Ok this is not a thread about hating the veteran characters on the show...I think some of them are great...and I know I'm going to be stoned after saying this....but I'm tired of reading people wish either the vets get more screen time or for some of the previous vet characters to come back to the show ie Doug and Julie. Doug and Julie? Really? they haven't been on the soap for like a hundred years and now they only make appearances here and there and that's good enough. I personally think that it is alright for the vets to start becoming background characters for the younger generations. They had their chance already and their long run, time to pass the torch to the new crowd and let them have their chance. I know there are lot of fans who have been watching the show for many years...some maybe even before Bope, Stayla and the likes were the new people in town. Think of what has kept the show alive for so long...new and young characters that eventually have grown on the show. There was a time when Bope, Stayla, Jarlena were the young crowd. What happened to their predecessors? If the show is to survive another 2 years it needs to pick up more fans, maybe newer viewers so it does need to start showing more of the younger characters and developing their stories to set them up for the future. I say out with the old and in with the new. I'm probably the only odd one that thinks this way, I just needed to vent

I have no problem with the younger ones being on the show. That is what Days needs to have a future. But the main problem is shoving them in our faces every single day and not letting the vets have their time to keep it balanced. Too much young ones will lose older fans. Too much vets will lose younger crowds. It just need to be more balanced. I think that is probably the main complaint.

I really don't like many of the vets. They whine way too much. They gaze when they are thinking...it is annoying. I really don't think I actually "like" any of the vets. That is just me. It may be the fact that I relate more to the college level people, since I am 19 and in college myself. I don't know...I guess different strokes for different folks. =)

I agree completely!!!!!! The young ones can't take over completely....The vets are the reason I watch the show....



I'm 22, so sorry, not buying the age excuse.... (And the gazing thing is Days classic!! Perhaps it is bacause the new ones act the same as all the other actors from other shows that it feels like Days is losing it's magic.....)

if the vets had a good story line i wouldnt mind watching, but theyve been there and done that with about everything. The only true vet I like is Caroline. As far as vet couples the problem i run into is I dont like half of the couple. As in Bope, I cant stand Hope, she is all high and mighty, better than thou, manly witch. And Payla or Stayla (i dont know the combined name lol) i dont like Steve. He needs a hair cut and a shower lol. So I like seeing Bo doing Cop stuff and Kayla being a doctor bcuz I dont have to seeing there annoying other halfes. I like jarlena tho... but i still ff thru alot of there scenes.

also with the age thing, i am 20 as well but I prefer the 30ish crowd. Ej and Sami, Nicole Lucas Chloe, belle, shawn, philip. probably bcuz "my age" consists of an insest couple- an exracecar driving uncle and a clingy goody twoshoes niece and a whining tantrum throwing girl chasing 45yrolds
