How many will be close and hoping to reach goal in 2008?
*Raises my hand.*
- Share you plans/thoughts -
I actually lost weight over C-Mas and I'm so excited for 2008.
I have all of my mini goals organized and set.
I cannot wait to reach goal and be healthy!
Not to mention the sheer joy of looking/feeling great as well.
I started out at 187 lbs in a size 18 {tight}
Today I'm in a 14 {gettin' lose} and 173.2 lbs.
I lost a bunch of inches as well in many areas.
Once I reach the 50's, I'll know for sure what to shoot for as my true goal weight.
145 or 135.
No matter what, I want my clothes to fit well with no muffin tops or rolls..
Plus just havin' my body in shape as well.
So, that will be a size 11/12 @ 145 lbs. OR
9/10 @ 135 lbs.
As I said, we'll see once I get in the 50's.
a 9/10 may not be in the cards for me bc I'm 34 and my metab has been giving me issues..lol
~~Best Wishes To All Of You!~~
*Great Big Hugs!*

I'll be reaching goal in 2008 as well! HickGirl, you look GREAT! Your pic took a while to load, but wow, it's beautiful!
Started out at 248 in an 18/20 (I'm 5'10)
Currently 175 in a nice baggy 14
Shoowing for 145-148 and a size 8/10 by the end of springtime.
I, however did not lose weight over the holidays. I took time off and put on about 5 lbs, 2.5 which of are gone as of today.
Good luck to everyone who is working so hard to get their bodies in the best health they can be!

I'm sorry for everything you've been going through fitgirl! I hope 2008 will be a cancer-free year for you! Good luck on your journey, and I hope you find success!
This year I'm making a bunch of un-resolutions. I'm notorious for breaking every resolution I've ever made, so this year I'm purposely breaking all my resolutions.
This year I'm not going stay on plan
This year I'm going forget about exercise (who needs it?)
This year I'm not going to strive to be a better mother, wife, friend
This year I'm not going to take advantage of the weather (no matter what the weather is)
This year I'm going to beat myself up for every little mistake
This year I'm not going to enjoy life as it happens rather than what it could, would, should, or will be
I look forward to another year of just not being able to stick with my resolutions.

That is effing PERFECT!!!
Last night my kids asked me what my New Year's Resolution is and I told them they didn't want to know. lol They wiggled it out of me... so I told them I was going to be completely selfish this year. This year is going to be "The Year Of Tiff" and it's all about ME for a change. I am going to take this year to focus on myself. I am going to give myself the gift of "self-focus" and see how that works out for me. Focusing on others, as I have done my ENTIRE life, hasn't worked out too well for me... so I'm going to do something different and focus on myself.
This should be interesting.

EXCELLENT JOB... I haven't posted on here in about two years although I do read it periodically. I just want to congratulate you.

Goals:
To be me
To have baby #2 and exercise my entire pregnancy

To continue helping other people as much as I can.
And though it is a little vain, I would like to lose these last lbs just to see what I look like in the single digit sizes.

Okay. Just for the sake of perpective:
September 2005, weighed 213.
My optimal weight for health is 168, and I am bouncing between 177-190 (I'd guess I am at 182-183 right now). It doesn't sound like a lot, but I have had nothing but trouble knocking off those last pounds. It seems like every time I get close, I up and regain.

I am new to this board but my hopes are to get down to 130-140 pounds. I am 5'11" and right now I weigh (as of this morning) 230. I'm sick of being overwieght and disgusted with myself, I'm only 21 years old and I want to be able to live my life and not have my weight limit me to all the thing I want to accomplish. I saw The Biggest Loser last night and it shocked me at how some of these people were still so young. It's shocking that it could easily be me soon.

2008 Goals
1. Lose that last 15 by May. (Not super ambitious, but it is the LAST 15, so it's that much harder

)
2. Run a 5k in April
3. Run a 1/2 Marathon in November! (I am not a runner, so this is fairly ambitious for me.)
Good luck to everyone on their goals! Love this board.

I started out around 215 somewhere, I'm not entirely sure cuz I had a baby by c-section. That was on July 25 2007. All I can remember is that before I had my daughter I was 240. After I had my daughter I can't say because they didn't weigh me until my six week check up(where I weighed 206). I wore my maternity clothes at the time because of the surgery so I can't say what size I was, but I'm guessing a very tight 18.
Today I'm a size 12 and I weigh 174 lbs. My goal is to get to 150 lbs and see how I look before I go any thinner. I've been chubby all my life so I don't know how I look thinner than a size 10. I don't want to look too thin but at the same time I dont want to be at the topmost place of where my weight should be. But either way, I'd say I'll hit my goals in 2008. Whether I decide 150 lbs is perfect or to go 5 lbs less or even 10 lbs less. I just hope I lose more of my butt and stop losing in my face! Here's a recent pic of me. I don't have any of me without my kids blocking me. LOL Sorry!(The site may be down right now anyone know another one I can upload it on?)

My wife and I set a goal to lose 107.5 lbs together by June 1st. We have come to the realization that we aren't getting any younger and the longer we put it off the harder it is going to get. Since we have been married, we have gained a total of 122 lbs (together). I am currently at 6'3 240 and want to get to 195. She is at 5'2 197 and wants to get to 135.
We knew this was going to be difficult for us as we have a really busy life with 3 kids (2 play travel and school basketball). This keeps us on the road from Nov - April and makes eating out a necessity at times. I have confidence that we will make our goals. To keep us on the right track, we decided to put our dirty laundry (all 107.5 lbs of it!) out in public (we started a Blog). Our hopes being that if a ton of people see what we are doing, it will keep us honest(and give us some support). It is tough to put it all out there, but in the end, I hope it works. And maybe in doing so, we can help someone else along the way.

Awww, what a cutie baby! I had a c-section, and wore my maternity clothes for months too. My c-section actually split open, and I had to be stuffed with gauze while it healed from the inside on up. Really nasty stuff, so I couldn't do anything physically active or wear tighter clother for a while.
Good job on all your success so far, and good luck on your upcoming goals!

I'm hitting my goal in 2008 *raises hand*
Hopefully by June, but
definitely before the year is out... only 50 more lbs. to go!
I started out wearing a 20W; I'm now a comfy/loose 14 and can even squeeze into a 10 if I don't mind damaging internal organs

My goal weight is 145, however I think now I'm looking more toward a goal
size - I'd like to be a 6. If 145 gets me there, great. If not, I might take it further. I'll have to see as I get closer.

I've been a yo-yo ever since I was about 14 years old. Two years ago, I lost 39lbs, but I unfortunately gained it back. I started watching TBL last season and everyone, and I mean everyone on the show inspired me to join the gym. I don't have nearly as much weight to lose as most of the contestants (only 45-50lbs) so I thought that if they could do it, then so could I. I haven't stepped on a scale since I started working out; I've gotta get the courage to do that. I have to say that my stamina on the eliptical trainer is building, and that I'm enjoying lifting weights. I believe that this is my year.
Now I just have to focus on my nutrition. You guys will be my support this time around!!!

Hurray for everyone reaching their goal in 2008 and hurray for those that are continuing this journey throughout the year. I'm determined to reach my goal at the end of April or May but ultimately I don't care how long it takes. I've been on this journey since March 31st, almost three years ago, and I've experienced many ups and downs with exercise, temptations, plateaus and motivation. I never lost faith that I could be successful in this even when I would go 4 months without losing. I started at 260 (I'm 5' 5") and I'm currently 148. I've come a very long way, both mentally and physically, but I still have a little bit further until I reach my goal of 125, most importantly I want to be comfortable and happy with my body. (Most of the time I am right now so I know I'm really that much closer, no matter the number.) The last 25 lbs were extremely difficult to take off, but little by little it happened. I'm sure the next 25 are going to be just as difficult but I'm going to add to my exercise (do lunges and squats whenever I can) and incorporate more fiber into my diet and see if the results are better.

And ouch! I'm lucky that didn't happen to me! I didn't listen at all to the no lifting rule! Or the taking it easy rule! I kept cleaning house when I wasn't supposed to and picked up my two year old when I wasn't supposed to.

I have made mini goals I figure it will be easier to get to them
and I have also decided to give myself a reward with each goal
every time I lose a specific amount of weight I am going to get another tattoo , I just got my first and have a list of 5 more that I want
also I want to put a 1.00 away for every pound as an incentive to reach my goal , to put towards my new cloths I will have to buy , I also want to be able to go bike riding with my kids that is my BIGGEST GOAL to be able to have active fun with my children.

Started 2008 at 292 lbs with high blood pressure and way way out of shape. I am happy to report as 2008 comes to a close i am at 196 and a lean mean fighting machine with all of my health readings in the right range!
It was great to watch the finale and realize that I am right up there with those on the show in terms of achievement. The biggest hurdle for me to clear was the mental part and the discipline. Once I mastered that, there was NO LOOKING BACK!

Second of all, I got a new full time job. I kept my part time job as well, so I'm working close to 12 hours a day and continuing to fit in my workouts. On top of that, I'm taking a class to become better trained to do my new job. I've been quite busy. I've missed posting here, but I come nearly everyday and read what everyone else has been posting. Thank you so much. It was a great holiday, shocking some members of my family who haven't seen me since I started losing weight!
I got the new DVD's -- TBL Power Sculpt and Yoga, along with Jillian's 30 Day Shred. I'm not much for DVD's but with my limited exercise time, I thought these might do the trick when I'm at home.
I want to hear other people's goals too -- we CAN do this!!
(By the way, Lyn2007, getting into a normal BMI range is a goal of mine too. I finally got out of the "obese" category recently and nearly threw myself a party. Who would have ever thought that I'd be excited to be called "overweight?")
