ILOVEJOURNEYMAN
I am so very disappointed Journeyman was canceled. Journeyman was one of the few shows that I actually looked forward to the next week’s episode, counting the days until it aired. I would wake up in the morning, excited that the show would be on in the evening. Afterward, the show would leave me deep in thought for hours and looking forward to discussing the episode with my friends at work.

Journeyman is an intelligent show that is full of twists and turns, never predictable. This show could take you places that you would never expect – it could go anywhere the writers wished to take it – filled with so many opportunities, so full of potential.

There are so many “junk” shows on television today, so many “reality” shows. Journeyman is a show that, for one hour, will take me away from the stress of my day… leading me on an adventure that only a show that keeps you on the edge of your seat can bring.

The best part about Journeyman is that my husband and 15-year old son also enjoy the program as much as I do. It is one of the few shows that will bring us all together to watch. We would make some popcorn and gather together in the living room as a family to enjoy the story… looking forward to some answers to the drama along with the newest journey, wondering where the newest developments would take us…what is the next journey about.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine this would be a show that you would cancel… I simply thought we had to wait until the strike was over to find out where the writers would take us next! How could you cancel a program that had so much potential for adventure? How could you take away a show that had so much to build on, so much wide open space available to explore? I remain in disbelief that you would take away one of the most intellectual, thought provoking, challenging shows that we’ve seen in quite awhile.

I know I am not the only one that is this disappointed. I am sure there are thousands of other fans out there that are just as saddened by this cancellation as I am. I have never fought for a show before as I have never felt this strongly about a program before. I believe Journeyman, with it’s timeline of possibilities and its strength of characters, has the potential to be one of the greatest long-running shows ever. I hope other fans will also join in and fight to support Journeyman.

Please, NBC, please bring Journeyman back.

I totally agree. It seems like everytime I like a show on this network they take it off. I loved the West Wing, and I would say it's time might have past, but I also love Studio 60 & Journeyman. Neither of which made it to season 2. Lost to some 90210 remake or 70's rehash. Give us something stimulating!

I am so tired of these mindless game shows and stupid reality tv shows as well. What's wrong with having some mind stimulating television.

Journeyman was the only show on NBC I've watched except for the news.

NBC used to produce cutting edge dramatic series and biting social satire, but it's gotten lobotomized by a new generation of candy-ass broadcast executives hell-bent on doing nothing that might challenge their audience.

NBC cancels quality shows and replaces them with reality shows the likes of which you've already seen 500 times. We're all being lobotomized by the country's most influential industry which has thrown in the towel on any endeavor that does not include the courting of 12-year-old boys. And not event the smart 12-year-olds, the stupid ones, the idiots, of which there are plenty thanks in no small part to this network. So change the channel, turn off the TV.

There's has always been a struggle between art and commerce, but now I'm telling you art is getting its ass kicked.

People are having contests to see how much they can be like Donald Trump. We're eating worms for money. People are riding bicycles off of roofs for free - just to get their pictures on TV.

That remote in your hand is a crack pipe...oh yeah every once in a while a network pretends to be appalled to quiet its critics. But they are pornographers...and not even good ones -- it's not even good pornography. They're just this side of snuff films, and friends, that's what's next 'cause that's all that's left.

It is time to turn it all off.

Thanks Wes. You were right then -- and even more so now.

I agree with all of you. I am disappointed that this show was canceled. I loved it. There were times that I couldn't watch it in the evening, and that was when I found out I could watch it online. It was great.
Each story line was made you think. It wasn't a show that I could sit in front of the tv and do ten other things and still get what was going on. You paid attention and got an hour of thought provoking entertainment.
Bring it back.

I really do not know how the networks are determing which shows should be cancelled. What angers me is that the networks never take in to account what shows I watch. Okay, I am not trying to imply that only what I watch matters but my point is, they are not including every viewer in their decisions. The networks have not yet, with all of the technology available to them today, opened up the opportunity to do a more accurate count of how many people really watch their shows. And today, people watch shows off of tapes, On Demand, Ti-Vos and the Internet etc. NBC is making a big mistake cancelling Journeyman!

NBC get REAL Journeyman could fill six series and grow Complex storylines and character development takes time to appeal to the masses.

I just spent the whole day watching this show... the worst part, I've never even heard of it!!?!?! how is it that advertising supports shows like road rules (stupid), or fear factor (boring) but not great, riveting shows like this? However, I come to the website to show my support, and I see that there's only 19 people that have voted to support the show. Shocking.

NBC should bring the show back AND advertise. I absolutely love other shows, but I didnt' start watching those till later due to, you guessed it, advertising. Shoot, the internet is popular now, eer heard of a thing called popups?

Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back. You can't leave the series hanging the way you did.

also, who do I have to nag to make it happen? Squeeky wheel gets the grease.

I am glad to see new folks here. Some of us have been here some months--and altho momentarily crushed by NBC's non-decision on Journeyman (They show no respect for the fans), we have rallied. Obviously we want the show back--even on a delayed basis because Kevin Falls, JM's creator, is working elsewhere now. AND we want a DVD of season #1 ASAP.

mad.gif Whats wrong with NBC is there a reason you are taking away the only good shows? I hate that every time I get into a show you cancel it I am starting to think that you need to be boycotted till you cancel the crap shows (like all the reality tv (except extreme home makeover)and crap game shows)and bring back the good ones.

I swear it's starting to feel like the show was never put on air for some people. So many people I've talked to NEVER caught a single episode due to time slot. What kills me? They all say how interesting the concept sounds and are annoyed they missed out on the first season sad.gif

As cheesy as it sounds JM will always have a place in my heart.

Geez and other day I noticed now Smallville is ripping off JM's use of the word "traveler" that kind of p's me off.

Furthermore do I even have to get into Eli Stone?

I've loved Journeyman since its inception and I feel like I've once again lost something great because of this network. How many times will they disappoint their viewers? When will they see that shows like Journeyman are where they will find long-term success and popularity? They should have stuck with it and watched it expand, watched it garner money, esteem, fans, awards... NBC has lost its mind to reality crap and and shoddy advertising. They need to get off their leather backed chairs and get to work bringing it back.

This was a bright light among few good shows this year. Both my husband and I looked forward to this each week, and I have spread the word to others to catch up with it next season.
I wish that NBC would give it a chance... a place in the Fall or summer lineup and keep it consistant so people could follow it.
Remember, even Bonanza was not a hit from the beginning... please bring this show back.
Amy_CT
BTW, I just checked IMDB and over 2000 people voted, giving Journeyman 8.5 out of 10! One of the highest rated shows. What do these networks base their decisions on?
oddmanout
You should know that I am trying to make you mad.

First, the networks are not in the business of making shows you like. They are in the business of making shows that will MAKE THEM MONEY. The more profit in the show, the more they can please those that really count to them. You DO NOT COUNT to them. The only people who's opinion count are the SHAREHOLDERS. Not the neilson rating... not the advertisers... and certainly not you.

Unfortunately the all time record holder for a tv show is a reality show (point of fact, Survivor). The second all time record holder is... you guessed it... American Idol. This has nothing to do with veiwing attendance, it has everything to do with profit to output margin.

There are people in EVERY demographic that watch the stupid, mindless, worthless (ad your adjective here) supposed reality shows that have nothing to do with real life, and have no redeaming value to them. Even people adding to this topic have admitted to this. This shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

Why do I make note of this? Simple, why would any network produce a show that has a budget that includes writers, actors, producers, sets, location shots, and any number of other profit sponges that will take away from the bottom line, when they can run a stupid, mindless, worthless (ad your adjective here) supposed reality show that only involves a "host", a couple of producers and maybe (and thats a big maybe nowadays) a set. Even if the payout of this show is in the millions, they can laugh all the way to the bank cause that would barely cover the weekly payroll of an ensamble cast.

Get pissed people. AND STOP WATCHING REALITY SHOWS. If you liked Survivor and you love American Idol you are part of the problem and you can bet your sweet bippy thats all you are ever gonna see in the next decade.

I love this show! I miss it, and I'm holding out hope that it will be back. I love Kevin McKidd. There's just something about him and the way he interacts with the other characters on the show that I find amazing!

Actually, there's not an actor on the show that doesn't fit their character perfectly. PLEASE bring it back. I never missed one episode!
