I thought you might want to hear him singing a song. He is retired now but he stills makes an occassional festival or charity event.

Guess Who?

I can't get your link to work sad.gif.
djbee
It wouldn't work for me, either
WalnutValleyGal
I took a look to see if I could spot what was breaking it, but this one has me baffled sad.gif. It sure is a loooooooooooong link.
redheadedstranger
It works for me. It opens a mostly blank webpage with a media player. And it's playing Conway Twitty. wub.gif Sounds good too!
djbee
Maybe it'll work if I get out of Firefox and try thru Explorer?

Depends on your settings, I guess. I played it in Firefox. It did take a few seconds longer to load than I expected but it worked fine. It's worth the trouble. smile.gif

Me too. I am using Internet Explorer.
redheadedstranger
Hmm, it still works for me. It does require the quick time plug-in (which I already have installed.) Any chance that's the problem y'all are having?

Then I'm out of ideas. Maybe Eve will be back on sometime tonight and she can shed some light on it.

wow! I don't know why it worked for some and not for others. I know very little about them but here is his fan site.

Eve, I thought the song you posted was Conway Twitty. Are you telling me it's this fellow Billy Hughes? Wow!

The fansite you posted requires membership to play the files. I signed in with my yahoo id but I'm still unable to access anything that's listed under "Members Only." Does a person have to join Billy's group to access that area? I'd like to hear more.
evegpt
Yes, you will have to join the group. But if you already belong to Yahoo..there should be a place at the top that says "join this group".

That is my DH. He was in county music for years but he is retired now. Glad you like him. smile.gif I am his number one fan and I just decided to set up that website for his family and friends..they kept wanting me too so I finally go around to it...He will take request if anyone has a song they would like to hear and he can find the music....
evegpt
You know what? I'll bet those who heard it are a member of Yahoo...that might be it. I hope you will join Yahoo and then then Billy's fan site, group...it would be fun for him to try and do your favorite song. He is pretty versatile.

I found the link and joined the group. I've been a yahoo member for a few years. I'm a member of one or two groups but haven't been over there in a long time.

I don't know what "DH" means. "Dear Husband?" "Daughter's Husband?" blink.gif

I was able to play the original clip and I'm a Yahoo member so I don't think that is it. Also, I can still play it after joining the group, not that I expected that to make a difference. I have no idea why the clip won't play for them.

DH means darling husband or darn husband,,depending on how he is acting that day. laugh.gif

LOL! I love it! I just may steal it. wink.gif

I'm watching "In Plain Sight" right now but I plan to listen to some of Billy's music tomorrow, when MY "DH" is at work and I can crank up the volume. wink.gif
redheadedstranger
Eve, I'm listening to some more of Billy right now. He does have a very "Conway" sound to his voice and since the first song I listened to was one of Conway Twitty's I really thought you were kidding about who was singing. Now I can hear the difference. The voice is somewhere between Conway Twitty and John Conlee. It's a good voice, IMO.
