My daughter just turned 9 and really wants to audition for AGT. She received an e-mail to audition this weekend in Chicago, but I'm not sure. She has a mind like a sponge and can learn music very quickly. Any suggestions for audition pieces would be great. Here she is on youtube. Let me know what you think!!! THANKS!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr6yDW_zqlYif you decide to go for it, then pick 30 seconds of the best part of whatever song to start with and go from there. Make sure she knows it, and can do the song with complete confidence. Always have another song ready just in case they ask for a second. Let her have fun with her outfit and hair, ect. make it a really really fun day all together and celebrated the fun afterward with something special, her favorite dinner or ice cream. Let her be the star for the day and Enjoy it. If she plans on a career in music, this is a great teaching ground to artists for auditions. So make sure she understands about rejection and that it does not mean she isn't great if she isn't picked. You never ever put all your hopes and dreams in to an audition, and she just needs to be able to understand that completley so that her "will" to be a perfomer is not crushed if she isn't chosen. If she is choosing this as a career, that is. Either way, have a blast, these are tomorows memories that you are living today, make the most of it. I really miss my kids being little, And you never know , this might be her big break. Good luck, She's a realy sweet looking kid, and I can tell she loves to sing. I hope that helps in some way.
