EPISODE 5
Alyson is silently sitting in her bedroom reading a book, until she hears a knock at her door. She gets up and opens the door to see Nate.
“What do you want, Nate?” she asks.
“I just need to talk to someone,” he replies.
“About what; your dying love for Faith Wilson?”
“Um…yeah. I guess. Can I come in?”
Alyson steps aside and Nate walks in. She shuts the door behind him and they both sit down on her bed.
“Okay, spill it. What’s on your mind?”
“Well, for starters, I think I’ve fallen for Faith, but I don’t know why.”
“Well, let’s see. When did this infatuation with Faith start?”
“Infatuation?”
“Yes, infatuation; I’ve been learning new words, now come on.”
“Okay, well, it started a few days ago when I saw her in the park. I start to hit on her, but she turned me down and…”
“Wait, did you say she turned you down?”
“Yes, she turned me down.”
“I see what this is. You just want her, because she turned you down. You’ve never been turned down before.”
“You know, come to think of it, I never have been turned down.”
“Well, that’s it! You just want her, because she turned you down and you hate no for an answer!”
“Yes, yes. That’s it. You are absolutely right, Alyson!”
Nate hugged his sister tightly.
“Uh, no problem,” she said with a strain in her voice.
“Yes, that is it. That’s it. I know how to get over her. I can just call someone, have some fun with them, and I’ll be over it! That is perfect! Thank you, Alyson. This is the first time you have ever helped me.”
Nate quickly exited Alyson’s room.
“Okay… that was weird.” Alyson picked up her book and began to read it again.
Meanwhile, Nate looked through his cell phone as he walked down the hall.
“Ah, Ashley Simmons, the girl from the other day. She must have put her number in my phone, while I was sleeping, because I know I threw her number out the window. Oh, well, I’ll just call her and when I meet up with her, I’ll get over this attraction I have to Faith.”
Nate begins to call her.
…
“Hey, man, did you get her number?” Mike asked Nick and he and Eric caught up with him.
“Uh, yeah, I have it right here in my phone.” Nick answered.
“See, I knew coming to the mall would help you get your self a girlfriend.” Mike said.
“Yeah, now you don’t have to be the 5th wheel anymore,” Eric added.
“Yeah, I know. It’s nice.”
“Well, me and Eric are gonna go look at some shoes, are you comin’ with us?” Mike said.
“Uh, no, I have some stuff I need to look at myself. I’ll catch up with you guys later.”
“Alright, later!”
Mike and Eric walked off, leaving, Nick alone. Nick picked up his phone and dialed a number. It rung several times before someone answered it.
Meanwhile, far behind him were Giselle and Melanie.
“Who do you think he is calling?” Melanie asked Giselle.
“I don’t know,” Giselle answered, “I can’t hear anything back here and if we get to close he’ll see us and hang up the phone.”
They watched on as Nick began to talk to someone on his cell phone.
…
Faith exhales and smiles at her new ring.
“I am finally getting married to the man of my dreams. Matthew Silverstone, the sweetest, most kind-hearted man in the world. God made him just for me.”
There is a knock on her door.
“I wonder who that could be.”
Faith opened the door and saw no one.
“Hello? Is anyone here? Anywhere?”
She looked around and then looked down to see a bundle of roses and a card attached to it.
“Hm...,” she began to read it, “my beautiful wife-to-be, Faith Wilson. You are my everything. You are my life and I love you. Matthew Silverstone.”
Faith smiled.
“Aw…this is so sweet of him. I wonder where he is.”
“I’m right here,” Matthew said as he walked up to her.
“Hey, baby!”
They both hug and kiss.
“So, what’s the occasion?”
“Just to celebrate you and I getting married,”
“Oh?”
“Yes, yes. So why don’t you get in the car and we can go out tonight.”
“Go out… in this? No, no. let me get out of these jeans and t-shirt and put on my good clothes.”
“No, no. It’s okay. You’re fine, come as you are.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am positive, Faith.”
“Okay, well, let us go, Matthew.”
“Let us,” Matthew grabs Faith by the hand and they walk to his car.
…
Cortez and Mimi walk, hand in hand, on the beach.
“This is so nice, Cortez. You are just too much,” Mimi says looking up at the stars.
“Well, nothing is too much for you Mimi Carson,” Cortez says.
“You are so sweet.”
Mimi gives Cortez a kiss.
“Yuck! She sickens me. She doesn’t deserve him.” the mysterious person, afar, says to herself. “I will find a way to bring her down. It will have to be tonight.”
…
“Okay, bye-bye. We had a great time.”
The Renolds and Terrence Carter exit the house. Joan closes the door behind them.
“Now, that was nice,” Joan says looking into her husband’s eyes.
“Yes, dear, it was. And you know what I’m thinking?” Mark says.
“What?”
He wraps his arms around her and she comes closer to him.
“I think we should go out.”
“Really? What about Alyson? She can’t be left here alone.”
“Dear, yes, she can. She is old enough to watch out for her self. She is a responsible young adult.”
“Well, since you put it that way. She is a little angel. Well, okay. Let’s go. I’ll just go tell her.”
“Okay, I’ll be waiting for you in the car.”
“Okay, dear, I’ll only be a minute.”
They kiss. Mark grabs his jacket and walks outside.
Joan walks upstairs and knocks on Alyson’s door.
“Yes, mother?” Alyson says as she opens it.
“Your father and I are going out tonight, so that means you will be left here alone. Now, do you think you can handle it?”
Alyson’s eyes lit up with excitement.
“Yes, yes I can. You two can trust me.”
“Okay, dear, don’t anything stupid like have a party or something,” Joan chuckles. “Who am I kidding? You are my perfect, perfect daughter. You will do no such thing.”
Joan gives her daughter a kiss on the cheek and tells her bye as she walks down the stairs and out of the house.
“I can’t believe it! Wow. What to do?”
Her cell phone begins to ring. Alyson dashes over to her bed and answers it.
“Hello, Alyson speaking.”
“Hey, Alyson, this is Jane.”
“Oh, hey, Jane, what’s up?”
“I think I have an idea for you, so you can get with Jake.”
“Really?” Alyson’s voice went higher, “how? Do tell.”
“Well, you can maybe one day have a party; invite some people over and him also. Then you two can get to talking and the rest will go from there. It’s a good idea, huh?”
“Yes, that’s a great idea! And this is the perfect timing! My parents are gone out, so I am alone! Oh, this is so perfect; I could hug you if you weren’t on the phone. Thank you, Jane.”
“No, thank you for not telling anyone my plans,”
“Oh, no problem, no problem,”
“Well, I gotta go; I’m waiting on an important phone call.”
“Okay, bye!”
Alyson hangs up the phone.
“I know all the right people to call! And I know who my special guest is going to be,” Alyson fall back on her bed, “Jake Russel. Tonight, I will make you mine.”
She looks into her phone and begins to dial a number.
…
“Hey, Mike, do you think we should go on a trip,” Eric says as he sits down on the bench in the middle of the mall.
“I don’t know. It would be nice to get away with Melanie and Giselle. Melanie and I haven’t been spending a lot of time together anyway.”
“Yeah, you two can finally bond again.”
“Yeah, and maybe we can invite Eric and his new girl.”
“Yeah, that would be nice, but where would we go? We have school, we can’t just skip school.”
“Yeah, you’re right. How about just for the weekend?”
“Yeah, that would work. We could ask your father if we can use his cabin in the woods.”
“Yeah, but will he trust us four up there?”
“He should. We are good teenagers. We made good grades, so we shouldn’t have a problem.”
“What about the girls’ parents?”
“Oh, you’re right. Well, what can we do?”
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing.”
…
Jim walks into the house.
“Hey, Chloe, I’m home,” he yells out, “Chloe!”
He looks into the kitchen and walks back into the living room.
“Maybe she’s in her room sleeping.”
He walks down the hall and stops at her room. He puts his ear to the door.
“Silence, she must be sleep.”
He opens he door quietly and places her car keys on top of her dresser. He starts to close her door before he realizes something.
“She never goes to sleep with her light on.”
He walks up slowly to Chloe and gasps.
“Oh, no, Chloe! Chloe, wake up!”
Chloe has blood all over her face and in her hand she is holding a sharp piece of glass.
…
Nate parked in front of Ashley Simmons’ home.
He took a deep breath as he exited the car,” here I go. I just hope this can help me get over what I’m feeling for Faith.”
Nate knocked on the front door and in seconds it opened slowly and there was Ashley.
“Hey, there, Nate” Ashley said.
“Hey, there,” Nate said looking at her up and down, “don’t you look…sexy.
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
“And I’ve been waiting for this moment.”
The two smile at each other. Ashley steps behind the door and Nate walks in.
The two begin to kiss and Ashley closes the door.
…
“What is he saying?” Giselle asked.
“I don’t know. Let’s try to move closer without him seeing us,” Melanie suggested.
The two girls walked slowly behind Nick, who was now sitting down on a bench.
“Yeah, I’m here with my friends. They were trying to find me a girlfriend,” Nick said to the person on the phone. “Yes, I told them Tiffany was my new girl. Now, they believe she is with me.”
Nick chuckles.
“Yeah, when really she is the sister of… hey, I gotta go. I see them returning. Bye bye.”
Nick quickly hangs up his phone and puts it in his pocket.
“Hey, Nick,” Giselle greets.
“Uh, hey, what’s up?”
“Did you find yourself a girlfriend?” Melanie asked.
“Uh, yes, yes, I did.”
“What’s her name?” Melanie asks.
“Her name is Tiffany.”
“Oh, well, when can we meet this Tiffany?” Giselle asks.
“Um, I don’t know, maybe, soon.”
“Oh, okay. That’s cool.” Melanie says.
Nick looks at his watch.
“I think we should find Mike and Eric. It’s getting late and I should really be getting home.”
“Yeah, I think I saw them go into the CD store over there. Why don’t you go and get them.” Melanie suggested.
“Okay.” Nick walks into the CD store.
“Who do you think he was talking to on the phone?” Giselle asks Melanie.
“I think it was a boy,” Melanie answers.
“You think he was talking to another boy? I don’t believe it.” Giselle says, nodding her head.
“I really think it is. I mean, think about it, Giselle. He won’t even tell Mike and Eric who he really is with. He is lying to his best friends…about a girl. What else could it be?”
Giselle is speechless. She doesn’t know what to say to Melanie’s assumption.
…
“This is so beautiful, Matthew.” Faith said she and Matthew exited the car, “I’ve never been to a beach at night time. It’s so peaceful. And with you and I here, makes it full of love and romance.”
“Do you want to take a walk barefoot in the sand?” Matthew asks.
“Yes, let’s do that.”
Faith and Matthew both take off their shoes and begin to walk along the shoreline.
“This is so romantic, Matthew.”
“I though you might like it.”
“Like it? Matthew, I love it! This is so nice; just me and you….no one else.”
“Yeah, this is nice.”
Faith smiles and gives Matthew a kiss on the side of his face.
“A kiss on the cheek is all I get?”
“No, you get more than just a kiss on the cheek.”
She turns his head and begins to kiss him passionately.
“That’s more like it.”
…
Mimi and Cortez lay out on the sand.
“This is the best date ever, Cortez.” Mimi says.
“I think so, too, Mimi Carson.” Cortez grabs her hand. “I love you, Mimi.”
Mimi smiles, “I love you, too, Cortez.”
The two share a kiss.
“You are the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
“Aw, really, Cortez?”
“Yes. You complete me. You make me whole. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“Aw, that is so sweet.”
Mimi gives Cortez another kiss.
Cortez reaches into his right pocket.
“Mimi Carson…”
“Yes, my dear, Cortez.”
Cortez takes a deep breath.
“Will you…”
He is interrupted by a shot.
Mimi gasps, “Cortez!”
“Mimi!”
Cortez has been shot.
“I’m sorry, Cortez. It’s for the best,” The mysterious person, far off, begins to cry and runs off.
Mimi begins to cry and screams, “Help! Someone help! My boyfriend has been shot!”
…
The music is playing loudly and there are people dancing.
“Okay, there he is. You can do this, Alyson.” Alyson says to herself. “You can do this. Just tell him you like him and you would like to spend time with him.”
Alyson begins to walk toward Jake.
“Hey, Alyson, cool, party,” Jake says.
“Thanks, Jake,” she smiles timidly.
“So, where are your parents?”
“Oh, they’re out. They won’t be back for sometime.”
“Oh, cool.”
“Yeah,”
“Hey, Alyson, I think this is a nice house you have here.”
“Really? Thanks. Would you like a tour?”
“Yes, that would be nice.”
“Follow me!”
Alyson and Jake begin to walk up stairs.
“This is our beautiful hallway full of pictures.”
“Wow. Nice. Uh, is this you?” Jake asks picking up a baby picture.
“Yes,” she giggles, “that is me. Wasn’t I cute?”
“Yes, you were. And now you are a sexy young woman.”
Alyson smiles, shyly.
“And you are very…sexy…too.”
“Really, you think so?”
“Yeah, I mean. Look at you. You’re tall, nice hair, and you have…nice…”
Jake moves closer to Alyson.
“Eyes…”
Jake puts his arm around Alyson.
“And you have nice eyes, too.”
He starts to kiss her.
“How about we go into your room,”
“Um…I don’t know.”
“I thought this is what you wanted?”
“It is, but it’s so soon. I don’t know.”
“Don’t be afraid. I promise to be gentle.”
“I don’t know…”
Jake kisses her again and they start to back into a door.
“Is this your room?”
She nods yes.
He opens it and they both enter her room and close the door behind them.
…
“Chloe, Chloe! Please, wake up, big sis. Please.” Jim yells out.
He runs into the kitchen and grabs the phone and begins to dial 9-1-1.
“Hello? 9-1-1. I have an emergency. I just found my sister in her bed bleeding from glass cuts to her face.”
“What is this? Where am I?” Chloe asks as she looks around.
All she sees is a room and a person standing in front of her.
“Who are you?”
She begins to walk towards him.
“Hello, Chloe Clarkson.”
“How do you know my name and where the heck am I? What am I doing here?”
“You don’t recognize me?”
“No…who are…” Chloe gasps. “You’re my father! Aren’t you?”
“Bingo, you are correct! It’s nice to finally see you again my daughter.”
“Where am I? Why am I here?”
“Oh, honey. You’re dead.”
Chloe’s eyes widen.
“Dead? How am I dead? No, this can’t be.”
“But it’s true, dear. You’re dead. You are on your way to the after life.”
“No…,” she nods her head, “no!”
She turns from her father and runs.
“No, this can’t be. This can’t be.”
…
“That was wonderful, Nate.” Ashley says as she walks him to his car.
“I can say the same for you. You were amazing, Ashley.”
“Well, you know…” she jokes.
The two of them kiss.
“Bye, bye, Ashley.”
“Bye, Nate.”
He gets into his car and drives off.
“Yeah, that did it. I’m sure of it. I’m sure that sex with Ashley did the trick. I’m sure that I’m over my feelings for Faith now.”
“No, you’re not.”
“What?”
Nate looks to his right and sees Faith.
“What? No, you’re not real.”
“Not real? You are really in denial. I’m as real as your feelings. You may not know this, but I have feelings for you, too.”
“No, you don’t.”
“Yes, I do.”
Faith leans over to kiss Nate.
“No, you aren’t real!” Nate shouts.
Faith fades away. Nate looks to see if she was really gone and she was.
“No. No, it can’t be. I can’t still have feelings for Faith. No, this can’t be.”
…
“I am telling you, Nick is secretly talking to another guy on his phone.” Melanie says.
“No, I don’t believe he’s like that…is he?” Giselle questions herself.
“Yes! Yes, he is! That’s his big secret! That’s the secret!”
“Really? So, that’s who Nick’s mystery person is…a guy?”
“Yes! Doesn’t it make sense? Doesn’t this fit all in?”
“No, not really,”
“Stop lying to yourself. Face the fact. Nick isn’t dating a girl, but the opposite.”
“I…I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it.”
“You can’t believe what?” Eric says as he, Mike, and Nick walk toward them.
“What?” Giselle asks Eric.
“You said you can’t believe it and you said it like you learned something new about someone. What is it?”
Giselle looks at Melanie who is now looking at the floor.
“Should I tell them?” Giselle thinks to herself.
…
Jake and Alyson lay on the bed, still kissing.
“Just relax.” He takes off his shirt.
“Okay,”
They continue to kiss.
“No, stop.”
“What? Why?”
“I smell something. It smells like…fire!”
Alyson jets out of the room and downstairs and finds a fire in the middle of the now empty and trashed living room.
“No! How did this happen? Why did everyone leave without even trying to put it out?”
She rushes to the kitchen, grabs the fire extinguisher from under the sink, and runs back to the living room. She puts out the fire.
The exhales, “that was close.”
“Almost close, but not close enough.”
Alyson looks up and sees her parents standing in the door with angry look son their faces.
“Alyson Silverstone! I trusted you and you betray me! How could you?!”
“I…I…” she stutters.
Nate enters the living room from the back.
“Whoa! What happened here?”
“Your sister threw a party and caught the house on the fire.”
“Whoa…on fire?”
“Well, what do you have to say for yourself, Alyson?”
She looks at her parents and then at Nate.
“Um…it’s not my fault?”
