This is the thread to talk about all things not America's Got Talent.

man, what did you do to our message board???
AzizalSaqr
As the new Moderator for the Forum I did the normal board clean-up, duplicate threads were merged, new threads were added for the Judges, the Host, and for the upcoming episodes, and titles were changed for several. I will be keeping an eye on the forum and moving threads as I deem necessary from this point on.

I did note that there seems to be a lot of unnecessary quoting of the previous poster's text. You only need quote if the post is several away and then only the section you are directly responding to. Also, please refrain from bumping topics, all it does is clutter threads with spam posts.

One last reminder...I have noticed several people posting in all caps, this is a violation of the NBC TOS...

QUOTE
ALL CAPS
I know, I know...everyone wants to be heard. With so many topics and posts,
it's hard to stand out from the crowd. But did you know that TALKING IN ALL
CAPS online indicates that you are shouting? It's a very aggressive way to
post and it doesn't come off as being very friendly. Moderators can (and do)
delete any topics or posts that use ALL CAPS.

Thank you for your cooperation, I look forward to the start of the show and to reading your posts,

?????????? why the spanking in the pm dude, and what did we do to loose Idalia as a moderator? I don't like how this has changed all of a sudden.
AzizalSaqr
You were pm'd as a courtesy prior to an actual warning being given on something that you might not have been aware was a problem, thus the reason I was clarifying it. As for the addition of an additional Moderator, Idallia is an Administator, and oversees many boards, we User Moderators often handle the day to day Board maintenance.

Feel free to pm me if you have any further questions,

The song went like

"I can't figure this out" or

"I can't figure you out"

It was really upbeat and the song was playing when they were showing upcoming acts or something.

Please RESPOND. I NEED THAT SONG! biggrin.gif

Okay so I notice there are basically no threads on this board, and almost every topic is started by you.

So is this how the board is run now? No more individual threads started by people, just long threads on each topic you designate?

I assume this is a moderator choice because I was here last year and it wasn't like this... people just started their own topics (no matter how redundant they were).

This way seems far less fun, and also more confusion, because these threads are going to get enormous and it's going to be impossible to go through them as they get longer and longer.

Why the limitation?
AzizalSaqr
When I came into the forum there were multiple threads for the same topic and these were simply combined to make things easier to locate. I have also designated threads for each episode, the individual judges, the host, general contestant and audition questions, and a few others. If you feel that something needs a thread of it's own feel free to pm me and I'd be happy to consider adding it. If something in a thread seems to be taking on a serious life of it's own, it is not unusual for it to also be split off into a separate thread, however, at the current time none of the threads are large enough to warrant that action happening. This system of organization is something I have put in place in all of the forums I moderate on and it works wonderfully, so, I see no reason not to have it in place here as well. If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to pm me.

What I miss from last season is the discussion threads that focused on particular acts. Most of the top acts had their own independent threads which made it easier to keep up with the discussion. People who like Neil Boyd could go to that thread to join the conversation.

I can certainly understand that you would take 3 or 4 Neil Boyd threads and combine them, that would make sense. Also, some of the threads became quite abusive last season, so I appreciate that you're actually taking the time to moderate the posts.

But the current board setup is counter-intuitive to me and I suspect to many others. A lot of people have their favorites (or their dis-favorites) and want to talk about them. I don't want my replies lost in some general-purpose thread.

As this is my first season moderating this forum it will be a learning process for me too. If I find that one particular act is becoming an active topic, I will be happy to give them a thread of their own, though currently none have seemed to be high traffic enough yet to warrant it. I haven't split the comparisons conversation as it has been the majority of the first episode discussion, we'll see though what happens after tonight's episode. Feel free at any time to pm me with suggestions.
