"Executioner"
BEING AT THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME PROVES TO BE DEADLY FOR ONE SURGEON -Dr. Mark Burns (guest star Alan Zweibel) is found murdered in his hotel room while attending a out-of-town convention. Detectives Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) learn that Dr. Burns' made a large withdrawal from his bank account moments before he was murdered. Evidence rules out the con artists who scammed Burns as suspects, but a hotel surveillance tape shows a man with a southern accent vehemently knocking on the door looking for a different physician, Dr. Garrison (guest star James Rebhorn). This finding leads the detectives to believe Dr. Garrison may have been the intended target and his life is still at risk. Also Starring: Sam Waterston, S. Anyone know why Ed just called Cyrus 'Joe'?

The guy that came in with the paper called the old guy with the white hair Joe; they just didn't switch the camera to him.

Riveting show. One of their best. It's amazing just how good this show is, even after all these years.
I like the move of McCoy to DA. It opens up a lot of possiblities.

Good to see Alan Zweibel again. I haven't seen him since his "SNL" days way back when he did stuff like the "Spud Beer" parody. Great episode. Still on top of the game.

Really enjoyed the show. I've been watching since the pilot first aired in 1991, and then tuned out when Fred Thompson came on board (sorry, he just didn't seem credible as a NY DA--maybe they should have spun off a series based in the south). I like the new cast. McCoy as DA seems to be paying homage to Adam Schiff, the new ADA Cutter is a younger version of McCoy, Rubirosa is a combination of Claire Kincaid & Jamie Ross (I know--I was one of the few fans that liked her), and Jeremy Sisto's Det. Lupo fits right in. I was sorry to hear that Jesse Martin is not coming back. I really liked his character. Hopefully the new guy will work out.

Greetings,
I hope someone can help me. I missed the L&O episode that aired two days ago (20 Feb 08). I thought I could view it online at nbc.com, but they only have 2-minute recaps. I have searched everywhere. Does anyone know if I can view it online? If so, where? If not, does another network (USA) do replays of recent L&O episodes? What is the schedule? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Law and Order is not available for on-line viewing however, NBC has been re-broadcasting the episodes. Just watch this episode thread and when it is set to appear on the schedule again we will post that here.

Ok, first off big fan of the show since way back ....
not to happy about this Cyrus Lupo guy tho. His actions just scream, im an actor playing a cop and i didnt do any background with real cops but i did watch a lot of dragnet as a study giude. In this epi he picks up a broken bottle with blood and ?? brain on it ..... a little bit later he touches his eyebrow with his plastic gloves on. EWWWWWW yuck. I suggest he practice wearing gloves on covered with syrup or peanut butter as a study guide to learn not to do stuff like that.
anyways ... reason i am posting is anybody have the name of guy that held for trial that did the murder .... i cant place him but oh so familiar. The father of the murder victim from south carolina.

I agree with you on Ruirosa. Her character is a nice mix between the two. I also agree with you about Jamie Ross character ... But I heard that Anthony Anderson formely of K-Ville may take Jesse Martins place ... That would be great if true. he was on a couple of SVU episodes as a Sex Crimes detective from Queen and did a great job.

Okay, so to bring up a thought on an old topic (which is why I brought it up here, because it takes place in this episode)... I was re-watching the episode executioner and I noticed that Michael Cutter seems to have some sort of an issue with the death penalty... He seems to be for it on some level, which is awfully odd for his seemingly liberal character. This suggests to me that perhaps he had some sort of run in with it in some way... Maybe someone he knew was murdered at some point. We don't really know too much about his character's past to know for certain, but I think it might be interesting for us to speculate (that is if you guys noticed this too)...
