Well I watched 'Mental' and 'The Listener'.

'Mental' was meh, okay. Not bad. The main guy is semi-interesting but I doubt I'll watch that show on a regular basis.

'The Listener' was lousy. Give me a decent leading man guys! Jeez. He's boring and not attractive.
flyingchimp
i dont like mental, which is surprising, considering that i like medical shows. I even (god forbid) liked GA for a while. Its a little too new agey for me.

Yeah, I have a mental disorder and when he was advocating taking a schizophrenic off his meds I was like, oh hell no. That's ridiculous. You can't hug it out dude. The man is crazy.

I could slowly develop a mental disorder thanks to my boss! Maybe gain a split personality to escape it!

I wanna watch Saved by the Bell cause Zack Morris was on Jimmy Fallon show. tongue.gif
flyingchimp
yeah... the best combo for any kind of mental disorder are meds and therapy. What he was going for though, made sense. He was basically detoxing the guy in a controlled environment, then switching his regime to something that worked better. Meds do lose effectiveness after a while, and sometimes new drugs are developed. The guy wasnt against drugs, just wanted to try new ones. But yeah...he's insane.

Luv supernatural...but why did I walk away thinking that they're going to end it with sort of a Sam is the anti-christ and Dean is christ format?
awesomeme2
i think mental might be interesting but i think it's too early to tell
BrownEyedBeauty
hahah watching it right now. I agree it's not great, but at least it's something new for the summer... the listener started already? Meh, I wasn't THAT interested in it you guys say it's not worth it, I prolly won't watch it...

BUT yeah!!! In Plain Sight is finally new again, and USA's new one Royal Pains is a total WIN....

Can't wait for Psych to come back in July... which will get me to Fall when everything else starts up again...

Well I thought he was gonna be the anti-christ but then Kripke took a weird turn on me right at the end of Lucifer Rising and it looks like Sam stopped being a douche (little late unfortunately.)

Although, we still have never really gotten down to why John said Dean either had to save Sam or kill him. It may have been about stopping Sam from breaking the seal but then again it may be something yet to come. If Dean is the modern Archangel Michael then is Sam going to turn out to be Lucifer's vessel? Or has Sam suddenly gotten his crap straight and playing for the right team again?

I like to think they are past the Sam's a jerk part and it won't end up brother against brother again.
flyingchimp
^ I just think that the whole thing is kinds ironic, considering that dean is more of a traditional 'bad boy' and sammy is the 'goody two shoes. ' which they aren't, but it just seems that way at first glimpse.

Personally, I wouldn't mind evil Sam, but I do think that dean would double cross anyone who dared to mess with him, meaning that if the angels screw with li'l sammy, they're going to have a giant can of whoop ass to deal with from dean.

They may end up on opposite sides, but I don't think they'll work against each other. In terry pratchet and neil gaimen's Good Omens, they have a demon and angel working together as friends in a non cheesy way. The demon also drives a great car... But yeah. But my point is that Sam be dean could be on common sides, but united with a common goal. ( stopping the apocalypse)

I don't think Dean can be down with Sam playing darkside for whatever reason now.
Seems like the major difference between Dean and Sam this past season has been that although they both had good intentions, Dean felt there were lines you did not cross and that you couldn't fight evil with evil. Any questions he had about right and wrong got cleared up for him in hell I think. I think Dean still loves Sam every bit as much as he ever did but that he will be very firm about what is and isn't acceptable and that you have to do the right thing to save the world, you can't beat the devil without some sort of integrity. Right down there at the end it was clear to me that while Dean still loved Sam and wanted to save him, he wasn't going to be down with Sam using the demon powers. He drew a hard line and he tried to save Sam (and the world) from himself, not go along with his plan.

However, I don't think that will be too much an issue because I think Sam is gonna straighten up now and if anything will be terribly remorseful for what he unwittingly wrought. Also, he's gonna spend like half the season in the shower cuz it'll take alot of soap to get the Ruby cooties off. *shivers* I feel like the only way we'll see evil Sam is if he's possessed. Not that a bit of evil Sam wouldn't be hot, but I prefer puppy Sam all the way....and I hate it when the boys fight.
flyingchimp
I love puppy Sam too, and I do think he's repentant, but how far has he gone down the demonic path? It may be impossible for him to change. Dean would sacrifice some of his own morals rather than lose Sam.

I don't know...he kicked Sam to the curb last time. Then he was determined to save him but was only trying to talk him out of his plan, not join in.

I could be wrong but it seemed like they were saying Sam's powers were gone now..he'd used them all up on Lilith.
flyingchimp
I thought that they really meant that Sam was drained for the minute, not that his powers were gone forever. The issue was dropped for a while after the yellow eyed demon, but then resurfaced when Sam realized that it wasn't gone.
(ack sorry for crappy explaination and spelling, brain dead.)

Won't the angels pressure Sam to do some bad stuff? I mean, Lucifer is out there now, there's nothing out there that Sam could do that would rival him. They had no hesitation making Dean do some pretty dodgy things. Torturing a demon? Dean said that it would change him, but I guess we havent seen it yet.

Eventually, Dean is going to get completely fed up with the buckets of crap that the angels are spewing out. If he had to pick between Sam and the angels, Sam would come first. Yeah, he kicked Sam out... but it was like a timeout. It wasn't anything pernament. In S1, in Scarecrow, Sam was the one who left Dean, and Dean was the first one to break down and call. Not that they havent changed, but Dean is going to follow a series of patterns... and since he cant make Sam happy, (which is what he was trying to attempt,) he'll go for safe. As shown in What Is, And What Should Never Be, Dean has no problem sacrificing his own happiness to make sure that Sam is safe. Also, the whole soul bargaining thing. Dean has given too much up for Sam to separate from him.

My point is that whatever Sam does, if it is against Deans own morals, he is going to argue, and drag his feet a bit, but eventually become an accesory to the crime. When Sam was possessed, and they didnt know what was going on, Born under a Bad Sign, Dean covered up a murder for Sam. Kinda dodgy my friend. Finally, he put up with Ruby, all cuz of Sam. If it were up to Dean alone, that bitch would have been dead, a LONG time ago. Sam has a bit more pull over what Dean thinks than both of them think... hmm... Dean could follow Sam to Perdition. smile.gif

I don't think he'll become an accesory. He refused to this season with the Ruby let's kill Lillith thing and especially the powers thing. No matter how hard Sam tried to convince him, Dean stuck to his guns on that. I think he'll always protect Sam but I don't think he'll follow him down the primrose path.

The angels are hinky. Some are good and like people (Castiel), some are straight up evil (Uriel) but then there seems to be alot of them that are like screw people and God we wanna play WAR! (Zachariah). So yes, seems some of the angels we've met have been doing wrong by Dean and manipulating Castiel into manipulating Dean and telling him God wants stuff done that isn't true. With the exception of Cass, I don't think they can trust the angels. But I think Dean wanted desperately to do 'the right thing' and stop the Apocalypse and be on God's side.

You're right about Sam's powers. They just haven't given us enough information yet to know whether he still has them or not. He might.

SUPERNATURAL CASTING NEWS - It's being reported that Lucifer will be played by the guy who played Jacob on Lost. If it's true...that would be really good casting in my opinion. Cuz that guy was creepy as hell even when he was supposedly a good guy (though I'm still not convinced Jacob is the good guy.)
evilisgood
Mark Pellegrino! He also played on Dexter as a drug-addicted wife-beater. Good actor.

Is there a good guy on Lost? At all? tongue.gif
flyingchimp
SAWYER! CHARLIE!

Stopped watching Lost after the third season...
evilisgood
Sawyer isn't a good guy. He's morally gray. Charlie... yeah Charlie. He was good. And Hurley is, too, actually. So never mind. tongue.gif

Jin also I would classify as good. What Sawyer lacks in moral rectitude and politeness he makes up for in sexy and shirtlessness and attitude and hillbilliness so he is the best guy ever. lol

On another note.....FINALLY caught up to date on Harper's Island. It's actually turning out really good and I'm glad they decided to let it play out instead of just pulling the rest of the episodes when it got cancelled.

Still rooting for the killer though. Definitely now that Sheriff Bobby, Cal, and Chloe (the only sympathetic characters on the show) are dead. I will forgive Wakefield for offing them (well he didn't get Chloe) as long as he kills of those emo losers that are left. 'Specially the main character.

I think the killer's sidekick(kid?) is either the bride or groom...Henry or Trish.
SylarCutMeOpen
I love Harper's Island!!! It is sooo Trish!!! she was the one who wanted to get married there it was all her idea it is so her....

I have a question about Lost. Okay, at the beginning, all they had to eat was fruit and...stuff. It was months before they discovered the pantry of Fast Food. How did Hurley not lose weight? How?

Well they also had fish and wild boar thanks to Jin and Locke. And it was only 45 days before they broke into the hatch and found the huge Dharma stash of food (then there was a Dharma airdrop of more food) which Hurley took a bunch of and hoarded in the woods.

But yeah, he still shouldn't have been that weight and the actor did try to lose weight between S1 and S2, started too, and then shot back up. Just one of those things where the actor couldn't do it and so they just ignore it for the most part. Nothing to be done for it.
flyingchimp
Then that works. But...but... *shakes head*
On a related note, there should be more scars on the boys in SPN!
SylarCutMeOpen
ewww scars r grotesque....i hope they dont ruin Deans beauty....
flyingchimp
Chest ones! Make more pretty!
SylarCutMeOpen

SylarCutMeOpen
