When will the new season start on TV?

If it's anything like my season, which started filming at about the same time of year, then it will probably hit the airwaves in September.

Jillian didn't mention a air date but she does talk a little bit about the new season on the May 18 radio show. They are filming now.

This site already has said Season 6 starts in October.

I keep finding conflicting information on this forum and in other places on the web... some say that Season 6 is already filming... others say that auditions are still open... nothing seems to be actually dated! It seems to me that given the timeline that they must be already filming for Season 6 if it is to start in the Fall. So then I imagine that if one were to send in an audition tape now... it would be considered for Season 7?! I am so confused! Please tell me they aren't doing "Couples" AGAIN for season 7. Two in a row was enough.

From what I know and as far as we made it in the casting process they were going to week of finals in CA on April 26 that weekend. So from what I understand they are already in CA doing Season 6. Just not sure when it will air on tv.

I'm with you.....the couples version did not impress me at all. I hope they are doing overweight midgets this season. The Biggest Loser meets Jerry Springer. Overweight midgets battle their weight problems and each other in order to win over their love interests.

I am completely confused... I have read all over the forums and have not found an answer. I have looked on the NBC site casting section and it states they are taking audition tapes for couples and turn them in ASAP. I'm reading in so many places that season 6 is for family members only? How do I find out if that is true and whether or not the auditions for season 6 are closed? I have a team member and we are doing our video, but I don't want to turn it in if it's not the right time. Are they casting for season 7 right now or 6 and are both of them couples? I'm confused. I would think if casting was closed, they would have that on the casting section but they don't. Can someone help me please??

On a podcast with Jillian she said they are filming season 6 right now. It is parents and children versus husbands and wives. I am not sure why they haven't taken down the casting announcement yet. Season 7 is supposed to be couples but who knows NBC may change their minds again like this past season. I would wait just a little bit until they make the official announcement I have heard in June or July. Season 6 is supposed to air October and season 7 in January. Hope that helps

Jillian talks about the filming in her 5/18 podcast (from Jillian On Demand from her radio show) and said that it is families this time....and one family has a 4-year-old that weighs 70 pounds!!!!!!! It sounds like the contestants will be morbidly obese, at least some of them, in the 500 pound range, per her podcast. She and Bob at the time of her podcast were going around to various states (one being Lousiana) and picking up the family members themselves, so that's how Season Six people know if they have been picked!

Season six is filming according to Jillian. They're still casting because they need to get rolling on season seven soon. Now that they are filming two seasons a year, to get that 8-9 month time frame from start to finale, they would have to start filming season seven at about the same time, or a little before, season six starts airing. That means they have a few months until the cast needs to be finalized.

When will they "reveal" the pics/bios of the Season 6 contestants?

Season 6 is tentatively scheduled to premiere in September. It has been filming since the first week of May.

They will not announce the contestants until shortly before. Watch the Diet Blog at DietsInReview.com for updates on the show.

Season 6 is filming right now, casting closed. Season 7 is accepting applications, another "couples" season. It will premiere in January 2009.

Just curious???? Are you in the know Oubrandi? I haven't seen anything titled season 7 yet and didn' want to waste our time sending in another couples dvd if they aren't casting yet for season 7.

Usually they start releasing photos, commercials, and information about the new season about a month before it airs. I think I remember that being when our names and photos hit the web and media for season three.

I've seen the website had a promotional for the new season with it premiering in Oct. I think the Network also had a post put up regarding the seasons debut dates in the fall for various shows.

I'm curious about a couple of things

Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back if you've been selected with your audition video?
What are the next steps when your selected from that portion?
AND do you get paid while you are there at the ranch since you can't go home and work?

Will all three trainers (Bob, Jillian, and Kim) return to the biggest loser season 6?

I'm pretty sure it's just Bob and Jillian.

So is Kim still affiliated with The Biggest Loser or was she just there for the season 3 and 4?

I think she is, her website says she is a co-trainer on the shpw! But who knows! I cant wait to see Season 6. My wife and I did not make it on (despite a casting interview) so it will be interesting to see what we "missed" out on!!!

How many days til the premiere?

Its seems that for those who make it onto Season 7, they're going to miss all of Season 6 on tv. Hope they have TiVo! I have Biggest Loser and BL Couples on my season pass so I won't miss any of them no matter what!

I've been watching the episodes from previous seasons that I recorded onto DVR while waiting for Season 6. I just wish they'd put the seasons on dvd like other shows because I could definitely do without all the commercials!

I just can hardly wait for Season 6 to start!

The site says that the show premieres Tuesday, September 16th. It usually airs 4-5 months I believe.

I am so excited to see this season! I can't believe it's only a month and a half away! YEAH! I totally miss it when it's not here. And When are we going to start seeing comercials for this season?! I want to see what's going on!

Kim Lyons was the red team trainer for seasons 3 and 4. She was the blonde lady that Jillian referred to as "Barbie" when she returned with the black team on season 4.

Season 6 starts 9/16/08 and Season 7 will start sometime in January 2009.

I noticed the picture on the front page of biggest loser and it states Parent/Child vs. Husand and Wives. Is that all that is on Season 6?

Apparently, Season 6 will feature a variety of related couples - parent/child, siblings, cousins, etc.

Just FYI found this on Matt's page. It seems like Season 6 only has Parent-Child teams vs Husband-Wives.

just stumbled across this over at Reality TV World. Looks like another September premiere date for the new season of Biggest Loser! I’m curious how the format will go; with it being families it should have some unique dynamics going on. Jillian will be leading a team of eight consisting of parents and children duos, while Bob will be leading a team of eight husbands and wives. I don’t know if there is any real advantage on either side; there will probably be a lot of drama because of the relationships. At first I thought Jillian would have the advantage having the youngest contestants - then it occured to me that for each younger contestant, she would have one significantly older (the parent), so that probably cancels out in the long run. I prefer the individual competitions. Usually, there is one member of the family or couple that really isn't on board with the idea. So you end up with one member dragging the other member along.

Yeah, but that's part of the intrigue - the interactions between the enablers, and how the committed person deals with the dead weight, so to speak.

What happens if a parent gets sent home but a kid doesn't? How does this break down in the individual competition?

My guess is that the children will have to be at least 18 so they could stay on without the parent. (I don't know for sure, but that's my guess...) Last season, entire teams were sent home together until they decided to just send home one team member. I always felt kind of bad for the one left by themselves.

we all are aware that biggest loser will begin soon next month in mid sept 2008 but my question is when are they going to give us a peak of some of the new biggest losers who will be playing that were picked for the show to play. my pal has only seen one quick ad on tv here on the east coast on the show starting again in sept but thats about it. anyone have a clue since the show starts less than a month away i was hopeing for a little more info on it.

I'm on the east coast too, lookingood and I've seen so many ads for the show it's ridiculous!

They are on during the Olympics (constantly) and they also (at least here in NY) run the ad at the end of every episode of Days of Our Lives (duh...Alison Sweeney crossover!).

But I have to say that they've been very good about it here in NY. I've been watching the Olympics (and NBC) almost exclusively for the past 13 days (because I don't want to hear any info about Olympic events that haven't aired yet) and I have seen at least one BL promo on every single program I have watched.

This is one of my favorite sites b/c they have tons of Biggest Loser info. They're sure to have updates about scheduling the new season. They also have a new newsletter just about Biggest Loser. And Bernie Salazar works for him, who I had a HUGE crush on last season. it's fun to keep up with him.
