO--- Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) is finding out that living two separate lives is not going to come easy. After being challenged by his boss at Buy More, Chuck needs the help of his best friend Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and the Nerd Herd, to prove that he is up to the task and ready to become assistant manager. Thank goodness for DVR! Got to work tonight. Also, like that I can catch the episodes on-line here too. I was out of town for Episode #2 and watched it here. Good quality and the Target ads didn't bother me one bit. In fact when a sponsor does something like that I'm more inclined to use them.

Example: I went to Target and bought a copy of Serenity Collectors Edition there as opposed to getting it from Amazon.

Always good to come home after a hard day at work and sit down for some good laughs and entertainment. Looking forward to tonight.

Howdy everyone, Z

Another great episode...great focus on the Nerd Herd, Morgan still continues to be my favorite, love his fear of the old computers, and the "not cool guys" comment at being locked in the dark with them when the "herd" headed home. The writers continue to excel with the character development on the background characters, way to go.
Ariah
love morgan also, captain awesome seems resourceful, but not as smart as chuck.

Wow tonight's show was awsome. Definitely makes up for episode 2. I was just upset that Sarah didnt use her lipstick/knife gadget. Boy, Adam Baldwin is a bonus for the show! He is so believeable. Great fight scenes and catch line with that microwave incident! LOL. Next week's preview looks even better!

This is the first show I have actually liked in a long time. I really hope it is on for years.

great movie

Good pace, good action sequences....another great episode.
The tango scene was a nice touch.
I really like this show.
'Humor under fire' is one of my favorite story elements....and it works so well in this show.

I would like to see the character of Chuck start to progress a little, and not be so perpetually helpless.
Casey & Sarah need to teach him some basic self-defense moves.

Ratings:
Week three of NBC’s Chuck took a tumble, dipping to fourth in the 8 p.m. hour with 7.12 million viewers and a 2.6/ 7 among adults 18-49. Compared to its debut just two weeks earlier (Viewers: 9.21 million; A18-49: 3.6/ 9 on Sept. 24), that was a decline of 2.09 million viewers and 28 percent in the demo.

I really wasn't impressed with this week's episode! I thought it dragged...I'm more interested in what goes on between the characters than the silly spy-plotting. I did enjoy seeing a little more of the Nerd Herd, though. I hope next week's episode is better!

I love this episode. Chuck learning the tango and doing the tango was sooo adorable. Casey is sooo awesome and funny. I like how he told Chuck about never joking when it comes to Chuck's life, and then you see a smirk on his face when Chuck found out he lied to him. Oh man and the microwave shooting out of nowhere...CLASSIC!

Another great episode, it just keeps getting funnier with each episode. rolling.gif biggrin.gif cool.gif

Does anyone know the name of the actress that played La Ciudad? She looks familiar but couldn't find her name in the credits.

Chuck vs the Tango

Enjoyed the eps. Though it wasn’t my favorite Adam (Jayne) getting plenty of airtime is a plus and like e-lizza posted, I really enjoy the Nerd Herd. Chucks guys are really funny. I mean Chucks team. Morgan is hilarious and reminds me of someone I knew back in my early 20s (won’t say how long ago that was). Anyhoo, just some comments about the show so far:

1) Chuck’s sister is way too cute for Captain Awesome. Hey, he’s a likeable guy and all but I see her with someone more like Nathan Fillion.
2) I know Sarah likes Chuck but is she just leading him on? I mean her b/f was Bryce and he and Chuck seemed to have been in some completion at Stanford with Chuck maybe even holding the upper hand. Is this why he seemed to be pulling these dirty little tricks on Chuck?
3) Harry Tang and Big Mike are so dang funny ( I work with Harry and BM)

That’s about it for C vs T, looking forward to next week.
Z

Ps: the arms dealing lady was really hot.

Even though the ratings were not so hot for this episode I feel that this one greatly improved the show overall. We got to know all of the supporting characters more:

Sarah: Does actually like Chuck
Casey: Will give credit when credit is owed
The Captain: Well-gifted in the art of female seduction (and very comfortable with himself)
Morgan: Scared of old computers, and doesn't actually know how to fix a computer
Big Mike: Likes to use his workers so he doesn't actually have to do any work
Tang: Tattle-tale
Jeff: Alcoholic/porn-addict
Lester: Sees himself cooler than he actually is
Anna: Likes being one of the guys, has had a girl on girl experience

This episode also explained how Chuck got kicked out of Stamford (stupid Bryce). We learned that Chuck does actually have an ambition in life. Plus he can adapt himself when need be. I feel that we are getting the workings of a long running show here guys. I am so excited!!!! I wish I could go on set and see how everything is there. It seems like it would be a lot of fun.

Chuck is an interesting show. There are so many shows to watch these days that I have to view many online. Hope it succeeds!

To me the most subtle, funniest -- and wittiest -- music reference in "The Tango" episode is when Morgan is locked in the computer cage. As he lays there, contemplating his fate [years and years alone behind bars] the opera playing is "Canzonetta sull-aria" from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.

That is the opera Tim Robbins plays in The Shawshank Redemption over the public address system while he locks himself in the warden's office. It made me laugh out loud!

The thing that cracks me up about this episode is something that I didn't notice until I was listening to the episode on my ipod. Right after Casey hits the bad guy with the microwave, just before his awesome line, the microwave dings. Too funny.
chuckfan23
^ I agree. That ding is hilarious.
UltimoPegasus
LOL, I forgot about that, thanks for the reminder.

What ever happend to the british MI6 agents if they were trying to capture La Cuidad why didn't they follow Casey and Sara into the hotel room she was hiding in.
Nun_Chuck
It may have been a jurisdiction issue. Now that federal agents (Casey and Sarah) were involved, maybe they were not allowed to participate. I mean, it seems the MI6 were engaging in covert ops in the U.S. in this case (since both the CIA and the NSA had no idea), I'm sure they were not exactly welcome. In other words, you bring up a great point, I have no idea if it was a hole in the storyline, but just trying to justify it.

Ok, my take on this is that the CIA/NSA are not going to tell MI6 about Chuck and the intersect. I assume that the MI6 agents returned to stakeout the painting again. Casey and Sarah returned to the auction and you see them looking around for Chuck before taking off back up the stairs...alone. My point is that they had parted company with the Brits long before Casey whipped out his trusty Garmin and they tracked Chuck to the hotel room.
hi_its_me
You have a good point Frvtastic
Also once thay arrested La Ciudad there might be an issue over who would get her MI6 or Sara and Casey

but I know if I was Casey and Sara and I was about to attempt to take down the most dangerouse arms dealer in the world I would want as much help as I can get.
Nun_Chuck
To be accurate, when Sarah and Casey come back to the auction after dealing with the MI6 agents, they're not expecting the run into La Ciudad immediately... their only concern at that point is to find Chuck. It just happened that Chuck was already involved with La Ciudad, so they ended up tackling her.

Just a reminder, this will be the Friday offering on the Sci Fi Channel this week. Chuck is now airing every week at 7pm EST/6pm CST, let's keep those ratings numbers up there.

^ yes lets keep the ratings up. this episode is one of my favorites. i love the fight scene between Sarah and La Ciudad.
Nun_Chuck
Me too. The entire episode has a choreographed, dance-like quality to it, especially the fight between Sarah and La Ciudad.
Cyrus3v
I'm wonder if anyone knows which is the brand of the watch that Sarah offers to Chuck?
dora_the_explorer
good question. i can't see it on the watch or anything and on te box it says nothing probably and custom made watch by the CIA.
Cyrus3v
I liked that watch and wanted to buy one for me, but unfortunately i didn't find one similar to that of Chuck. dry.gif
IwuztheOffice
It's probably not any brand in particular. Who knows. Maybe it's a Swiss watch? wink.gif
dora_the_explorer

No. I have a friend who works at Swatch and i ask him if he had a model similar to that watch but he hasn't found none similar on Swatch Collection. The one that I found identical to Chuck watch was one of the Levis.

Maybe what the dora_the_explorer said, is a cheap watch.smile.gif
IwuztheOffice
^Well, a Levi's watch makes sense biggrin.gif
Cyrus3v
Maybe is a Diesel watch - link
IwuztheOffice
^Maybe, they certainly look alike.
dora_the_explorer
ya that look pretty close. biggrin.gif
Cyrus3v
Very close. happy.gif

Also found another brand very similar to the Chuck watch - Alfex
