My mom needs to lose alot of pounds. She has diabetes, is 5'3" 270lbs, very bad knees (it's very hard for her to keep standing or walk) and has neuropathy in both of her hands. I was wondering if anyone knows of any vidioes, that I can purchase for her, to start her off in maybe doing exercises from a sitting position?

You could do a "search" on Google or other search engine for exercise videos for the disabled, exercise for wheelchair bound, etc.

I did a search and found this: Move Those Joints Video and Gentle Fitness Video.

Hope this helps.

You might want to check http://www.silversneakers.com/

The program is specifically designed for older individuals and is covered under certain Medicare plans.

Based on what you wrote, do not let your mom proceed without a check up from her doctor first.

There's an exercise video series called Sit and Be Fit. There's a show on PBS and they sell videos of the show. The videos are aimed at the elderly and disabled, people who can't stand for long periods to exercise. Here's the website: http://www.sitandbefit.org/ I believe you can buy the videos at Amazon, but Collagevideo.com carries them for sure. Collage also has video clips.
