Piers Morgan - recently crowned the first-ever “Celebrity Apprentice” winner by Donald Trump - returns as a judge on “America’s Got Talent,” NBC’s summer reality competition series, which brings the variety format back to the forefront of American culture.

A former editor of the London Daily Mirror, Morgan was arguably the best-known national newspaper editor since his good friend Kelvin MacKenzie edited the Sun in the 1980s. He became editor of the News of the World at the age of 28 -- the youngest national newspaper editor for more than 50 years. Two years later, he was recruited to edit the Daily Mirror. During this time, he was responsible for breaking several high-profile stories and also became close friends with Princess Diana. In 2006, he launched "First News," the first weekly newspaper for children that endeavors to educate them on social and political issues in a language they can understand.

On television, Morgan served as host for two episodes of "Tabloid Tales" for BBC1 during the show's 2002/03 season. Additionally, he hosted a three-part series "The Importance of Being Famous," the one-hour documentary "The Death of Celebrity," as well as "You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous." He also served as a contestant in a celebrity version of the U.K.'s "The Apprentice" which raised money for Comic Relief. Most recently, Morgan is a judge on "Britain's Got Talent" with Simon Cowell, which premiered last year to incredible ratings. Morgan also created "The Pride of Britain Awards," in which high-profile celebrities and royals honor ordinary citizens for doing extraordinary and/or heroic things.

I hadn't heard of Piers Morgan until AGT and enjoy his perspective on the contestants as well as his no-nonsense approach to critiquing the performers.

Thank you for posting his bio. I also checked his bio on Wiki and must say that he has an impressive vita. I rather enjoyed the information about his feuds. Nothing beats a good British feud for free entertainment. I was delighted to see that Piers is quite capable of holding up his end in a fight even if it is with a petulant little **** ant like Hilsop.

Wiki also noted that he has three sons and I have to believe that he is a wonderful father.

I love Piers. He is by far my favorite judge. He is also super cute!

I actually like all of the judges, but Piers is my favorite. He tells it like it is, and I see he had softened up some, not quite so brash as previous seasons. You can tell it like it is without being out and out insluting and he seems to have tempered that some.

As for being cute, well actually he is not cute at all, but rather a handsome, distinguished looking man.

Piers is an excellent judge. smile.gif biggrin.gif cool.gif

Peirs Morgan is honest. I HATE it when people "boo" him for his comments. He's saying the truth. He isn't easily manipulated, which is always a good thing.
Piers Morgan says it like it is, and I NEVER disagree with him.
Except when he insults the hoff. xD

I am with you! I always agree with Piers. Ever when he does insult the hoff (sorry, but David Hasselhoff is a tool). I wish people would shut up about how he is so mean. If if weren't for Piers, think of how many more morons we would have to be subjected to! Love Ya, Piers!

I agree with everything, except that I actually do enjoy it when he makes fun of "the Hoff."

Here's the thing:
Sharon Osbourne doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She's usually the very last judge to hit her buzzer, the only exception, I've noticed, being when the audience is booing like crazy, in which case her buzzer acts almost like a mercy killing. I was really surprised when she made a crack at the polka dancers because usually she just tries to brush aside acts as being "not appropriate" or "not ready." Constructive criticism is absolutely beyond her.

And David Hasslehoff? He's terrified of the audience booing him the way they sometimes boo Piers. If an act is clearly bad, he'll be a smug little [bleep!] and try to make a Piers-esque comment. Otherwise, unless you're a contortionist or a transvestite, David will never say anything bad about you. And that of course ties into my other gripe with David: he's absolutely infatuated with himself and thinks with his penis instead of his brain.

There's only one thing I hate more than when an act tries to compensate for their lack of performance by trying to demonize Piers, and that's when an act intentionally kisses up to David. It's unnecessary you nimrods; David was going to give you the check anyway!

Lets not forget that David is also the only judge so far that's ever almost killed someone with his buzzer. No, I wasn't a fan of the sword swallower either, but I'd have buzzed him in between swords. NBC, do you realize David could have killed, not only the performer, but this entire show by doing that?! I don't think the sword swallower will advance into the Top 20, but if he does, make sure you unplug David's buzzer so he doesn't get the chance to kill him again.

That leaves Piers as the only true judge on the panel; the only judge that won't settle for mediocrity and novelty acts, and dare I say it, the only judge that I believe could give half a crap about the credibility of this competition.

Give me a break. The dude is a good actor.

Some of the competitors are more attractive than Piers Morgan. Get your eyes checked. Neither is Donald Trump so I can understand why the two would hit if off.
kimmiSmart
You can betcha Piers would insult me if I got onstage and acted like a fool. What goes around Piers.

I like both Sharon and Piers, but can't stand David. He tries too hard to be funny and mugs his reaction shots for the camera- it's so overdone.

Strangely enough, I'm finding myself quite attracted to Piers. It's so odd! I like his honesty and maybe there's just something about an older British guy with a no-nonsense attitude that is appealing. I don't know! There is just something about him... Right. So now he's like my "secret crush!" Lol! TV does strange things to a person, eh? huh.gif

Im quite certain Mr Morgan has a 'secret crush' on himself too. The Hoff can be annoying but he has great taste in clothes and not a bad bod for his age. I would like to see Samuel Jackson as a judge but that would be asking for too much.

i can't believe what i'm reading here. sounds like a slumber party for school girls.

you like honesty ? there it is.

I don't understand Piers. Most of the time, he quickly dismisses the bad acts, but then he'll totally switch and let a horrible one through...
Simon_Cowell_Girl86
It seems like Piers isn't getting enough love in here! Come on, People, show Piers Some love!

For what it's worth, my wife is crazy about Piers - not sure why, but she just is. I guess she likes sassy Brit bad boys! She's hot for Simon Cowell too. Go figure.

Piers is a good judge (most of the time) but when he puts someone through who is really bad, I have to scratch my head and say "someone" must have told him to say that/put them through (i.e. Simon?!) I can't believe a guy with his smarts and background doesn't know the difference between good and bad acts.

Sharon is great - even though she's a little too nice at times, I still like watching her.
