Full Version: Combined Hiro=Dragon and Kensei=Patrelli thread

I was along the same train of thought as Dive to Blue, and am expanding on the theory. It seems pretty sound so far, give it some thought. It all starts with the ancient Japan story.

QUOTE (dive to blue @ Oct 16 2007, 4:06 PM) *
Hiro has told us in a past episode that the Dragon trained Takezo Kensei, and later, asked for the princess. Takezo Kensei cut out his heart and handed it to the Dragon.
So here's a theory: Hiro is the dragon.
How so? Hiro techincally trained Kensei, as he is trying to make Kensei into the man of legend. And we all know too, that Hiro has feelings for the princess, and that's the reason (or at least, one of them) why he stayed in feudal Japan. It makes sense that Hiro would ask for the princess, and Takezo Kensei would cut out his heart, literally, since he has the ability of spontaneous regeneration.
Now, I'm not saying Hiro is literally going to turn into a dragon. That would be absurd. As most of us know, in the Heroes world and the real world, depictions have tended to become skewed and distorted as time passes by.

I also believe that there's a possibility that David Anders is playing both Takezo Kensei and the suposed villian "Kane," but I'll save that for another time. I'm sure we'll find out next episode.

I'm with you here. Especially know that GN 55 is out, about Hiro being the Dragon of the stories. Him appearing as some sort of 'tanuki' or something just underlines the concept of him as a mystical creature of ancient Japan during his time there.
This 'myth' has most likely been perpetuated by Kensei himself, maybe in order to protect future Hiro's knowledge of the events (maybe an attempt to keep Hiro from steeling his love?), but most likely to heighten his own legend and fame and keep his real identity and power concealed.

Now, for those that say that the GN disproves the theory that Kensei is actually Pop's Patrelli:

Actually, nowhere in the GN did it mention whether he had a power or not. It just showed him being shocked at the fact that Linderman had power. Perhaps he could feel Linderman's power somehow working alongside his own in healing his wounds. In order to preserve his identity, he would have to show shock at the ability. Perhaps he WAS shocked and thought himself the only SG, having not seen one in 300+ years. Of course, with his foreknowledge of Hiro and his words of other's with abilities in the future, he was aware that the day would come.

In the photo of the 12, it is as if he is intentionally NOT looking at the camera and is being careful to keep his visage muddled. I would suspect that over the years, he's found that it's best not to keep images of himself for future generations to find.

His wish to tell the Gov. of the SG. The desire of a 'Company' to search for and track SG after Gov. refusal, with knowledge of forthcoming SG. Perhaps even to alter events in his ancient past.

Maybe he is bitter at Hiro for things he sees as wrongs done to him. This would explain his distrust with Nakamura and the strange look that Nathan spoke of. It all ties back to the ancient Japanese. I think we'll find out that Patrelli aka Kensei 'committed suicide' once he knew of the existence of Hiro in the current timeline. Remember, Nathan and Peter are older than Hiro and Hiro's only sibling is his older sister. Kaito having a daughter would be of no concern for Kensei.

Perhaps the bomb last season was all an attempt to disrupt Hiro from visiting ancient Japan. Having failed in the attempt, Patrelli aka Kensei aka Kane returns to visit revenge on Kaito and Angela, believing (perhaps correctly?) that Hiro is a product of their tryst?

Maybe I'm off-base about Patrelli/Kensei's intentions, but I believe this theory will hold true.

No no no...

I don't know why everyone is so sold on this Petrelli=Kensei thing.

Now... Kensei might be a Petrelli... maybe...

Kensei is short, English and blonde. Petrelli is Itallian and in the GN Petrelli was a tall guy with brown hair. I just don't see how you get from A to Z on this one. There is litterally no similarities between the GN character and Kensei.

Does no one here think that during the course of hundreds of years that Kensei would not be able to speak pretty much any dialect or take any name he pleased? Or at least change his hair-color? Doesn't it seem a certainty that he would or anyone would have to change these things to protect their true identity and power after living hundreds of years?

IMO, there has been nothing SOLID to disprove the theory. I appreciate a good debate on it, though.

I just think Petrelli sounds Polack or Italian, and this guy is British

I believe the proper term you're looking for is Polish, and I think I addressed that argument in the last post I made. If you're alive for 300+ years, you'll have to change things up a bit to keep people from figuring your secret. Just because his name is 'Patrelli' now doesn't mean it has always been so.

It's Mr. Petrelli's apparent age that kills that theory for me. if Kensei is immortal, he should do one of two things:

1) Age continuously.
2) Reach maturity and then never age at all.

The Kensei we know in Feudal Japan is a man in his prime, whereas the Petrelli in the graphic novels was a young G.I. and the Petrelli in the photo was visibly aging then. Kensei would have to either look like he did then, or look like a prune.

I'm not ruling out that Kensei could be the killer though. The only thing we really know about the killer is that he's thin, and so far we haven't seen much of Kensei without his armor on.
Chaosleader0
2 things one maybe Kensei isnt Immortal and ages just really really slowly AND I would think that in the GN Petrelli's dad would of already healed or started to heal before Linderman could heal him
Chaosleader0
bah i cant find the thing to edit my last post.

If you have ever seen or followed Highlander or any other thing about immortals theres 2 ways to kill them cut off their heads or rip out their heart so if Kensei does cut out his heart or lose his head in a battle he would most likly die and not regenerate

Rebuttals to three points of discussion:

1: Umm... Heroes is not Highlander. As we have been shown repeatedly, the crucial spot for their power is a particular brain region near the base of the skull. Claire, et al, can heal pretty much anything else.

2: Folks who thinks Pa Petrelli is Takezo need to read the online graphic novel "War Buddies". Pa was a young draftee in Vietnam, and aged in the usual fashion since then. He was surprised by Linderman's power and tried to report it to the army, which is not something that he would do if he had been concealing the existence of powers for 300+ years.

3: There does not have to be a genetic link between Takezo and Claire. The powers do not necessarily follow mendelian inheritance. Or can you explain why Phasing combined with Strength would lead to Electronics control?

Thank you for so elegantly explaining the singular reason why Dallas can't be Kensei. We've seen him age from the GN to the picture in the show. Not only that, but don't you think that Peter and Nathan would have noticed if their father hadn't aged over the course of 20+ years? That certainly would have clued at least Peter into the existenceof abilities, and he wouldn't have been so shocked at his own.

LET ME PUT SOME OF YOUR THEORIES TO REST WITH SOME INSIDE INFORMATION.
THESE ARE NOT MY THOUGHTS BUT FROM THE SCRIPT FROM SOMEONE WHO WORKS ON THE SET.
FIRSTLY ADAM AS HE WILL BE KNOWN (KENSAI IS HIS JAPANESE NAME) IS RELATED TO CLAIRE AND U CAN TAKE IT TO THE BANK.

SECONDLY HE DOES NOT DIE BUT WE SEE HIM IN THE FUTURE 300-400 + YRS LATER AND BY THAT TIME HE WOULD HAVE BETRAYED HIRO BACK IN THE PAST.

THIRDLY ADAM/KENSAI SAVES NATHAN'S LIFE AND PETER ENLISTS THE HELP OF ADAM/KENSAI TO HELP HIM ERADICATE A VIRUS BREAKOUT IN TX.THAT IS WHERE WE FIND HIRO WHO TELLS PETER THAT ADAM/KENSAI CANNOT BE TRUSTED AND RIGHTFULLY SO (SINCE WE LEARN THAT ADAM/KENSAI IS THE ONE KILLING THE ORIGINAL 12 (B/C THEY USED HIM AND BETRAYED HIM).

ADAM/KENSAI HAS PLANS OF HIS OWN FOR THE VIRUS.PETER STILL BELIEVES IN ADAM/KENSAI AND HE AND HIRO FIGHT WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS IN SUSPENDED ANIMATION.
PETER KNOCKS OUT HIRO BUT FAILS TO STOP THE VIRUS.
MATT AND NATHAN ARE ALSO AT THAT SCENE AND PETER EVENTUALLY SEES THE LIGHT.

ADAM/KENSAI CANNOT BE KILLED SO HE IS IMPRISONED IN A METAL COFFIN WITH CONCRETE ON TOP AND IS PUT NEXT TO KAITO.

This says nothing to the idea that Kensei is Petrelli. We've all seen the picture of the '12', and that was after I posted this thread. No one knows yet whether this theory is true or not. Despite the GNs and Insider's posts, this theory has yet to be definitively disproved, IMHO.
Insider
bara, for the record, i've never said that kensei is related to the petrillis'. i simply dont know anything about that.
more importantly, why is this heroeswriter guy taking my info that i've posted a week ago and making it sound like he brought the info? its puzzling to me.
and if you've got "new info" (my info) start your own thread and stop taking over other people's threads. wasting alot of space with your multiple posts spread across all over the forums.
if you wanna take credit for my hard work, at least take it to a different forum, not here where i've already given out the info a long time ago. quite annoying.

theories are theories... proofs are proofs. We can only speculate to some extent before things start getting crazy and out of the box. I bet tomorrow's episode blows things completely out of proportion and 99% of the theories will be disproved. darn you heroes writers! I'm addicted like its crack

well, heroeswriter isn't a very good online post writer, and needs to fix his CAPSLOCK key, but his claim is looking pretty good.

So back to the original theory of Hiro, Kensei and the Dragon. I think Hiro was the Dragon and Kensei. He taught Adam/Kensei, but ended up becoming Kensei in the end. The Dragon asks for Kensei's Princess, but Kensei cut's out his heart.

Hiro/Dragon-wants Yeako but can't have her, because he needs to return to the present.

Hiro/Kensei-'cuts out his heart' by leaving Yeako in the past to return to the future.

I hope that makes sense, its hard to explain.

What is the brain attached to? For those that don't know, the head, just like Highlander. rolleyes.gif

I find it hard to believe that Adam has survived 400+ years and all it supposedly takes to contain him is a metal coffin and some concrete? It seems a little far fetched, but I have to admit, the writers have thrown me a time or two.

I am so curious to see what Adam's vendetta is all about. There has to be more to it than being angry at being locked up for 30 years.

I looooove this show
