Full Version: Most Romantic Scene Ever On Days
NBC > Daytime > Days of our Lives > Love in the Afternoon > Steve & Kayla
DHS_1
I found this clip and had completely forgotten about this happening. From the time Kayla was deaf. It's possibly the most romantic thing I've seen on a soap. It's not fancy, elaborate, it's not cheesey and corny. It's from the heart and shows just how much love there was there. This is why, next to Marlena and Wayne Northrop's Roman, Steve and Kayla are my favorite couple.

AW,that was sweet, but I've seen more romantic moments.

Steve and Kayla dancing on the rooftop to "Lady in Red" when she was deaf comes to mind.
Jack's proposal to Jennifer (the first one) was also very romantic.

Aw that was sweet! That is such a beautiful song. I don't remember Kayla being deaf. I know that I saw some epi's when she couldn't talk. She wasn't deaf as a kid right? How did she lose her hearing?

Thanks for sharing!

I was pretty young when this happened, so I'm a little fuzzy on details and I can't find any clips of it, but I believe Kayla became deaf when she was involved in an explosion. I think she was attacked by the Riverfront Knifer and when she tried to get away part of a building exploded.

That was a good storyline and it provided a lot of romantic moments for S&K.

I remember that. S&K have so many romantic moments. I couldn't just pick out one. I love them.

One of my favorite scenes with S&K is when, I think she got stabbed or something, and they were at the clinic and Steve was trying to treat her wound. She wasn't going to let him at first but then she did. I don't remember what happened but maybe somebody else does. I can't find it on youtube.

I know this is for any couple, but I love S&K. smile.gif

Here is the clip of the dance on the rooftop:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrTwpHnG8Pc

Some quick background, Kayla had just been attacked and in the hospital. After the attack, she was deaf and could not talk. There was soo much angst around this time. IMO, the falshback during the dance is kind of cheesy, it was from a fantasy Steve had in a previous storyline but they seemed to always want to do it again. The beauty of the clip is in the end. You can see how Kayla finally feels this peace and safety - and Steve is so great when he keeps dancing after the music stops.

If you watch that scene, it is really good to watch this other scene also. It is right after Kayla gets her hearing back and the night before the wedding. They dance to the same song and things come full circle. The first dance was tender and sweet, this second dance is sexy and so full of joy. I loved it so much I am the one who put it up on youtube tongue.gif And the clip quality is much more clear than the first.

Thanks for posting the clips Ives. It would have probably taken me forever to find them!

Yes, thank you. I would never have thought to search for "Early Steve and Kayla." I loved that scene. For some reason, I remembered it being longer. But I liked the eye contact with them in those scenes. And I forgot Max was there. Sweet little Max. lol

Another kind S&K fan made up a playlist of 1986 and 1987 S&K youtube clips (in order).

Of course, this site has nearly all of their scenes in order, with pretty good clip quality. smile.gif

Steve and Kayla

I love how Steve gets really choked up when he gets to the lucky and the strong verse. It harkens back to this scene when very very early on when Kayla was trying to break down his walls, she gave him this cookbook with those words written it.

You know, they did a lot of flashbacks to that scene so it may be why it stuck in your mind even though it was pretty short. smile.gif

There are so many romantic scenes, but the first one to come to mind was the dance on the roof to "Lady in Red". I could feel the love they both had for each other. wub.gif So sweet. Steve "dipping" Kayla at the end was a nice touch. smile.gif

The most romantic scene that I saw is when Steve signs the Rose for Kayla.

When it comes to S&K, it's so hard to choose! I think the most romantic scene from their early run was Steve climbing through the window and carrying Kayla out of the Deveraux mansion.

This run? I thought the whole conversation at the pub when they agreed to have another baby together last winter was very romantic. You could tell that even though Steve really wanted it, he had his doubts, but he was willing to put them aside for Kayla and jump in. That's wildly romantic, although in a different way than the high flown romance of the eighties. I thought it was just a lovely episode.
ldav
wow I would seriously have to think long and hard about this one because S&K have so many romantic scenes I don't know if I could pick just one....I love them all!
lska
I wonder, what's everyone's most romantic scene of the current run?

I love the episode I talked about above... but thinking about it, the day that Steve followed Kayla back from Cincinnati was awfully romantic too. Something about the way she'd practically given up on having him in her life, only for him show up at her door while she was in her pajamas...
Silversprings
Picking just one scene is pretty hard because they have had so many. For the first run ,I would have to say the first wedding on the yacht and the honeymoon that followed. For the current run, I would say the scene where Steve finally remembers Kayla.

I think my favorite romantic scene has to be when he remembers her. When they are in the hotel and she is just SO afraid to trust him, she can't make herself that vunerable again. Steve is working hard trying to convince her and then suddenly he signs courage. It was one of the best written scenes encorporating who they were and who they are now. I tear up still when I watch that scene. I love it.
tkkc83
There are so many but I just thought of the one where Steve makes Kayla take time off from being at Bo's bedside........when they get to the hotel he has everything all sat up and he throws yellow rose petals everywhere....including on her.
mkodet
One of my favorite romantic moments from this run is Steve's "this is heaven" speech. It was so beautiful, and so Steve.

And then of course, they proceeded to send my heart through the wringer with the next scenes.
bfred
For me one of the most romatic scenes is when they are in the pub and Steve says let go home and get naked. Kayla was just glowing and so in love. I love that scene.
Paylafan
I think when he remembered her. The part where he finishes her sentence about the lilac soap she was wearing all those years ago. Loved it.

There are a couple that are my favorite. When Steve actually remembers Kayla and they are sitting in the apartment looking through their wedding album and he tells her he wants to carry her over the thresh hold and of course when he said he wanted to make love to her right there right now. That was HOT!!!! And the other one is of course when they are trying to get pregnant and they do it in the car. I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I have to agree, when they were sitting on the couch looking at their wedding album. They both looked so happy and so glad to be just sitting there talking to each other! It felt like that Steve and Kayla were finally home!

I also think any scene past or present that shows that they just can't stay away from each is so romantic, even without touching each other, it conveys so much.

I think the most romantic for me was when Kayla got stabbed and he was tending to her wound. Wildly romantic. Through the whole time it was awkward for the 2 of them with Roman & Abe and Max there. Then when she went home she had a romantic dream about him. There are so many romantic times for them. I just can`t pick just one. Another one that comes to mind was in the hot springs. I guess we can say romantic or totally HOT, HOT, HOT.

That was a really sweet scene. It's still amazing how quickly Steve was comfortably back in his skin, once he got his memories back.

I loved the looks on their faces when Hope showed up at the door and surprised them, too. biggrin.gif

I'm not sure my definition of romantic is the same as other peoples. I love in the memory return scene when she starts to faint and he wants to get Lexie and she stops him saying she doesn't need anybody and he says he's not anybody.

He's seen her weak, and that's hard for Kayla and he is unfaltering in his desire to take care of her.

It's not roses and kisses, but that to me is romance.

No argument from me -- that's a great choice.
