If you have a question related to a song you've heard on the series, this is the place to post it.

Just saw the pilot and thought it was good. Loved the music. What songs were used in the pilot?
mbthebody
Does anyone know the last song playing before the credits in the pilot episode of Chuck?

alternating lines...

your heart beats for a visionary

your heart beats for a missionary

I tried a search for the lyrics on google and came up with nothing. It has a techno/alternative rock sound to it.
papriko
hey guys
please i need the soundtrack for the pilot episode

Chuck is so so so nice

Not sure why my message concerning sharing what one of the songs were came off the board.

The first song when Chuck is setup to meet the three girls at his birthday party is from The Teddybears, and it is called "Cobrastyle." This was not listed in the credits.

Anyone know the other songs?
Life Hurricane
- Teddybears Sthlm & Mad Cobra - "Cobra Style" (played multiple times, during the opening credits)

- Jet - "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" (Chuck and Sarah getting ready for their date)

- Gomez - "See The World" (dinner scene)

- The Shins - "A Comet Appears" (beach scene)

Cellphone's Dead - Beck (Chuck tells his team about the Demova virus)

Into Your Dream - Foreign Born (a band plays while Sarah & Chuck dance)

Any Way You Want It - Journey (Morgan phones during the defusing)

For A Fistful Of Dollars - Ennio Morricone (Chuck goes to apply for manager)

The Missionary - Brothers Martin (Chuck has a flash of Sarah on a mission)

^^Very cool. Thanks!

The song in the latest CHUCK add is from an Anime called "Cowboy Bebop" its by The Seatbelts and it is called TANK! Tell me there isn't any similarity there! Look it up on Wiki, the similarity makes me think you are not giving The Seatbelts the credit they deserve for the song or your just copying it and hoping no one will notice it!

I am slightly insulted by this and want an Answer!
sg1niner
In order to use songs in advertisments they need to get permission so obsiously they got it. The song itself doesn't necessary belong to anime but the artist itself.
Nahiki
I havn't seen any form of documentation of them gaining permission

I don't know about this particular song. I do know that NBC is usually pretty careful about royalties. I've listened to many commentaries on DVD's from NBC shows, were the actors have stopped each other from even humming or singing parts from songs, because NBC would then have to pay royalties.

What was in the CLOSING credits?

Thanks

I will definitely be purchasing the chuck soundtrack! It had such great music to it!

More difficult question.

What's the song playing (it's mostly just guitar) when he is passed out after viewing the email message? Shortly there after, Cellphone's Dead by Beck begins to play on Chuck's way to work, that's not the same one is it?
theocfan2
I don't have a question, I just want to compliment Josh Schwartz for, once again, using Alexanda Patsavas as his music chooser, she does an awesome job on Chuck and did an awesome job on The OC!
Cant_Lose
Does anybody know the name of the song that is played during the beach scene when Chuck and sara are talking about chuck's future. Thank in advance
Harjot
Not sure, but I'm also wondering about the music that's playing as Chuck goes to hand in his application.
chief911
The song where he is on the beach is "A comet appears" by The Shins on their album Wincing the Night Away

From SantaBarbaraWahoo in Chuck Versus the Helicopter...

Loving the Spoon soundtrack tonight! "Don't Make Me A Target" is a very appropriate song for the episode...
sdjhnsn1
i was just wondering how i could find out all of the songs used in this episode
sdjhnsn1
how can i find out the names of the songs from 10/01/07 episode chuck v helicopter
WarriorPrncess
The music on Chuck is fantastic! In episode 2, here are the songs:

1. Iggy Pop - Lust for Life

2. Spoon - Don't Make Me a Target

3. Gnarls Barkley - Gone Daddy Gone (although the original Violent Femmes version is better)

4. The New Pornographers - Challengers

I have to say that the music director's taste in music coincides with my taste almost perfectly. Now if she would just play songs from Irving I'd be in heaven.

It was a little hard to hear the singing in Gone Daddy Gone, so there's always a chance I'm wrong on which version of Gone Daddy Gone is in the episode. smile.gif But it really didn't sound like the Violent Femmes to me.

The New Pornographers is one of my very favorite bands. If you like the female singer (Neko Case) check out her solo work. Her album Fox Confessor Brings the Flood is amazing.
HerdGrad
I sounded like the original Violet Femmes version to me, although I haven't heard the Gnarls Barkley version so I don't know how faithful to the original it is.

Thanks for the list wink.gif

I saw them in concert for the second time last week! Neko's touring with them right now. Amazing. AC said they've been getting requests to play "All for spinning you Around" everywhere they go - apparently they can't play it live.

We had phenomenal seats - directly over the stage. We were practically hanging over Kathryn's keyboards.
WarriorPrncess
I saw them three weeks ago for the second time, too! smile.gif The last time was on the Twin Cinema tour. My favorite two songs are from their first two albums, though - The Laws Have Changed from Electric Version (honorable mention to Testament to Youth and Verse) and Letter From an Occupant from Mass Romantic (honorable mention to The Slow Descent into Alcoholism). Talk about a band that brings it all live - as much as I love the music on the cds there's just something so electrifying seeing The New Pornographers live.

And to bring it back to Chuck smile.gif, here's a vote for more The New Pornographers on Chuck as well as my other favorite band, Irving.

Someday it would be truly amazing to have a boxed collection with ALL of the Chuck music. smile.gif

Many thanks to Life Hurricane and Warrior Prncess for the episode song lists, it's much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

If you like, I can edit the individual episode thread opening posts with the lists too as we have them. Let me know if you'd like that added to them.

I would like that a lot! That way I don't have to go searching for them when I want to download the songs from iTunes.

The name of the tango song is "Santa Maria del Buen Ayre" by Gotan Project. The song was used in a movie with Antonio Bandereas where he was a dance teacher. Can't remember the name of the movie.
