Knight 3k ford commercial, way to blow it!
I just watched enough of what is obviously a two hour ford commercial, I didn't see a single other vehicle brand. I don't like being tricked into watching commercials, and I was doubly disappointed because I enjoyed the original series and had thought NBC would have shouldered a bit of the cost to produce a quality show rather than have Ford pay the way for two hours of product placement.
Tv is in dire need of quality programming, with good writing, wit, drama, laughs, etc etc..
why is it the only innovative programming is comming out of HBO's stables?
Please try again with this series, only this time write a show not a commercial.

KR - NOT a commercial
If this was a commercial, then the original was too. Seriously, look at any episode from the original and it will show the car like it did here. Every opening it showed KITT's dash, speed, surveillance meter, wheels, sides, flying by the camera, its red scanner, THEN Michael/KITT will talk and the show will begin.
The only difference in this is it had the cobra on the car

Knight Rider was TERRIBLE, FORD COMMERCIAL
First off I thought the show was bad. Terrible acting all the way around. The story was fine, but it was rushed. Tired of CGI being the answer to everything. KITTS dash looks like something created from MS Paint. At least the original dash looked realistic.
Now being realistic, the show has to be reinvented. So gets a Mustang, fine. Its not the end of the world. Well wait actually I think it is if Ford is taking over. Hell, mikes race car is a shelby in the garage. How many ford commercials do we need? Did anyone enjoy the 2 hour ford commercial?
Will Arnett would have been better than Val Kilmer. If the show goes to a series no way that flakey actor will stay around. Its hard enough for him to make movies. The whole nano thing is stupid. What happens to KITT's shell, that never had a problem? Do not like how the show has turned into Knight Rider, meets Airwolf, meets Viper.
Ford selling a Shelby mustang was the only thing accomplished tonight. Can someone please bring back Glen Larson?

Knight Rider, The Premier
Ok I'll admit the new Knight Rider is a really hot car. But the premier I'll have to agree was a Ford commercial the whole premier including the commercials. Everwhere I looked I saw a Ford except of course the vehicle that wrecks against KITT. That was a obvious GMC. I guess Ford did not want to wreck a Ford.
Anyways the show sucked. I'm a serious fan. Been there from the begining. This movie lacked any action concerning KITT doing what KiTT is famous for, jumps and so much more. He went fast, can morph and stop bullets. But that was all we saw KITT do, how lame. Again I guess Ford did not want to wreck any Ford's.
1 big Ford commercial with no KITT action. What kinda of premier is that? The other premier awhile back had more KITT action and KITT looked alot more technologically advanced. And that premier was not a Pontiac commercial.
A good starting point for this series but it lacked so much of what made Knight Rider so fun to watch and cool. I sure wish they would have had David Hasselhoff drive up in the old KITT, that would have been cool. Now I sit here and have more questions. What happened to the original KITT, and what happened to the other red Pontiac KITT ahwile back? Can anyone answer that? I sure would love to know. To many unanswered questions, 1 big Ford commercial and no real KITT action.

I agree completely... I can accept it being a Ford, but how is it every other car a Ford. They should have just gone full blown and made the scientist an engineer instead working at a Ford plant.
If the goal for Ford was to sell more Mustang (Shelbys)... they did an awful job. The Ford VAN chasing them uphill going 100+ mph, and it handled just as well as the Mustang did for a solid 10 minutes. That's really sad.
Maybe the show is a big commercial to sell that super Van?

Are you seriously kidding me? Your biggest complaint is the commercials? I happened to enjoy the comercial web connection. It was unique to anything that I have ever seen before. The acting, IMO, was not bad either. It wasn't Emmy material but there is still room for improvment. Some of the actors in the show I have never heard of. They may need to get a feel for what they are doing. I thought it was great that David Hasselhof had a brief apperance in the show and ended up being Mike's father. From what I understand he was the original Knight Rider. I trully hope that it continues.
I know that not everyone is going to like the same thing but at least come up with a better argument rather then simply saying "the commercials sucked, Ford sucks, and the actors were bad."

The original didn't have a Pontiac contest, there were no manufacturer emblems to speak, it was inundated with annoying car commercials every break, and they didn't do a cheesy pan by the car outside a casino with advertisement style lighting just so the car looked sweet. Not to mention, the original didn't have every other GM car in it while the only Ford gets into a bad accident.

Personally, I think you misunderstand the main reasoning behind people calling the show a commercial; but maybe it's just the way I'm perceiving it.
Yes, they certainly glorified the mustang at every opportunity (except the interior..bland interior FTL) from a photography perspective, but the main thing they did was to limit just about every other single vehicle in the KR universe to being some kind of Ford aside from the Chevy used in the one accident.

I have to tell you that I, too, am VERY disappointed in the new “Knight Rider” movie. Are of NBC’s writers still on strike?? And are the actors, well at least the good ones anyway, afraid to cross the picket line still???
I was very much looking forward to the reincarnation of “Knight Rider”. But, alas, I must convey my total dismay and disappointment at the uninspiring, lackluster dialog; the flat, two-dimensional acting along with the terrible, trite, pedestrian clichés and teenage fantasy storylines.
Where is the snappy, edgy repertoire?? Why does it feel like each actor is performing separately instead of interacting with each other?? What happened to having chemistry between cast members???
This program is a total bust from the opening scenes when we meet the main characters until I gave up and turned off the television in favor of a good book. Well let’s see , in the opening scenes we get to meet the PIG of a hero; which NBC Executive’s sick teenage fantasy got to be played out in that scene???? What demographic is NBC targeting at it’s 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm time slot???
And then we move on to meet the FBI Agent. Well boys and girls, NBC is giving us a great upstanding character there; we get a promiscuous lesbian FBI Agent in the act of leaving the scene of a one night stand. Wow, I guess since you NBC doesn’t have any good writers and can’t get any actors that have even an iota of acting ability or any on-screen chemistry, NBC is trying to suck (and, oh no, I do NOT use this term lightly here) in viewers using every tried cliché and teenage fantasy available.
Television today has enough garbage on the air: terrible scripts; even worse acting, relying on special effects and violence to keep an audience entertained, and we don't need any new ones. I don’t know why, but I was expecting at least a little better from a remake of an old, but yet successful series.
