I like all of them. Some of them I am more favorable then others but in any particular order like Trace, Piers, Fallon, Nadia, Henners, Simmons and others.

Tiffany was pregnant & had morning sickness & was exhausted. I understand now why she didn't get all worked up. Her baby was more important.

Barnett or Trump owes her charity a minimum of 100,000$ sly.gif

Any charitie's with children are my favorities, but I would have to pick Tito's in this one.

Trace's is my favorite. I would like to see him win this for Brianna and all of the other people suffering with food allergies.

Animal shelters would be a great charity. I missed the part where they told each charity, did anyone pick my favorite...
St. Jude?

My 13 year old nephew was diagnosed with Celiac disease last year. This is an severe allergy to gluten. He can't have anything with flour in it or it will kill him. He has intolerance to all dairy, eggs, blueberries and many other things. My brother and sister in law took Sean to a nutritionist and he tested Sean's blood for 100 different things. Sean has allergy or intolerance to about 85 of them. So Trace's charity is my favorite. I agree with Trace when he says there's something we're doing to our children to make them have these allergies. Go Trace!!

They are all wonderful, worthwhile charities...but after watching my husband, mother-in-law, and stepdaughter suffer with severe food allergies....gotta admit Trace's cause is near and dear to my heart as well....Go Trace!

My favorite charity is Trace's, FANN.

I have friends who have children you have severe food allergies and it is no fun. Like Trace says it is a day to day life threatening situation. You need to be aware of everything they eat and what they come in contact with.

Hopefully with Trace on the Apprentice he will be able to get the awareness out there.

I support TRACE, his beautiful little daughter Brianna and FANN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Praying that someday Brianna will be able to enjoy some of the things she can't eat now.

There is a link that lists each celebrity & their charity.

Edit by idallia:

Each celebrity has a discussion thread, and each thread notes what the charity is for each celeb. Here is a list:

St. Jude, man if you have ever seen any of those kids and the stuff they do for them, miracalous. If they had an unlimited budget, the things they could do...... I have always respected Tito as a fighter but my respect for him has gone through the roof!!!!

I think that they are all very worthwhile and deserving charities. I would hate to choose one over another.

Having said that, I think that the most surprising choices for charities is Piers Morgan's. For someone who has built his reputation on being the "british bad guy" judge, his choice is impressive. At the risk of sounding political, it is also sad to find that this type of charity is necessary due to the inadequate resources available to our returning military men and women, and their families.

I am so for the Make a Wish Foundation & St. Jude's Children Hospital. So I am happy that Tito won some money for St. Jude.

Thru Make a Wish ...My daughter (in a group with 50 other college students) managed to raise almost $9000.00, so that two very ill children and their families could go to DisneyWorld (Jan 2008). The pictures of those students and the kids/families is just something no words can describe! smile.gif

First of all, I think all of the charities have their merits; and I do not wish to take away from any one of them.

I have been involved with many fundraising efforts for most of my life (dating back to when I was in High School, I was involved with at least one fundraising effort at any given time, with the exeption of the time I spent in the Army. Last year I had my 20th reunion); but my family and I have spent the last 16 years raising funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States (www.pbtfus.org), by raising funds, participating in and planning ride for kids events (www.rideforkids.org). In fact, one of the recipients of a Nobel prize in 2007 received his prize on research that we helped to fund; so we know we are connected to the right people that can show results in this arena. The foundation is very highly regarded in neuroscience circles around the world as the largest private source of research funding. What I would like to see, is a project for the PBTF, either in Celebrity Apprentice, now or in the future (with the players playing for a donation), or in the 2009 season as a regular project to provide exposure.

As a parent of a child with life threatening food allergies and as a fan of Trace, I would have to vote for Trace's charity,FAAN.
TraceFan
Beginning to think the charities are being ripped OFF.

20,000$ isn't much. Kodak, Vera, Crox, all other sponsors could give 20,000$ EACH easily.

Not to mention Mark Burnett. He gave cafateria survivor lady 50,000$. So he should anti up also.
onetracefan
Definatelly FAAN , Trace's charity, I think more people need to be aware of food allergies and the danger that it brings people everyday!!
COUNTRYISCOOL
TRACE IS MY FAVORITE CANDIDATE.

HIS FAVORITE CHARITY IS FAAN.

MY FAVORITE CHARITY IS FAAN.

He was the chosen to represent FAAN as the national spokesman in 2007.
He has been to Congress for FAAN.
His daughter Brianna who is 6 has severe food allergies.

Trace does represent his CHARITY, week after week.

I hope Trace is the CELEBRITY APPRENTICE!
COUNTRYISCOOL
I do not agree how Celebrity Apprentice is giving money to Charity.

That the Project Manager gets all the money for his charity, why not split it between all members whether it be HYDRA or EMPRESARIO?

Also why is the amount each week so low?

The task each week is seen by millions of people, providing excellent advertisement for the product.

I know I did purchase a Kodak printer, and did look at CROC online-I was surprised that there were so many products. I find a small selection of CROC's in my area, which is sad. Yes I am in the market for a new mattress and if the Vera Wang is available for me to try out I will. I also have visited the Purina Site many times, and found awesome dogs for adoption, plus 1 month free food for the dog in my area.
I will buy Pedigree food-it's up to my dogs if they like it. But I have family members and friends that I will pass on the word that by buying Pedigree they can help dogs in shelters.

I love the show, and can't wait until next Thursday, How about you?

I heard our ambassador to Sudan speak about the refugee camps in Chad. These people have witnessed the slaughter of their families and have experienced the loss of their homes and villiages. There is a school for 300 children in the camp that has only 13 books. Choose a charity such as UNICEF that would send donated books to these traumatized children. The only cost would be postage. Americans would freely donate the books. Let's think globally! "The lovers of mankind, these are the superior people..." -Baha'u'llah
every1sacritic_1
I understand that we all have valid reasons for choosing one charity over another. I have not fully investigated all of them but, obviously, most of them are well known and all are deserving.

I agree with COUNTRYISCOOL. The donations made on behalf of the PM are a pittance. While success in each of the projects is clearly determined by the contributions of each winning team member, the embarassingly meager donation is given only to the PM's charity. That's hardly a team-building lesson.

This series could have been a great way to raise awareness for all of the charities. It's too bad the producers didn't see or appreciate that.
winger89
I think that, although the contributions to each charity as it occurs is a drop in the bucket compared to what Mr. Trump is worth. I do think that the fact that the charity is featured on such a scale is worth noting, because it gives these charities exposure that many of them would not have had without the show. I also think that if a contestant wins more than one project as project manager, that the contribution level should increase with each win.

My favorite charity to support has always been the Muscular Dystrophy Association. No personal connections-just one that I have loved to help.

Back in 1990, I was able to answer phones during the telethon at Union Station in Indianapolis. Then I worked the phones the next year in another county when I moved. It was so much fun.

I really don't have a 'favorite' charity that is represented by any of the celebrities. I think they all are great charities and deserve more recognition. If I had to pick a favorite it would either be the special olympics (my daughter is autistic) or St. Judes.

I have been able to learn about two charities that I never knew existed before (the one Piers is playing for and the one Trace is playing for) and plan on donating money to both. If I had the money, I would love to send money to all of them.

anothertracefan,

I don't know if you were an apprentice fan in the past, but one season, I think it was the 2nd (????), one of the final tasks was a fundraiser for a group call Autism Speaks. I noticed when I logged on once that they had a link for it. I believe it was autismspeaks.org -anyway I thought if you hadn't heard of it you might want to check it out. smile.gif

I can't choose any of the charities as being more worthy than another. Each has special meaning to the celebrities for some personal reason and I hope that this show has at least made others more aware of some of the less known projects/charities.

My personal favorite charity "Kids With Heart" which is a support group that educates families of children with congenital heart defects. They provide bereavement services for parents who have lost children to heart problems as well as contributing to research. I'm including their website should anyone be interested in learning more about the organization.

Angel Tree is another project that's near and dear to my heart.

It was season four winner Randell P. The Final task was raising money for this particular charity. He is still supporting this organization.

Winger, bravo. You have the true spirit of fundraising and public awareness and thank you for the links. I took grant writing and promoting your cause is something that can happen at the drop of a hat when you casually meet someone. One of my instructors gave us the assigment to write a brief, one minute 'elevator' speech because you need to be prepared to give a quick pitch to whomever you might meet who could be interested. No long stories, but short and sweet and to the point. A carrot on the stick as it were.

Even though I can understand Tracefan's feelings that the money given out for the celeb appr. charities is not very high, it beats having to do a lot of research for finding a matching grant application AND their exposure on national television is something they could never ever afford. If they did, then they'd be making too much money to warrant being featured as there are so many many worthwhile charities that could use every little bit.

Grant writing (basicaly, FINDING one to apply for) is very time consuming, especially when you do not have the money for a grant writer in your budget. I never heard of Piers' Fallen Heroes fund before until this show. Of course, Trace's charity I know only because of severe food allergies in the family.

Exposure is key and I hope that all the charities that got mentioned on the show will continue to generate not only interest, but much needed financial support.

(and yea, wasn't Burned 'had' when he gave that lady the money on Survivor?, shame on her for lying about her situation)

Although I have been a big fan of Piers and his charity throughout the entire game, I also would love to see Trace win big for his charity in the name of his daughter. I know all too well what it is like to have food, medication, and other allergies and having children that can have such severe reactions to a food item or med that most of us take for granted. It is frightening to think you can lose your child to anaphylactic shock and medical help is not always readily available to get them breathing again. Unless Mr Trump will declare a tie, only because Piers has already won so much I would like to see Trace end up with the monies for his charity.

I, too, know what it's like on a first hand basis to have an allergy to meds. I am deathly allergic to penicillian (sp?). My ex has a food alergy and we have no idea what it is.

He was a cook in a cafeteria in town and was making Sesame Chicken. He had a dish of it for lunch to see how it tasted. He started to feel funny, and noticed his hands were red and swollen and then felt like someone was sitting on his chest. The owner came in and immediatly realized what was happening (her husband has a life threatening food allergy) and had one of the kitchen helpers run to the pharmacy and by a bottle of Benedryl while she called 911. She had him drink about 1/2 the bottle by the time EMS got there. The dr. credited her with saving his life.

I never knew of FAAN before this show. This show has been wonderful in just getting the recognition of charities like Trace's, Piers', etc out in the public view.

I don't remember who said it, but this person is right:

If Trace wins, his charity wins. If Piers wins, his charity wins.

I'm glad both charities will benefit from the final project. I wish all charites could have gotten something, like $5,000 or so, when the celeb supporting it got fired if they hadn't yet won anything for them.
every1sacritic_1
The finale would be a great opportunity for Trump to show his generosity by issuing checks to each of the charities that have not yet gotten anything.

I don't think $10,000.00 to each would break either him or the show, and wouldn't insult those celebrities who worked hard to win $20,000.00.

I have a big problem with the Kodak Task and the QVC task, on principle. Reportedly, these companies paid $2.5 million dollars to appear on the apprentice. The money the contestants raised is chump change by comparison. However, the money raised apparently didn't go to charity. Only the $20,000 did. It's basically a slap to the face. (On that note, I think it would have been hilarious if Piers used his roledex and had one of his friends call in for the QVC task. Could you imagine how great it would have been if Gordon Ramsay could call up and say how he was looking forward to that ladder?).
