Jeremy Sisto joins the esteemed cast of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning drama "Law & Order," as it returns for its 18th season on Sundays beginning in January 2008. Sisto will play veteran Detective Ed Green’s (Jesse L. Martin) new partner.
The Chicago native began his theatrical career early when he appeared onstage at the Goodman Theater in a production of Tennessee Williams' last play, "A House Not Meant to Stand," as well as Bertolt Brecht's "Galileo," opposite Brian Dennehy.
In Los Angeles, Sisto's theater credits include: Richard Greenburg's Tony Award-winning play "Take Me Out" at the Geffen Playhouse (his performance earned him a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Featured Performance) and Sidney Kingsley's "Dead End" at the Ahmanson Theater. Sisto also recently made his Broadway debut in the play "Festen," a stage adaptation of Thomas Vintenberg's film "The Celebration."
Sisto was part of the esteemed cast of HBO's award-winning drama series "Six Feet Under," in which he played the role of Billy Chenoweth for five seasons. His other television credits include the leads in two widely viewed miniseries -- "Jesus" and "Julius Caesar."
On the feature-film side, Sisto's credits include "Thirteen" (opposite Holly Hunter), "Grand Canyon," "Clueless," "Without Limits," "White Squall," "Suicide Kings," "May," "Angel Eyes" and "Hideaway."
Sisto also starred in and co-produced the independent film "One Point O," which played in the Sundance Film Festival dramatic competition.
Sisto's recent films include the dramatic thriller, "Unknown," with Jim Caviezel; the edgy drama, "Broken," opposite Heather Graham; and the late Adrienne Shelley's "Waitress," the Sundance Film Festival hit comedy in which he stars opposite Keri Russell.

I thought he and Jesse Martin were great together. I have always liked him on other shows. Although on this one he is more subdued. He looks great, very healthy.
They were all just too robotic....Somebody has dropped the ball...for being a season premiere i was very dissapointed...i hope Criminal intent is better.

I wasn't disappointed at all. I thought it was interesting in the way that "L&O" introduced Jeremy's character, by making him the brother of a murder victim. It was nice to see him eased in that way. I've seen his work on another NBC show for which I can't remember the name right now. But he was fabulous in that show, so I'm thrilled he is back with the NBC family.

I believe he was in the miniseries "The 60's" He was Jordana Brewster's anti-establishment, bomb-making boyfriend. I'm happy to see him on L&O. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. It was getting boring there for awhile. I just hope that the promotion of Sam Waterston to D.A. is not a step away from leaving L&O.

He was on "Six Feet Under" but the role for which I most remember him --and which was OMITTED in his bio, BTW-- was that of Lucien Knapp in the ill-fated, poorly promoted "Kidnapped" on NBC last year! The show was AMAZING! I finally got the DVD set and watched it all again. I know the full (13 episode) series was available for online viewing for a while.
Anyway, I loved Sisto in the new role and hope the season is as good as the first two episodes this season!

I think Sisto is going to be an intriguing addition to the cast. I'm looking forward to the season's action sequences with two young cops partnered together. I think they complement each other really well and they both have great presence. Lt. summed it up perfectly when said that 2 cops that like to work alone are now going to be partners.

I was a fan of L&O from day one, but haven't watched much over the past year because it seemed to have lost its spark. I tuned in for the premiere because I loved Sisto in Kidnapped and I was thrilled with him on Law and Order. Great chemistry with Jesse Martin. Loved it.

Lord, I wish he'd shave! Either grow a beard, or get up a little bit earlier in the morning and get the razor out! I hat that look on any man-it looks sloppy and unprofessional in any job. What is it with actors thinking this is a hot look?
ER is another show I have this problem with-I've talked to a lot of doctors, who say, that any intern or resident who came to work looking like that, would be sent home immediately. Ugh.
BUT...Jeremy Sisto is good in this character, and he and Jesse Martin are good together. I loved him on 6 Feet Under-what a kook he was!
I do think the way his character joined the series was odd. I bet to come back to the NYPD would in real life, takes reams of paperwork and weeks, if not months of red tape. I wish when they introduce a new character, they get a little more real.

Hey folks. It's only been one episode so far so let's see where the writers take the new LT's character over the next few weeks.
As an add to Kidnapped and 6 feet under, Jeremy was good as "obnoxious" husband Earl in the movie Waitress.

What strikes me the most is how untidy his hair looks. He needs a brush or a comb more than a razor.

It's good to see someone else who thinks that Kidnapped was a wonderful show that can be viewed again (& again) since it is that good. So frustrated when it got canceled and lame brained shows continue to play on year after year.
Sisto is that good. I believe Law & Order just got the shot in the arm that it needed. Feels like Green & Lupo work pretty well together, even if neither of them is the 'pretty partner".

Well, I agree that he does look like he just rolled out of bed. Yet he's smart and on the money re his 'brooding cop who stands in the background, jumping in when he's least expected with a disarming question' routine . Maybe the 'look' is part of his sceme to throw people off. Assume he's unorganized, let down your guard and he's got you.
Personally, I think his messy hair is a result of my fingers running through it....er...uhm...did I say that out loud? lol

Agree. These guys make more sense in the real world not being pretty. Even though a perfect record of wins for the Pats might have meant they just had to win the Superbowl, being pretty does not mean you do win the Superbowl, right?

Seems Cyrus was in top form with the sarcasm, last night. ( " We always find them", as he stares into a dumpster at a body).Guess he's seen enough to know that that girl was not going to be found alive. I like that darkness that he deals with, makes the character a straight shooter. He must be enjoying the role.Jeremy seems to enjoy playing characters with brooding dark sides. Can't deny he's good at it.
And for those who, in the past, have made comments about his disheveled appearance, looks like the previews for next week reveal a trim in Cyrus' future. Not sure who suggested that ..the NYPD or Dick Wolf?? grin.

I would have to agree with you because he always have this sneaky side of him.. He always comes out of no where with his ideas and Green keeps its "old school" because a steak out u sit and wait and Lupo is like "were gonna get the them no matter what it takes". Hopefully that when he teams up with anderson it will be the same. You guys saw the one last week were lupo gave the little boy the note to give to the girl. No one in their right mind would do that.. like i said before Lupo has his plans and how he will deal with them!

SPOILER:
Love Jeremy in the new role. I just saw the season finale from last year and it was funny to see Jeremy as the defense attorney. He must have lost weight for Lupo, because he looks completely different. I used to love L&O for it's stories, now I love to watch it for Lupo. I see a love triangle developing between Lupo, Cutter and Connie (Check out "Quit Claim" and "Submission"). I'm just sad that Green may be leaving. Green and Lupo have great chemistry.

Oh, wow. You have my thoughts exactly. I think his looking disheveled at times is a major part of his appeal. Although he looks great cleaned up too. There are so many examples of him being bare chested and scruffy (Thirteen, Six Feet Under, Waitress to name a few), and it totally works!

I don't think they are airing the episodes in the order they were filmed which might explain the on again, off again beard. Remember Cyrus showed a picture of his dog on his phone to a women at a cyber cafe but then in the next episode he was talking about geting a dog and at the end is when it showed him walking the dog ( the same dog that was in the picture the week before).

I am very happy with the new additions to L&O. I really like the addition of Jeremy Sisto. He is an excellent foil to Jesse Martin. Finally, Ed Green gets to have more screen time, better scenes & better lines.
I hated the girl last year and Dennis Farina stole every scene. The last good cast on L&O IMHO was with Lenny Brisco.
Also, I never thought anyone could replace Sam Waterson. But I was really surprised at how much I liked Mike Cutter's character.
I am enjoying L&O more this year than I have in a long time.

The addition of Jeremy Sisto to L&O is the only reason I am watching this year. I became a fan when he was on the short-lived Kidnapped series in '06. Recently got the DVD set and love it!
The appeal for me is the scruffy look and sarcastic sense of humor. His - do what you have to to find the truth and deal with the consequences later - attitude. Adds a little drama and comic relief. They can't all be straight shooters - that's just boring.
If your looking for entertainment, Lupo and Green make a good team. If your looking for accuracy and realism, you may be disappointed.
Sorry to hear Martin is leaving the show. I watched Anderson in K-ville (another cancelled show) and thought he was good. I enjoyed that show from an entertainment perspective. I know a lot of people would love to argue with me on that point. But let's give Anderson a shot. He may surprise us. With Lupo as a partner, it will at least be fun to watch.
Roache as Cutter is another great addition. He is the best replacement for McCoy if there had to be one. He was perfect in Kidnapped, also.
I am a new poster to these boards, but have been reading them for awhile now. Just wanted to join in the fun.

I watched JS in "Broken" w/Heather Graham. His character was a crazy, drugged-out, energy-vampire...Yet, I was still attracted to him!!!! What does that say about me? UGH!
Anyway, I was home reading and I finished my book so I turned on the TV and there he was! I really didn't know anything about him except he was the crazy one from "Broken", but I was ssssoooo happy to see him on L&O-I used to watch it years ago but stopped.
Since I've discovered him on L&O, I have to be home 2x a week to watch him! Kinda feeling 12 again!
My husband asked (After watching "Broken") "Do you have a crush on that crazy guy now"? I just laughed and said "That just proves what a great actor he is!"...
This is a great place to catch up because I'm really not sure who is who yet...Everyone here has a great sense of humor, too-Thanks!
I've told my girlfriends about him and now they watch too!
Jeremy has the same sexual vibe as Jim Morrison...I love him!

It wasn't my thing either, maybe because he ended up in a body bag. Who knows?
Speaking of roles where you don't expect to see him. I recently caught the movie "A Lot Like Love". He's only in it for about 10 minutes but its a decent role. 'Guy who gets dumped'. Listen, I don't know know why anyone would dump a guy who loks like JS but I'm willing to comfort him after the break up, you know?

I like Jeremy Sisto, but the show truly needs to bring Greene & Branch back..The show just doesn't seem the same anymore w/o Greene & with Jack not prosecuting the cases anymore, I know this show has been on forever it seems & I am a huge fan, but don't really care for the new people. This is exactly what I used to think of Ben Stone. When he left I didn't watch the show for a long time since Jack, to me, just couldn't measure up. Well, after a good long while I realised this Jack Mc Coy guy wasn't so bad , afterall. Stick with it maybe you might expereince the conversion ,too. (grin)
