I'm fascinated with astronomy.
To the extent that I went to a "star party" earlier this year. These people had a ton of telescopes set up and I got to see Saturn, the moon, Venus, Jupiter.
I used to record all of the planet programs on the science channel. I couldn't get enough of it.
I asked for a star chart for Christmas blush.gif .

No offense to anyone on here but I've seen many people say thngs like 'I'm a little OCD' or 'I must have OCD because I get really fixated on stuff'.....that is not having obsessive compulsive disorder.....you have no idea what torment genuine OCD is and how it invades everything you do in your life....I have not had a moment's peace since I was 7 years old....I've had to do everything from counting every time I blink my eyes or swallowed in a day....to washing my hands 75 times a day (sometimes with bleach) until they're raw and bleeding, to staying up all night in order to say an even number of prayers perfectly...and if one even felt wrong I would have to start over again lest I risked damnation.

It is a constant record player in my head that I cannot escape and for which there is no effective medication...I am only able to manage it in order to function...but there is no rest from it. Forgive me but sometimes I get a little frustrated when people toss the term OCD around lightly as though it were a personality quirk rather than a serious mental illness.

I'm not meaning to pick a fight or put anyone down and I'm not singling anyone out because many people have mentioned it......I'm just saying...being a neat freak or being obsessed with a certain thing that you love....or just having to have one little item a certain way is not OCD....and to say that it is is belittling a serious problem that a few of us on this board actually have. Please don't do this. Just a request.....please. It actually kind of hurts my feelings.

I have synesthesia which means I combine two of my senses. Basically ever letter of the alphabet and number has a specific color so when I read something the letters each have their own distinct color. Something like 1 in 2000 people have it but it can change. Some people can taste words or see sounds, but I can only read in color.

totally agree BD, that is just one aspect of why I think I am OCD though

I can't stand odd numbers, if I do something I have to do it twice or an even time
I do this weird thing with my hands and if I start, their is a pattern I have to do until it is finished

I wouldn't say I have OCD majorly, but I do have OCD tendencies, mainly marked by my obsession with even numbers and doing some activities in a percise order otherwise getting fustrated easily

Sorry jenna...I just realized you were the one of the last ones to post on it....but I wasn't directing it at you....guess it must have seemed like it though....sorry. It's that the other stuff has been going on since I first mentioned I had it and people are saying stuff like I like to have a clean house or I am obsessed with blah, blah, blah so I'm OCD, too....and I know that there are a couple of other people on here who actually do have OCD and I just felt like I had to say something. It's a very long story that begins with me not having a television set for 3 years. So I just grew out of the whole "t.v" thing. I don't like t.v that much but when I caught Heroes that one day...it was the Petrelli storyline. I'm on the computer more because my work place also involves being on the computer so.... sarcasm.gif
I can never watch a full episode LIVE because on Mondays I watch my nephew and mothers and fathers knows how that goes! I do try to re-watch it o/l though...try. I still know what goes around though because from reading threads and all.
Smms
Thats pretty interesting. I have to watch the whole episode. If I miss one I still know whats going on, but I like to watch the whole thing. When the Petrelli brothers on, I really get into it tho, and I yell at anyone who talks to me.

I never really liked watching tv either. The Office and Will and Grace were the only ones that I watched, but my friends got me into Prison Break, Heroes, and lost. I'm sure after those tv shows are canceled I prolly wont watch much tv after.

I feel kind of ashamed for admitting to it though. Because it is a huge hit show and here I am saying, "I've never watched a full episode and yet I am on the boards (5 days a wk) when I'm at work/home.". tongue.gif

I do think that you don't need to watch an entire episode to figure out why things happened in the end like they did. (If you know what I mean).

The reason why I was only into the Petrelli storyline because I've never felt anything like that in my life. I just wanted to feel/know what it was like to have somebody like Nathan/Peter instead of something so negative. Anyways...

The actors brought so much warmth and happiness to my life made me want to fly and thank them in person for bringing the characters to life. Maybe not so much with "box of rocks" but Nathan...OMG! He is too wonderful for words!
Now you guys know why I was so upset when I missed AP...I wanted to thank him very much and at least kept a positive memory in my brain.

Sorry for the cheesiness people! Bye bye now.

I've never watched an entire episode of Heroes because I was only drawn in by the wonderful Petrelli storyline(s). I mostly flash forward through the rest of the other character's storyline however I still have an idea of what people are talking about when they discuss outside the Petrelli realm.

Now is a good time for me to go through each episode with no button touching! laugh.gif

That's okay....alot of times I'll fast forward through just to watch Matt or Nathan or HRG....fast forward through Maya's crap...fast forward through Sylar unless he's with one of the characters I like, fastforwarded the h*ll out of feudal Japan...cuz even though Kensei's hot....it was like watching paint dry.

I fastforward through Lost too...just so I can watch Sawyer.

The first time I saw Heroes was on DVD. It was Vol. 1 and I was enjoying it so much that we watched 14 episodes, one right after another. We were up until 6 AM.

BC's jealous! HoSsies, remember there is plenty of Sylar to go around, handcuffed or not. He does have multiple powers and stamina. It's not like we're going to kill him; no one else on the show can, so I don't think we should worry about that. Sharing! SHARING!

Something about myself...I love Lost!
