I saw that AGT is taping in NY on April 9, 10 and 11. I was wondering if it was only for the people who will make the first cut at the NY audition or if it's the first callback for all the cities. Has anybody received an invite for the NY taping that auditioned in other cities?

The New York audition is not any different than any of the other audition cities, EXCEPT that it has a taping opportunity with the celebrity judges. Hope this helps clarify things for you. If you are auditioning - good luck to you!

Hey Stringofpearls? where did you hear those are the taping days? just curious i hope not i have a show those 3 days, and if it is taping days will it be in the morning or evening??? any one know??? HELP!!

Maybe I need to calrify just a bit. New York auditions are April 5 thru 7. They are taping auditions in New York April 9 thru 11. That info is on the home page of AGT, along with taping times. It appears what has happened is that if you audition, you may be invited to advance to the next round of taping.

My guess is that many of the tapings are being used to collect filler material for the actual show. The first few weeks of the season are taped sessions, not live broadcasts. So the tapings that have occurred in some of the audition cities are being used for the first few broadcasts.

I continue to believe that calls for Las Vegas advancement will begin in earnest after the New York auditions have finished. But these are only suppositions on my part, dont take them for gospel. I hope this helps and that I haven't confused you more. But at the very least, good luck in New York. Just don't value your talent based on whether you proceed through to a taping or if you get a phone call to advance to Las Vegas. Best wishes and go for it!
