Will NBC honor tix if strike cancels shows?, Took 3 years to get them!!

After trying for 3 years I got picked for the 11/17 show. If its cancelled any idea if they will honor them for another show after the strike?? Im glad I have not bought my plane ticket yet! This sucks.

I jumped through lots of NBC hoops for the right to post on the SNL board. It seems to be the only one that I can't access. What's up with that??

After two years of waiting, we finally got tickets to SNL, for next weekend. Now I really need to know if this show is going to run or be cancelled due to the writers' strike. We have expensive airline and hotel reservations that need attention.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the Nov. 10th show is still going to air even though this writer's strike has come into effect. I have tickets to this show and I would love it if someone had any information on the status!!! wacko.gif

As long as the strike is on, there won't be any new shows.

It sucks to have tickets and then not be able to see it. I feel for ya.

I have tickets to the show on the tenth and I just saw Seth Meyers on CNN saying there is not going to be a show. My father works for NBC and I am waiting to hear confirmation, but I must say that It isnt looking good. I am upset too. I have been waiting for a year and a half.

Jessica,
Thanks for sharing your information. I wonder if NBC will offer us tickets to another performance, or if we are back to square one. So disappointing! The Rock and Amy Winehouse would have been a great show, too.

I dont know if they will honor the tickets. I wanted to see that show SOOOO Badly. I love Amy and the Rock was funny the last time he hosted. I dont know if they will honor them or not....... I hope so. I have waited so long to go to a show... Of all the days that the strike needed to begin.......

I think even if the strike ended on, let's say Thursday, there still wouldn't be a new show. Not enough time to write and rehearse the show.

Hold on to those tickets though. Maybe they might have some value on ebay. Tickets to shows that never happened might warrant a little cash.

I am in the same situation. I took out a loan to get to see SNL because we love it so much!!! We have already paid for flight and hotel ohmy.gif( We have tickets for the 17th. The ONLY reason we are going is SNL because we had already paid for a trip in December for my birthday.

Any word?

Sadly, they don't actually give you tickets. They send you an email that you print and bring with you, and they give you a confirmation phone call. The eBay idea is a great one, but alas, it won't work.

Oddly, they sent me another confirmation email last night. I don't know if that is an automatic thing that their computers are set up to do a few days before the show, or if this was their way of telling me that the show will go on.

I still havent heard anything yet from NBC. My dad emailed the Audience Coordinator and we still havent heard back from him. I have lost hope so far.... unsure.gif

Hopefully I will hear something today when my dad hears back from him. Who knows?

Are there any terms and conditions in the email? I would expect that they would have something to the effect of "In the event of a show's cancellation, rescheduling, or whatever..." If they don't have that, they definitely should, it's some standard boilerplate that will save everyone a lot of time and aggravation when it comes to matters such as these.

Good luck to everyone.

Nope, the email doesn't say anything to that effect. I guess it doesn't happen all that often. I'd say our chances of going to the show this weekend are now just about zip. I mean, Seth Meyers is a vocal participant in the strike. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they offer us another show at a later date.

That would be cool if they do. You might have to wait a really long time again, so they aren't bumping others from shows they've had tickets for.
Jessica1459
Ok so now it is definite. There is NO SHOW on the 10th. It looks like they are doing the repeat of John Bon Jovi and the Foo fighters that night. I wish you luck with getting new tickets when the strike is over! It figures that it had to happen the week before the show I was going to but, it happens!

GREAT NEWS!

NBC just called and offered another date. They rescheduled us for January 19. So, those of you who have tickets, expect a call. They followed up immediately with another email.

Now let's just all hope that the strike ends soon.

Thats great that they are doing that. I still have not heard anything for my 11/17 tix. If you had live broadcast did they reschedule with another live ticket. I had live and would hate to be replaced with a dress rehersal. I guess Ill just wait and see. I did here someone on CNN say he thinks the strike could go all the way to June 08 when the actors contract is up and the the 2 unions together would have more power to settle this. Lets hope not.
iron782
Just got THE call. Rescheduled for Dec 15th....the christmas show....AWESOME!!! Lets just hope this strike is settled by then. If not, who knows... I doubt they will offer the tickets again. I got my fingers crossed.

That's really great they honoured your ticket! You must be pretty happy, eh? You should give us an update afterwards! I really should try to get in on that ticket lottery thing someday. When I was in NYC visiting friends last year, I only had 4 days so no one wanted to wait in line for hours to get standby tickets }:-[ It took everything I had to get them to, at the very least, tour the studio with me and we watched them rehearsing with Jeremy Piven....from the windows! La de frickin' da! haha kidding!! I loved EVERY single moment I had in there and we had a good time! :-D
