A WEALTHY FAMILY OF COFFEE TRADERS COMES UNDER SUSPICION WHEN A PREGNANT WOMAN IS FOUND RAPED AND DEAD IN HER BURNT LOFT APARTMENT. Detectives Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) are called to the scene and question the victim’s affluent fiancé, PJ Bartlett (guest star Matthew Davis). Interrogating Barlett and his family proves to be a challenge, as Attorney Trevor Langan (guest star Peter Hermann) represents the family and is trying to cover their mistakes all over the country. But when an affair between Ludlow and her fiancé's father, Peter Bartlett (guest star Stephen Collins) is revealed, the detectives unveil a web of family secrets including conspiracies, sex, and blackmail. I really enjoyed the episode tonight also. However, i thought the ending showed poor police work. The ADA's decision to let the lawyer(suspected killer) to get past the conference was not smart. She never should have gotten to that roof, unless she fought off a cop and stole his gun!!
Then, for the cops to stand by and watch this woman pull this man over the roof.. it was dramatic...but again, poor police work. Where were the rescue cops?. How come only the dectectives on the case and the ADA were there? Why didn't they grab the girl as soon as the man had her in his arms? I know... it's TV!! but, these were unprofessional actions. I love L&O-SVU-but they are getting too sloppy!!

I agree totally, but had decided long ago to forgive SVU their Gaffs as the show totally entertained me. Some of the scenes through the years were very hard to watch as the script mutilated protocols left and right. I felt tonight was a set up for something else in regards to the ADA. Well that is my two cents on the matter.

Great episode! I especially liked the ending. The moment I saw her eyes shift to Benson and Stabler, I knew exactly what was going to happen next. Stephen Collins' reaction was masterful. I felt for him.

Well because of election coverage here in Indiana I missed a chunk of the show (from about 10:35 until 10:50) so I missed the lead up to who killed the victim. We came back when they were on the roof and she grabbed the son so he would die with her. Talk about twisted, preferring him dead instead of alive and having to deal with his father.

I thought this was a good episode, but not one of the best. You do have to admit you could not see the end coming. It was really unique for Law and Order which is a nice breath of fresh air. It is also nice to see them use Peter Hermann more often. Next time you watch it, look at Mariska when she comes out of the elevator that he and Stephan Collins are about to get into. She watches them, or Peter, for an unusual amount of time, which I found kind of humorous.

I noticed the elevator scene as well. It was cute, she is pretty much walking backwards watching them. It was great to see him back! Overall another great episode!
