Hi, I'm a PhD student at the University of Surrey, UK who researches friendships between gay men and straight women. Right now I'm analysing episodes of Will & Grace to try and understand how the friendships between Will, Grace, Karen and Jack are portrayed. Friendship is an ever-present topic in all eight series, but I'm interested to know if there are episodes that stand out in your mind for the way they explore friendship, gender and sexuality?

These might include issues like:
* Sexual desire and friendship.
* Women's friendship with men.
* The effect of other relationships on friendship.

If you want any more information or are just interested in what I'm doing drop me a line here or PM me.

All thoughts or suggestions gratefully received!
Many thanks.

Will and Grace is just about my all time fav comedy. It's witty, silly, and entertaining. Will is so handsome, I could just stare at him for days!

I think that having a gay friend could be the ultimately perfect friend, provided your not in love with him! I have a really good male friend. He's one of my best friends for the past 12 yrs. The only thing that would have made it better is if he were gay. We could talk more about girly things like clothes and hair styles, while sporting the best conversations about the hottest guys!! That would be cool!

well dan_uk you came to the right place. and i can give u a great answer to your research. My name i corey and I am a gay man, and I have a few great friends that are just as strong as will and grace friendship/relatonship was. I can tell you that it is exactly like the show, meaning it is true the bond will never break when it comes to advice and life, its like a typical friendship. but when it comes to love with another person it can be rocky because it deals with a need that person would like to have, like it was on a few episodes on the show. but when love is not in the picture the bond will always be great. women love gay men because they are men they can have as a friend and only a friend, you dont have to deal with sex, or commitments with anything besides really a great friendship. I hope this reply will help you get a step closer to finishing your research dan!
