Shawn is very talented, I get chills when she sings and looks at the camera, isn’t that what star quality is all about? Her voice is hauntingly beautiful, sort of like Alison Krauss when she sings, in that I get the same type of reaction to her voice.

Just because Shawn wears her heart on her sleeve and that’s no justification to bash her. There are other country stars that are just as talented and are a bit emotional just as Shawn is.

Shawn if you see this take heart darlin' because me and my boys are pulling for ya !
Also if we see John Rich on the street or in the bar he better look out because he might just see a bear bottle fly at him.

Shawn has no talent. She needs to find a job. If Shawn does not change her career path now she will end up slinging drinks in a bar for the rest of her life.

Shawn has grown on me. I didn't care for her that much at the beginning of the show because it seemed like she had sooo much attitude. But now I think that was all just a front - a frightened girl scared of being rejected so she acts tougher than she really is. I think Shawn really has a lot of talent. I don't think she'll win - but I do think that she could definitely become a force to be reckoned with if she just has the right mentor working with her. She has elements of Elvis, Sara Evans, Bonnie Tyler and Janice Jopllin all rolled up into one and she just needs to find a way to combine all of those sounds/elements to make HERS. I also think that John Rich was the wrong mentor for her (the man picked Julio Inglesis Jr as the next country star remember? I still can't figure out why he didn't choose Bobby Brown - Bobby's song ROCKED and I still listen to it all of the time - would love to hear it on the radio) Anyway - sorry about getting sidetracked. Back to Shawn - Shawn, if you're reading this - keep fighting the valiant fight. I applaud you for having the cajones to stand up to someone as powerful as John Rich and the grace to do it in such a nice way. You're a talented lady and I look forward to hearing more from you!

I like her, but I think that she does need work. She has not been consistent. But she has it in her, she just needs work!!! Love her

Shawn has talent, don't get me wrong... She just has way too much attitude. In my eyes, it seems like she has this idea in her head that she is already great and doesnt need improvment. Everyone goes on and on about how sweet, wonderful, talented, pure.. blah blah puke. The girl is just pulling at strings thinkin' it is going to get her where she WANTS to be. No one wants to listen to a snobby "im so great" country artist. I really wish she would deflate her ego so that she can make us Iowa folk proud.... But I personally don't see that happening anytime soon, so I'm not gonna hold my breath, at this point I'm rooting for Ash.. At least she is respectable and REAL!

Yeah, you get the feeling that not a single one of these contestants has ever heard any real criticism before. It almost seems as if most of these contestants have lived in a bubble, where their "talent" is concerned, and have only been surrounded with sycophants and "yes-people". Whenever the judges are critiquing Shawn, it's almost as if you can see the disbelief in her eyes when they don't automatically fawn over everything she does. Sort of a "What do you mean, everyone else loves me" mentality.

I didn't expect her to make it this far, but to be honest, after the top 3 (Gabe, Melissa and Ashlee) the rest of the contestants have pretty much been interchangeable.

After being one of Shawns biggest fans for years, I am furious at this stupid show. They have completely represented Shawn different from who she is. They have given her crap to work with, and considering that fact she has still been able to make it this far. The Shawn I have watched perform is 150% better than how she is coming across on this dumb show. When I first heard she was on it, I thought, "Wow, she is going to blow everyone away" But the format of the show doesnt let the performers show what THEY do. If they are doing it to her then they are doing it to the others also, so it is NOT a fair contest. The only good part is that she WILL go on after this no matter if she wins or not and I guarantee she will make it big. She has unbelievable talent in both the performing of the songs and writing them. She has it all and will be a star with or without winning this show.

That's a pretty strong guarantee, SNF. Would you be willing to bet next month's mortgage payment on it?

I just don't see it. But, I don't see that any of this bunch of performers will have much of a career past the 15 or 20 minutes that Nashville Star has given them.

I honestly hope you're not too disappointed when, a couple of years from now, Shawn is back in Iowa singing at the local bars and county fairs.
