10/15/2007 (08:00PM - 09:00PM) (Monday): DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND -- Chuck (Zachary Levi) faces an unusual task, when Sarah's (Yvonne Strahovski) hot colleague from the CIA shows up requesting help for a mission. Morgan (Joshua Gomez) tries to get Chuck to set him up with Sarah's new friend. When Chuck finds out that a million dollar diamond hidden in a Malibu mansion is being used to help fund terrorists, he must help these two beautiful women steal it back. Also starring Adam Baldwin, Sarah Lancaster, and Ryan McPartlin.

just curious are you really Dr. K on ER? I can't wait! Next episode looks good!
AzizalSaqr
Uh...that would be a no, however, I do run a website for Goran, and I have had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

Ah, super sweet... for some odd reason I dont see how "wookie" relates....Like what its connection is with the episode...Insight?
AzizalSaqr
We won't know until it airs...and from the previews it looks like it's going to be another good episode.

I'm intrigued....

Let's talk about tonight's episode here! Hope you all in the East enjoyed the episode! I'm looking forward to seeing it a bit later. twss.gif

Absolutely loved the episode. The best one yet. Hilarious, exciting and fast paced and romantic. And WOW Yvonne Strahovski.

Hope the show sticks around. It's the best new show of the season bar none.
PontiusPython
Wow! This rocks! *squeal of joy*

Serious fan service going on... can't say I mind - even if I am a girl.

I've been waiting for a slow episode, expecting that as good as this show is: it'll have to hit a slump at some point. I'm so happy to have been wrong thus far.

Last week my mum was in the hospital during "Chuck" - so we watched it on the TV in her room. Everyone in the family is hooked. I love shows that are both family friendly & good. Thank you everyone involved with the show! I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Hm, I honestly don't know what to think about this episode.
The beginning was great... but the plot was really not what I expected it to be.
I love the chemistry between Chuck and Sarah but I find things are moving WAY too fast. What do you expect from the same guys that brought the OC though? :/ I really hope it doesn't turn out like that because I didn't tune in for an angsty drama. Seriously, its only 4 episodes in! They should slow down with that stuff. I have LOTS of faith in Chuck though and I still think it needs to find its footing. The funny/cute moments were good but the plot definitley needed to be improved. Last week's episode was amazing, I hope they can keep that up from here on in. It didn't make me hate the show, but this week's just wasn't on par with the others. I hope next's week's episode is a billion times better!!! smile.gif

There is a spoiler warning on the thread and once the show has aired in the East/Central timezones it's fair game for talking about without censoring your comments.

I loved the Nerd Herd and Morgan drooling over the female spies...lol, could they be any more desperate? I also loved the board game where Morgan knew all Chuck's facts...great stuff for the trivia buffs out there to collect.

The whole beach scene tonight seemed so completely out of place.

I love the show. I really do- from the pilot, I've been very excited to have something else good on. I mostly avoided NBC until Heroes last season, and now this show.

But please, if the NBC writers are watching this- do not turn this into a dumb-blond, mindless, run around and fight (as opposed to lifeguarding) "chicks run around looking bimbo'y" show. "Bionic Woman" is unfortunately providing plenty for that sad zombie audience of folks. This show, so far, has been enjoyable by both men AND women. Intelligent. Savvy. For the first time, I actually think that there are some true 'puter geeks that have been hired on as "technical consultants". Most shows annoy the growing number of techno-weenies like me away by having stupid scenes like "Oh, so I hack into this Gibson, and when you do, you see these Mandelbrot sets expanding on the screen, and then I dive deeper into a file system city". Okay, the pilot seemed a _little_ far fetched, but it was still good as a "beyond belief" idea, and nothing since has seemed outer-limits in computer/tech abilities.

I do understand this was perhaps meant to jokingly or mockingly pay homage to Baywatch, but if that's what you were going for- I think it's still a little too early.

I enjoyed it regardless, but there are probably some people that are teetering on the edge- it's a new show, you have to expect there are going to be some hesitant and doubtful people. Please - don't scare them away. Keep it true to where it obviously exists. This is no time to be throwing in a joke-slant on it.

In an era where too many good shows have disappeared for what seems like no reason, I can't help but want to reach out to the people that make this show happen, and plead to you, don't push it to the limits too early.

Thanks,

Mo

Thanks Azizal- I hadn't realized I was responding to an existing post- thought I was starting a new topic, but it's cool. Thanks for the welcome anyhow!

By the way- what's your idea on my post? Am I the only one that felt it got a little worrisomely off-beat for a moment?

I thought this ep was fabtastic! The whole show was fast paced and funny and I loved Teh Bond Grl beach scene.

Not enough Casey moments but what scenes he was in were hilarious.

Big thumbs up. smile.gif I hope the ratings reflect how great it was. ::crosses fingers::

I think it gets better every week. This is the one show I will always watch. I would like for them to slow down the Sarah/Chuck couple thing.

Who is the actress that played Carina? Looked very familiar, maybe from Angel or something.

LOVED the episode will deffinetly keep watching, love a show that gives me what I like, Babes, Funny, action, VDO games

I loved this episode. I just love that the writers are broadening out the supporting characters it helps bringing Chuck's world to life. Also we are learning more about everybody which is "awesome". Did anyone else love that the whole entire time they were trying to find the diamond Chuck still had his drink? I found that pretty funny.

Hey Mo,

totally felt the same way..

i'm starting to get hooked to this show.. but some scenes/plots/storylines still seem a bit off to me..
but i was more concerned for the music editing for this episode..

1st was the wierd change-up music while they were playing the board game then talked about Bryce being Chuck's most hated person.. the whole classical piano, drama music didn't work for me.. and it continued all throughout until Sarah and Chucks dialogue...

and who needs suspense music when you're feeding the fish or on the way to the shower for a bath.. i mean it just pre-empted the whole ninja fight scene.. or it just came in too early...

i dunno really, just the start and stop cues for the instrumentals of this episode was just both odd and off..
which is sad really because i thought the music of the 1st three episodes were actually cool and new...

other than that, i'm still hooked to chuck and looking forward to next monday!

Anyone else catch the "Blade Runner" reference in last night's episode? When Morgan unknowingly received the diamond, we saw a shot of his bag, which had "Tyrell Corporation" written on it, which of course was the company that built the replicants that Harrison Ford's character was hunting down.

I tip my hat to you, geek technical consultants.
LegZoff
This show has really grown on me. The relationship between Chuck and Sarah is handled so well and the level of humor is just right.

Love this show and every episode has made me laugh.

No reference to Angel, but I did find out who she is. I used imdb & the credits at the start of the episode to find her: Mini Anden. She's been a Victoria's Secret model & has had several roles on different shows including "Shark", "Entourage", "Dirt", "Ugly Betty", "Fashion House", "Monk", & "NCIS". IMDB also states that she was in "Oceans 12".

Note that the site also mentions that her last name often has an accent over the e.

I completely missed that! Thanks for posting the info. I, too, tip my hat.

Morgan was holding a Tyrell Genetic Research bag that the diamond got slipped into - that is the place that engineered the "replicants" from Blade Runner - has that bag made an appearance before? That is my favorite movie and I am super excited for the new release smile.gif

Again,

Excellent episode that left me wanting to watch another hour! First off, did anyone else catch Sarah's "tooshie" during the fight scene with Carina? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Ahhhh nice. I'm not trying to sound perversed or anything but I am just so pleased that the editors left that in there for some very sweet eye candy.

Anyho, I loved the episode and I was pleased to see them introduce a new character, more in debt we get to see another spy! I am digging the gadgets that we are seeing as well. Boy, wasn't Carina seriously packing! Did you all see her arsenal? Nice to see Sarah with the iphone. I hope we get to see her use it as a GPS as Casey had one on his phone. Also, the entire fleeing from the beach scene was so James Bond like with the jet ski rising from above water with the touch of a button. Great stuff.

My only disappointment is the flow of the relationship between Sarah/Chuck. It feels as though its moving rather too fast for people who just really known each other for about a month. But I guess its ok as of now because hey it happens and I can understand being attracted to such a stunning woman in the likes of Sarah. Besides. we gotta remember that Sarah led Chuck on & then got hit with the "oh Im only with you because I am a spy" news. That's pretty heart breaking no matter which way you look at it.

I ultimately wanna see them together but we all know that if so, it would jeopardize future missions as we saw in this episode. Also we see that Bryce's and Sarah's relationship didn't turn out so well. So I guess time will tell...

A+ episode!
pbnk
didn't notice that... cool catch!

The “Spy Who Loved Me “ eps. Complete with James Bond(ish) music. I really liked Chuck vs the Wookiee. Takes the tv series to a different level of seriousness without loosing all it’s humor. Enjoyed the segment with the Nerd Herd crew (I like seeing them guys).

Chuck is still tv worth watching and I will be there.

I'm giving you a chance since this was your first post & it's relatively likely that you simply neglected to read the rules/FAQ re:caps.

I've spent several hours of research time trying to see if anyone on any other fan site has identified the game: No such luck. If it is real, your best bet is to possibly try looking up the questions online & seeing if you get a hit or (and this is what I would recommend) to find someone who TiVo'd (or otherwise recorded) the show in HD & watch the HD version on a big screen TV. Just after Morgan holds up the "Kill Me" message the side of one of the card holders for the game is visible. It's the closest thing to a game logo that's available through the entire scene. I've tried freeze framing it on my 50" Samsung DLP, but again - without HD, I'm not getting a clear enough picture to read it. Sorry. If I have to guess at what it says, I'll guess "Know Ya".

I tried looking up "Know Ya" online & only came up with a Card Party game called "Whad Ya Know" - which bears no resemblance to the game in the show.

Good luck.

Please let us know if you find a definitive answer to your question.

When Sarah mentioned her sister at the beginning of the episode, I thought Carina was going to end up being that sister-that-you-love-to-hate. But hey, this wasn't the first time I've been wrong.

Chuck and Sarah kinda remind me of Scarecrow and Mrs. King. laugh.gif
PontiusPython
Who's to say that you were wrong?
vbarkley
Well, I don't see that she's slated to be back in any future episodes. If they were sisters, I think Carina would at least be a recurring character. And I believe Sarah would have said something in one of her private conversations with Carina, or vice versa. For instance, one of them could have asked, 'So, how's Mom?"

I don't think they are sisters but that would be an interesting twist.

Another great episode.
Wow, that guy was really furry....so, calling him 'the Wookie' was perfect.
I like it that Chuck seems to be progressing with each episode, and isn't freaking out quite as much.
Still wish Casey and Sarah would give him some basic self defense lessons.
