I've been watching SVU for years, and had been enjoying a lot of the fan fiction that the show has inspired. I found links from another board to "character inspired blogs", and thought they were awesome! They were really different from other stories I had read, and are updated pretty regularly. There are blogs from Elliot, Olivia, Munch, Novak, Dr. Huang, and Capt. Cragen. They don't all follow the storyline from the show in it's entirety, but has a good storyline nonetheless. Those who do enjoy fan fiction might enjoy something a little different.

Anyway, thought you all might get a kick out of this local story. As soon as I read it, I knew I had to share it with you guys. Hope it makes you laugh, too.

Naked Couple Enters Waffle House, Chase Ensues
POSTED: 8:04 am CST November 3, 2006
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Customers at a west Nashville Waffle House restaurant were in shock Friday morning after a naked man and woman walked into the restaurant.
Authorities said the naked man, Larry Boyd, and the unidentified woman were sharing a room at the nearby Super 8 motel.
The woman told police that Boyd took a hit of cocaine and started acting crazy, trashing their room and choking her. She then ran to the Waffle House located next door for help and locked herself in the bathroom. Boyd came chasing after her into the restaurant.
"I was standing here. I forgot exactly what I was doing, and all of a sudden a man and a woman with no clothes on came running into the store,? said Waffle House employee Judy Davenport.
While the woman was locked in the bathroom, Boyd was outside screaming that he was robbed. He gave up trying to get to her and ran outside and got in to her car just as police arrived.
"As we pulled over there, the suspect's vehicle was leaving the hotel parking lot in the back with no headlights on. There was a patrol car pulling up at that time, and he fled from that patrol car,? said Officer Curt Capps of the Metro Police Department.
Police said Boyd then led authorities on a high speed chase that ended when they spiked the car?s tires twice on Eighth Avenue.
Authorities took him into custody with no clothes on.
Boyd was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, felony evading arrest and other charges.
Authorities found one gram of crack rock cocaine in the car.

While I can't see this as a basis for an episode (where's the sex crime?), I can see this is an opening scene to something that turns into a sex crime case. Can you just imagine trying to film this? LOL

lol The story is a hoot.

I can see them using the whole running into the waffle house nudie for the beginning of the show. But there needs to be some kind of sex crime involved. Maybe the female was a rape victim? Drug deal gone bad. She wanted the drugs, had no money so she had to sleep with him for it and then cried rape.

Or maybe she was an underage teenager whose parents found her and her druggie boyfriend together and they took off out the back nekkid. Father insued, girl runs into local food joint, locks herself in the bathroom. Meanwhile, druggie boyfriend hops in his car and takes off, police are called and high speed pursuit takes place. When he's finally arrested (nekkid) he claims he's the innocent victim teen girl (whose father is crying stat. rape) was the one who seduced him, brought the drugs ... etc. And it becomes a battle to find out who was right.

I've always been interested in seeing a case where the young victim (16-17 or so) is held accountable for their part in a stat. rape case. Some people don't think they are old enough to know better, but I've seen some very smart, manipulative teenagers who know exactly what they are doing. And who's to say someone in their young 20s can't fall victim to that?

Any favorite stories?

I just finished Sacrifices. Wow. I could not stop reading. It was amazingly well written, kept me hooked , and even though I was very tired of sitting I could not stop. I finally had to stop in the middle of chapeter 6 - my rear was sore amd the dogs needed to go out. After an hour's break I resumed.


My favorite so far on fanfiction.net is a Reason to Live (new) and an old one called the Holiday series.

This stuff is addictive.

I know that I watch too much SVU when......

Yesterday I brought my kids to Chuck E Cheese to let them burn off some of their energy. I am sure you all know that when you walk in they stamp your hand (and your kids) and when you leave they check to make sure you are leaving with your own children. I sat there thinking about this, it sounds great but think about it. If you are a pedophile, you would just take a child into the bathroom. There is no one there to make sure you have your child. So it would be easy for a pedophile to take an innocent child into the bathroom and do whatever they wanted......

That is how I know I watch too much SVU. I think about these things!!!! Am I crazy?????

BTW: I noticed in a previous post that someone has the theme song to SVU on their cell phone and their background is the cast. How do I get that? I have been looking for their ringtone but couldn't find it.......

I think about things like that too. I never, ever, ever let my 4 year old out of my sight in public because I am so worried about this kind of thing. I guess I am not very trusting.

u can buy it...but i did it the cheap way...my friend found it on " http://timstvshowcase.com/svu.html " and my phone has a record button so i held my phone up to my speaker and recorded it.... if u dont have a record button just google Law and order SVU theme ringtones and look for one....ur service provider might even have one...well thanx...and did u see my previous post.. i def watch too much SVU ...

I think about it too. And it's sad, because, I'm not even a parent. I think about that for my sisters (who are younger than I am by 6-9 years..) almost constantly, almost to a point of paranoia.

I know I've been watching it a bit too much when I start having dreams about Munch running over my dog.

a good episode makes me soo happy!!!
i have dreams about being an SVU detective or s/t along those lines...
i spend 3-4 hours making an episode guide...
i have a pict of the cast in my wallet...
and i have seen all the episodes and have seen at leats half of them multiple times...
yea im nuts....

I think about things like that too, and I'm (ideally) /years/ away from having a kid.. But SVU has definitely heightened my personal awareness of the dangerous things around me.

On a lighter note:

When you're in chem class and you need to copy a table that looks like this:

And you almost say (aloud) "Wow. That's backwards." And /then/ you realize that they're talking about Even and Odd protons, neutrons, and isotopes (respectively).

I think about the same thing, and I'm not a parent, I'm still in high school! Especially around Halloween when I was going out with friends and I was thinking- If I get grabbed by a pedophile or something, nobody would be able to see him because it's too dark outside. But then again, who's crazy to think about these things when they can really happen at any given moment?

Your not crazy I don't have kids but younger sisters, 6 and 10, I am only 16, and I think that all the time. I think more people need to think that way because you never know when something might happen

You know you watch too much SVU when :

--You start talking about the characters as if they're real people.
--You see things that remind you of the characters and think "Olivia/Elliot/Munch/Fin/Casey would like that."
--You're invited to a great concert or party, but you skip it because SVU is on that night.
--You tape every single episode and rewatch it because you're afraid you missed something. (Guilty, guilty, guilty!)
--Your license plates have an SVU theme, such as "MUNCH1" or "EL-LIV".

I'm a newer member to the board, and addicted to Law and Order-SVU. I keep visiting Google and searching for photo shoot links, but it only comes up with screen caps and little bits from news and actual episodes. While some of these photos were really nice, I was wondering where I could visit so that I may look at e-Albums with Mariska and Chris and the rest of the SVU group. Photos that might not be taken from an episode, but a photo shoot, outside of the show. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thanks!

Ha?ha?ha?! Yeah I have! I once had a dream that I was a witness to a crime and Elliot and Olivia were interviewing me. I then jumped to the station and witnessed Elliot and Olivia kissing and I remember feeling jealous. Kind of weird huh?

Sadly yes I have, although I'm not sure exactly what it was about, something strange about Elliot fighting weird creatures and becoming a werewolf so he could save Olivia, actually I'm not sure if he was trying to save Olivia, it was a weird dream anyways, after that dream I decided to only watch SVU when the new episodes were on because I was getting a little too obsessed. I mean seriously, it's just weird to be dreaming about a TV show...as for the daydreaming thing, well I think were all a little guilty of that.
