Full Version: Heroes computer video game
NBC > Primetime > Heroes > General Heroes Discussion
Craigisdead
Well as some of us know, there is a Heroes video game coming out some time and it is being published by Ubisoft, so I say we discuss what we would like to see in it, ideas for it and more.

Me?

Heroes

Name: Heroes
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
Picture format: 720p native (upscaled to 1080i/p)
Genre: First person adventre / puzzle
Modes: Single player, online co-op, multiplayer and online multiplayer
Rating: ERSB: M
Platform: Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

Gameplay

The gameplay of the Heroes video game would be in first person, though would combine many adventure aspects and puzzles elements. Think Metroid Prime mixed with Half-life 2. Players would be able to use their physical strength, weapons or abilties in combat. Some characters would have a higher physical strength than others, though not as good abilties. There is not that much concentration on weapons (more on abilties) though some of the weapons include a drain pipe, sword etc. There are vehicles in the game, though they are not primarly used for combat, although enemies can be run over.

The user does not play as a character from the series (though the main cast do make cameos and appearances), instead, they play as a custom created characters. Players can customize their avatar right down to facial details and can also balance the avatar's abilities. Users do not necessarily choose for their avatar to be good or evil, though the campaign storyline and ending can be changed by the user's decisions. Players can commit good acts, self-promotion acts, bad acts, great acts, humble acts and evil acts.

Campaign

Heroes' campaign consists of 10 chapters, each lasting roughly 35-45 minutes. The campaign can be played alone or played co-operativly via xbox live or the playstation network. The storyline throughout the levels change depending on actions taken, and different parts of the levels are activated by making certain decisions, so players can have different experiences by taking different routes each time they start the game over again.

Chapter I: Wake up
Chapter II: Gabriel
Chapter III: Theories
Chapter IV: I'm So Sorry
Chapter V: Sleep
Chapter VI: Boiled Frogs
Chapter VII: Full Moon
Chapter VIII: Everything
Chapter IX: It's Time
Chapter X: Cockroaches

Multiplayer

On a single console, up to two players can play campaign and up to four can participate in a versus multiplayer match through use of split screen. Through use of LAN or Xbox Live, up to four players can play together in campaign and up to sixteen can participate in versus multiplayer matches.

Multiplayer matches are very different from playing in campaign. In Multiplayer matches, players have a choice between various gameplay modes such as; Save the Cheerleader, Free For All, and Team Deathmatch. Save the Cheerleader is much like a VIP game variant in most games, were players have to defend one person (the cheerleader) whilst eliminating the other team's chearleader. Free For All is were it is everyone for themselves and Team Deathmatch is where players work in teams.

There are 5 levels to play in multiplayer mode and they are:

- Paper Factory
- Rooftops
- New York
- Ground Zero (not in main Heroes Storyline)
- Chambers (not in main Heroes Storyline)

Players are awarded points for doing well in multplayer matches (and deducted for bad playing) which can be spent in the in-game store were you can buy new powers for your character, clothes, and exclusive videos and cast interviews.

Xbox Live / Playstation Network

Via Xbox Live or the Playstation Networks, players are able to download new items, in-game content, chapters for the storyline and new multiplayer maps. A month after the game's initial release, an expansion pack would be available featuring new multiplayer maps and new chapters for the storyline for a certain amount of Microsoft Points.

Visuals

The visuals in Heroes are made by a game engine licensed by Ubisoft. The game has High lighting effects (HDR), motion blur and depth of field.

Audio

The game's audio is composed by Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman and there is new material just for the game, though old material used in the show makes casual appearances. All characters in the game are voiced by their original actors, and there is lots of dialouge in the game.

Versions

The game could come in two versions. The standard edition and the collecter's edition. The collecter's edition comes in a round case with the heroes eclipse logo on it and comes with with a "making-of" featurette DVD, a heroes poster, a sneak preview of the next season and a bonus in-game item.

So what do you think? Please go light on me I just joined...lol and oh PLEASE discuss your own ideas and concepts! Thank you.

This is all I'm going to post of my Idea for now. I've been thinking of an idea for a Heroes game for a while. I'll post the whole thing when I have it all on paper and orginized.

Heroes

Name: Heroes
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
Genre: Adventur/Fighting
Modes: Single Player- Story, Campaign, Free/ Multiplayer- Story, Campaign, Battle/ Online- Battle
Rating: ERSB: T
Platform: Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

Versions

The game could come in two versions. Just the game and the collector's edition. The game comes in a case, that reads Heroes in the eclipse logo with a black background box art. The collector's edition comes in a medium-sized box, that has a design like the box art. The collector's edition includes the Heroes game, an exclusive poster, a Heroes skin(for the console the game comes for), an exclusive Heroes controller(for the console the game comes for).

Just the game= $59.99

Collector's edition= $99.99

Expansion packs(think zoo tycoon), would be available, when a new season finishes, to update your game with data from the new season, to keep up with the show. You will still use the original disk to play the game, and gameplay will not change. You will copy the data on the expansion pack to the original disk.

Expansion packs will cost $29.99

How do you like it, so far?

Hopefully they don't make it PVP like City Of Heroes. THAT would be a freakin headache.

1) You have a chance to play every character to help save the world.

2) There are obstacles to pass and every character has to use their powers in different ways to overcome them.

3) Multiplayer is fine but there have to guidelines to follow otherwise it becomes a retarded slaughterfest. You either play a Hero, cool.gif a Company Man or Sylar. Heroes try to use their powers without anyone around. If Sylar or a Company Man spot you using them you become a target. A Company Man wins by capturing ALL SG's in the current game, a Hero wins by completing all of their missions without being killed or caught and Sylar wins by killing ALL Heroes in the game.

4) Beating the game opens hidden Heroes/Villains to play.

Only issue I see is that so many of the abilities don't really translate to a video game.

Elle, Monica, Maya and a few others have powers that would enable W-Men Legends type gameplay, but Matt, Claire, Hiro (unless you count the actual reset button) don't.

They've introduced the concept of invulnerability, that doesn't work in video games.

hiro can, he has a sword. i guess claire would just have increased life or just be that cheerleader you have to save, and matt can have a gun and know where all the enemies are and can have data on the screen telling you where the enemy is going to move next.
