Hello all. I wanted to extend an invitation to everyone to come by an join us at the Million Pound Matchup Reunion page. First let me say that these sites are in no way sponsored or affilated with NBC, Biggest loser, MSN, MR. Youth or any of its affiliates. We are mearly a group of individuals that participated in the MSN Million Pound Matchup. We decided to arrange a place for MPM participants to come for support, friendship and fun. We are also planning a reunion trip for April 2009. Right now it looks like we are headed on a 7 day Caribbean cruise. We have two sites you can come by and visit us at. www.myspace.com/millionpoundmtchupreunion and at
http://ourblmpmreunionpage.spaces.live.comWe welcome everyone even if you did not participate in the MPM, including but not limited to fans of the biggest loser and anyone interested in health, wellness or fitness.

Well its me again:) but I woke up this morning and just had a thought that I wanted to share. For those people that are trying to decide if they are going to join us on the cruise and just aren't quite sure...Imagine waking up in the morning smelling the freshness of the ocean for a week, away from that ringing phone, away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life, just sitting by the pool basking in the rays of the beautiful hot sun, sipping your drink of choice. Having fun all day long, then going dancing or whatever your choice may be each night. Spending time with new friends all with the same goal in mind, to get healthy, live life to the fullest, and have fun. Who can pass up this vacation of a lifetime? We have never been on a cruise, but it sounds just terrific and even our 10 year old daughter is saving her change! Hope you all have a wonderful day:)

Yep! it's looking like it's going to fantastic! We've been in talks with some very popular BL contestants as well to come aboard with us. Also, it's a great time of year to sail! the weather will be warming up, so it won't be too cool(yes, folks, even in the caribbean it gets cool) and it will be before summer, so it won't be too hot as well...PLUS, we'll be sailing long before hurricane season starts. So, there are a lot of good points as to why sailing this cruise is great

Hi everyone! I wanted to share an email with you all I received today from Florida's Family Health Services:
Thank you for your recent correspondence to the Executive Office of the Governor. Your information has been forwarded to the Florida Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion for response. Dr. Viamonte Ros, State Surgeon General and Governor Crist applaud the creation of your Million Pound Match-Up Reunion program.
Over the past five years, the DOH has worked under a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to carry out an Obesity Prevention Program in the state of Florida. This program promotes evidenced-based interventions and has been challenged to promote lifelong physical activity, healthy nutrition, breastfeeding, and a reduction in screen time for both adults and youth through the implementation of local policy and environmental changes.
Governor Crist is committed to having a healthy and fit Florida. The Governor's Council on Physical Fitness was established in 2007 to develop a state plan of action to reduce the rate of obesity and resulting chronic diseases within the next ten years. The emphasis of the plan is to increase physical fitness through regular exercise and sound nutrition practices among Floridians of all ages. I encourage you to look at the recommendations provided by the Governor's Council and the state plan of action at:
http://www.healthyfloridians.com/documents...lanofAction.pdf. Although the Florida Department of Health can not support or endorse one specific product or intervention, we will be happy to share information about your program with the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and other partners within the Departments of Health and Education.
We appreciate your concern and commitment to healthier future. Governor Crist’s goal is for Florida to be a national leader in health and physical fitness. If you have any further questions please visit the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion website at: www.doh.state.fl.us/family/chronicdisease.
Thank you.

I've written all of our government officials a few days ago for support in this effort and started receiving responses today. I thought I would share them with you all.

I was just reading your information regarding this cruise thing. It looks fun. Just curious what good cause are you supporting? Is this an official thing being offered from NBC? I noticed that you had a biggest loser logo on your page just not sure whom this really is putting this on. You know you never really know who people are or if this is a legit business. I am concerned because I read some negative stuff about this event and its sponsors on an Ohio message board. I really do not want to spend all of this money if this is not legit. Also I heard that the couple Marty and Amy were having their own cruise. So many choices it seems.

Loosingitnow,
Thank you so much for your response regarding the MPM Reunion. While I can understand your concerns, please be aware that not everything people say is accurate. I am personally involved in this event and can assure you that everyone working on the committee is genuinely kind and caring and truly do hope to help people reach for their weight loss goals. Everyone is hard at work organizing MPM Reunion, and I assure you that we are all dedicated to supporting an event that promotes people supporting one another in a positive manner.
We are not affiliated with NBC, however, we do have at this time 10 Biggest Loser contestants signed up to sail with us, and we have more we are waiting to announce. This event is 100% legitimate, but we are not a business. I urge you to come visit our site at myspace.com/mpmreunion and get to know our committee members to make your own informed decision regarding the issues you have expressed. I know each and every person involved in this event and can personally say that all of them are incredible people who are kind, generous, and most of all, concerned with getting the word out about the growing epidemic that is "obesity"
So come and check us out and if you have any questions, by all means feel free to send me a PM or send a message to the group. Heck, feel free to join! Hope to get to talk to you soon!

That was my thought also. I can not find it anywhere though on the NBC site. They did let me know that they are not sponsors. About the negative stuff. It was about some of the planners of the event. It looks like there were several people ridiculed by these planners. I found some stuff about someone named Gayle that was in the Matchup. Then there was stuff listed about a biggest loser named Jenny that was banned from going on this thing. And then even some stuff about some people that were planning this event and then they left becasue of nonsense. This scares me to not want to spend all of my money and then this thing not be legit. I have tried to email back the person that posted on the Ohio message board and have not received back anything. Also I have tried to find this past biggest loser to ask them about it. Dude sorry if this upsets anyone here. Just really trying to make an informed decision about my money. I did find this thing listed as a business on a craigs list. Anyone else out here have any suggestions?

Hey Guys,
There appears to be some confusion about the Million Pound Matchup Reunion; so let me attempt to further explain. The Million Pound Matchup Reunion (MPMU) Firstly, is a not-for-profit organization. It is 100% legitimate, and I cannot stress this enough, Is NOT a business. The MPMU as a whole was setup by two current members of the NBC/MSN Million Pound Matchup who lost a total of over 150 lbs.
As we all know, last year in its inaugural season, in addition to helping millions of Americans achieve their weight loss goals, The Million Pound Matchup helped an entire country lose over 1.3 MILLION POUNDS! The Million Pound Matchup Reunion Cruise is a celebration of that success. In addition to celebrating that success, the MPMU wants to bring to the forefront the epidemic that is childhood and adult obesity, obesity related diseases such as diabetes and congestive heart failure. As a country, we have to learn to take better care of ourselves in regards to the way we eat, the way we exercise, and the way we live each and everyday.
Personally, I've dealt with being an overweight child and now an overweight adult. It's something that I deal with on a daily basis and am working hard to combat. The Biggest Loser Show as well as the Biggest Loser Club has been instrumental to me in helping me get motivated and to get one pound closer to my ideal weight.
In regards to some of the issues you raised, honestly, I am a new addition to the MPMU committee; However I have been briefed and brought up to speed with the issues that you raised. In regards to Jenny, that specific misunderstanding has been resolved.
In regards to your money, of course you should make an informed decision if you are contemplating going on this reunion cruise. Of course you should do your homework and check out the group and the Reunion thoroughly. Personally, I extend you an invitation and hope to meet and see you in April on the Carnival Cruise! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!
Best Wishes,
Lionel Forbes

Hi! I don't know if you are aware of it or not, but there are many fan groups across the web that use The Biggest Loser Logo, however, they are not trying to profit in any way other than to help support people lose weight. It was the same for our group, even though it had been personalized, however, we changed our logo several weeks ago to a personalized one. We also have disclaimers on each profile we have stating up front that we are not affiliated with The Biggest Loser, MSN or anyone. The MPM Reunion is simply a group trying to help people lose weight. Unfortunately along the way there have been some issues to arise that are business and will not be discussed in this forum. I am really surprised at the amount of personal information you have, though, because much of what you have said is only known by those directly involved, even if it is not accurate. Also, much of the drama you speak of was not created by the current members of the committee. Just out of curiousity, where did you get that personal information since only certain people had access to it?
Admittedly I did write a blog about being upset with something in regards to the MPM Contest and why I was. I write when I am upset to process my frustration. I'm also an idealist. In retrospect, it wasn't the wisest thing to do, and I have apologized to the person about whom the blog was written. Jenni is not banned from the cruise. I will say that in regards to business. I am the leader of this group, and I am the one that if people have questions or concerns should ask in regards in regards to gossip. The committee is working hard to support a great event. We are 100% legitimate in our concern and effort to encourage people towards losing weight through a healthy nutrition plan and routine exercise. This event is more than a cruise in the end as well. The time leading up to it is just as important because during this time, when people are working towards their goals, the support system is in place to help people with questions, struggles, triumphs, etc. These are very important aspects to a person's success in weight loss, and the community we have is dedicated to helping people achieve all of their goals and dreams in regards to weight loss and fitness.
I encourage you to stop and consider as well that there are always 2 sides to every coin in regards to your concerns. Things are not always what they seem in regards to gossip and drama, in fact, they usually aren't. Everyone knows that. I do not make a habit out of attacking people at all. I expressed in ONE blog that I was upset with the outcome of the contest and why, ONE, and as a result a lot of drama has ensued and a lot of things have been misconstrued. I am not involved in this event for personal reasons. I have a sincere concern for people of size who don't want to be people of size. I have lost 224 pounds to date. I started out at 536 pounds, so you can see that I have quite bit left to lose, but I too am working faithfully on my own goals. Because I have lost quite a bit, mainly this year from following the Biggest Loser Nutrition Plan since January of this year (I have lost 111 pounds from following this plan when I could not lose it ANY other way, and I have tried a lot of drastic things to lose it), I feel like I can comfortably direct and encourage people. I have applied myself to reaching my goals, and I have had a lot of positive results because of that dedication. I BELIEVE in that nutrition plan as well as exercising, and I believe that if a person applies themselves, they can too. If they don't, they won't. It's that simple for me. It may not be that simple for others, but for me, it is. Weight loss does not come easy, but it will come if you stick with a well balanced and nutritionally sound program.
Also, as far as this cruise is concerned, we are doing this on our own, and we have now have 11 Biggest Loser contestants on board with more to announce. Who? Ryan Kelly, Andrea Overstreet, Rasha Spindel-Chapman and Edwin Chapman, Amber Walker, Lezlye Donahue, Isabeau Miller, Kai Hibbard, Jenn Widder, and Jay and Mark Kruger. But also, stay tuned for more updates in regards to additional Biggest Loser contestants.

All monies necessary to participate in this event are to be paid directly to Carnival Cruise Lines or if a person wishes to stay in a hotel prior to sail date or afterwards, they must pay the hotel for fees incurred with that business as well as foods/entertainment prior to sail date. if we do have a luau on April 17th, all monies will be paid directly to that business as well. I hope that clears up any concerns in regards to funds anyone may have.

Thank you prima for the information about the cruise. I appreciate such a quick response. Though this does sound legit, I am greatly concerned about the individuals planning this event. You admitted above that you write when you are upset. That truthfully is no excuse for the things that I have found posted on a message board about this girl named Gayle and Jenny. They still have not responded to my emails about such. However I too participated in the matchup and if someone attacked me like that, oh my. The more I read the more scared I am about paying so much money to participate. I phoned your company Carnival and they would not give me much information. They said they were only there to book the cruise ad that I had to contact someone named Carla or Christi. Not sure who that is.

Well please let me make it very clear that I have never once posted anything negative in regards to Jenni. We are moving forward and trying to provide a positive experience for people. It's difficult to do that when people continuously resort to past issues that have been resolved between those involved. Because of that, I very humbly say that I will not continue to discuss those matters. We are trying to help people lose weight. Christi is not involved in this and has never been on the contact list of our committee for Carnival, so I don't know why they would tell you to contact her. She's never been a contact person with carnival at all. I'm sorry you seem to be getting so much misinformation, but if you choose to believe that information, it's a personal choice. In the end, we as humans all make mistakes; no one is perfect. We all do, and so with that, we can only in turn do the best to rectify the wrongs and go on. And truly, what happened, it's over and done with. Everyone involved has moved on. Because of that, I don't feel I need to continuously talk about it. So, I won't any further.
Now with that said, you can either choose to get to know me and the committee members and come to your own conclusions in regards to how we as people and event planners are, or you can choose to follow gossip. As far as the problems are concerned, they are resolved. We've all moved on. I will not discuss them any further as it serves no purpose other than to continue stirring up controversy that simply does not exist any longer. We welcome you to research us, to contact us on a personal level and get to know us, but if you are unwilling to do so, then you can never alleviate your concerns regarding any committee member. All you can do is base your assumptions on false rumors. However, as I said before, you seem to be privvy to some very private information, which is concerning. Only committee members or past committee members knew/know some of that information. Please allow me to express too that this is a new project and learning experience for all involved. As time progresses we will have learned valuable lessons along the way and best how to handle them, but given that we are so new to it all, we have to start somewhere. Just as a child processes new things and learns from mistakes so do adults when learning something new in their lives. Because of this project, I have encountered many amazing people from all walks of life. However you can't possibly please everyone every single time. There will be people who are upset along the way because they didn't get what they wanted or their feelings were hurt for some unknown reason, but we are doing the best we can to be fair to everyone, but you just cannot please everyone all of the time. And so what happens then? People complain about you and say things that are not so. I can't control that, and I will not continue to worry about it. Those who know me or who take the time to know me, know how I am. That's all I can and will say. I have had to defend myself again and again and again. I'm not going to anymore. People are going to believe what it is they want to believe. I can't change that. If you are scared to participate in something that even the Biggest Loser contestants are involving themselves in, I really don't know what more I can say.
At this point in time, if people have concerns, I strongly encourage anyone to please contact us and get to know us. We are here to help motivate people on their weight loss journeys. I have found that having a support system throughout this journey really does help people in many, many ways

In the end, this event is about helping people reaching a common goal, good nutrition, fitness and routine exercise. If you would like to join in for one of the best vacations of the year, we welcome you with open arms. If you feel that you would be investing in something that is concerning to you, we are sorry to hear that. I also urge you to consider this, would Biggest Loser contestants willingly be involved with a person/people who are as you say you believe I am? As I said, we have 11 of the past contestants currently signed up to sail with us, and we will definitely be announcing more as soon as we can announce their involvement. They would never affiliate themselves with something or someone whom they knew or thought to be malicious.
Thank you for your concerns. Please let me reiterate that any issues that were happening have been resolved, and all parties involved have moved on. Because of that, I will not continue to address this. It's best to leave all of that in the past and go forward. We are very much looking forward to helping people and celebrating their victories. We are excited for the new season to begin and see a new group of people working towards and reaching their dreams and goals as well!
Thank you,

Well if extra funds happen to come your way and you would like to join us, know that we are happy to have you aboard...even if you cannot come on the cruise, as I said, this event is more than simply about the cruise. it's also about helping people in the time leading up to that adventure through positive support in the weight loss/fitness areas of their lives. We are trying to encourage people who want and need to lose weight to do so. it's not easy doing it alone, but I found through the MPM contest that the support system helped me tremendously in conquering my own block with trying to get beyond 400 pounds and finally into the 300s. After the contest ended, many people decided to stay on because it worked so well for them. I have tried MANY ways to get the weight off, and I have found that having the support system and following the Biggest Loser Nutrition Plan has really worked very well for me personally. It is a healthy, well-balanced nutrition plan where I have never once felt deprived or cheated in any way. Given that all other avenues of trying to get the weight off have been very challenging for me, I firmly believe in this plan along with routine exercise as being the healthiest way to get off the excess weight. But also, this is more than simply about weight loss. It's also about friendship and having friends who are going through the exact same thing you are, as well as being for those who don't necessarily have excess weight to lose but who also choose to lead healthy lifestyles. So, I encourage you to please stop by and check use out for at the very least that, or if you feel more comfortable with another group, them. Either way, a great support system really does help
Have a good one!

This is GREAT news! We are extremely excited to be a part of the MPM Reunion cruise. We are very happy to meet other MPMU contestants and past Biggest Loser contestants. The MPMU changed our lives for the better. We have struggled our entire lives with weight, one diet after another after another but now we have trully changed our lifestyle. And what better way to celebrate our accomplishments than to go on a cruise with new friends with the same goals! We welcome anyone and everyone to join us in the venture, so come on,join us,book your cruise: LETS CELEBRATE, we all deserve it.
Have a great day

Stay Puff be glad that you do not have the funds to go on this thing. I just read some more stuff today about how many people have came and went from the planning peoples of this event. From what I read there have been something like 7 people come and go. That really speaks volumes. Dude also I have read that this person prima is the one that was talking smack about winners of the matchup and then about other biggest losers. I just can not imagine that biggest loser contestants would consider even associating themselves with an event such as this. How can a person make up an event to celebrate this matchup thing and send out bulletins and emails like she did tearing people down. I read today also again how she tore down someone that won the matchup. Then this biggest loser past contestant and then some people that were kicked off when it looks like this cruise planning team was disbanned. Oh my this thing really sounds like a mess. Best to you all that are doing this thing. I wish not to involve myself or my family with such individuals.

This is why gossip is never a good thing, the information you have is either untrue or misconstrued. However I can say that things are going well, and we have now confirmed Season 3 winner Erik Chopin to be sailing with us today! It's going to be an incredibly exciting event, no doubt, and I am so excited to meet everyone who will be attending! I wish you all the best in your own weight loss journeys as well! We as a committee and I personally am committed to supporting each and everyone of you on your journeys and making great new friends! Please take a moment to check us out and add us to your friends list if you like!
Take care,

Please refrain from starting rumors/gossip unless you have documented proof to back your claim. I understand that you (loosingitnow) have your own cruise set up along the same premise as the MPMU Reunion; I also realize that you are a former committee member of the MPMU Reunion and you have a personal problem with some of the current admins from said reunion. That said, personal problems/business is just that, PERSONAL. Again, I reiterate, please refrain from making claims about the MPMU Reunion UNLESS you have verified, documented proof that states otherwise. I wish your "boot camp challenge" cruise the very best; as the bottom line reason behind both of the cruises is WEIGHT LOSS...not our ego, not being noticed, and not fame.
Before you attempt to come back at me, I've already did my homework on you. You have 6 posts in this NBC forum, all but one have been in regards to this topic. You have claimed to be both from Ohio and California, but the IP address associated with this moniker is from Indianapolis, Indiana; ironically enough, that very same IP address is linked to whichever computer you use ...that said, it's associated with the (loosingitnow2008) account for this forum. your personal myspace page and your bootcamp challenge page all from Indianapolis, Indiana...so it's not a coincidence unless you run a cyber cafe on the side.
In closing, just stop. Nobody is making money from this. It makes us all look unprofessional when we start this whole "you're not real...no, YOU'RE not real" garbage. It makes the cause you stand for look unprofessional and it makes you look like a moron. This is SUPPOSED to be a celebration of losing weight getting healthy. Nothing PERSONAL. If there is personal issues between two people, may I suggest either calling one another, texting each other, sending a private message or by way of a carrier pigeon; I personally don't care, but this forum is NOT the place for it, which is why I have asked for this topic to be removed.
Thank you.

I am leaving this topic here for now, but it will remain closed. As GatorNation98 has said, personal issues are exactly that - personal, and are not to be discussed on the forum.
