Full Version: Do print and TV food ads get to you?
NBC > Reality > The Biggest Loser > Diet and Nutrition

Print and media ads have absolutely no effect on me whatsoever. Unless I can smell something in the here and now, there's just no effect. Even though I frequently recall the tastes and aromas of things I've eaten in the past, for some reason these ads do not trigger these memories. On the other hand, I have friends who will actually start salivating at just the pictures...

How about you?

Not usually, if it does I always tell myself I can have it on my free day. By then I usually forget about it.

Not really. Unless I happen to walk by an ad and I'm hungry as heck. Even in that case I'm not going to buy the food because I usually bring my own. Otherwise, I don't even notice it. I rarely watch commercials on tv, so they usually have no effect on me.

Not at all. I need to be able to smell food for it to have an affect on me. Example I can look at a danish or donut through the glass all day long, but if I can smell them fresh out of the oven, it is a killer!

Nah, not like they used to. When I was losing weight, I would see something and think, "Normally I'd be lunging for that right about now". These days, I don't even consider the past to be normal, so it doesn't affect me anymore.

Once in a while, I'll see something tasty on the Food Network if it's on. Then I think about how much time working out it would take to get rid of that, realize I don't have the time, and move on.

Glad to see that you guys aren't affected smile.gif

For any one that is, check out these comparisons of food packaging and photos of the actual foods themselves

Ritter Sport chocolates are delicious. I love the Praline flavoured. smile.gif
The first one from the list looks like brains.
Its an interesting link because Germans are also gaining a lot of weight on average. I believe that the UK and Germany have the highest numbers of obesity and overweight people in Europe.

No joke. You'd have to be really drunk to justify that fugly food. Far too much meat in creamy things. Thanks for the link; much humor has ensued!
