I auditioned in Las Vegas with a dance routine. I later recieved emails wanting me to audition in Los Angeles, but did not attend because I had already auditioned and my family doesn't really have the money to send me to EVERY audition out there. I just hope that one audition is enough.

If I don't make it on America's Got Talent, does anyone know of a competition I could go to that would give me an oppertunity for college scholarships?

Shortly after I won a national championship, I joined my local high school dance/drill team. I was treated so badly by most of the members who were all from a different private team, and recieved many nasty letters and phone calls from people affiliated with this team after I was accepted as a member. My dad finally pulled me off the team because of how awful things were for me. Even if I was still on that team, they had refused to compete at ANY dance competitions, leaving me no oppertunity to go on to the national high school finals. An advisor for a high school dance/drill team in another town saw me at a dance competition, and when she heard about our situation, she told me that if I could switch schools, she would help get me to the national high school dance finals, where she thought I had a very good chance at a national championship and many scholarship opportunities, but in our area the winter season makes the roads very dangerous- especially before 6 in the morning, which is when I would be driving for 5 days a week.

I do not want to give out my name or where I am from because if I do make the finals on America's Got Talent, I want it to be because of my talent, not because of sob story, but I am asking for help-
If AGT doesn't work for me this year, does anyone out there know of any competitions that I could go to as a non-member of a high school dance/drill team? I would greatly appreciate any help that I could get from anyone out there... Good luck on America's got talent to everyone who auditioned, and I hope to see you on the set of AGT!!!

Hi Sweetie,
My daughter is a dancer, and she participates at many dance competitions with her dance studio team (not a high school team). I was talking to one of the other moms, and she said that she often brings her daughter to competitions as a solo and she is able to participate. You should get the magazine "Dance Spirit" which advertises most of the competitions (there are tons of them). I don't know how many offer college scholarships, but you know that you can audition for colleges that offer dance programs and they might give you a scholarship right from the school. Check out Dean College...I know of a couple of girls who have gotten scholarships there.
Good luck to you!!

I considered auditioning for that, but the problem is that I am too young. sad01.gif I will have to wait for a few years before I can audition for So You Think You Can Dance.
