I love the puns on mail and sound... Well, not really...

Well, I don't believe for a second that anyone would name their son "Echo". That aside, this was an interesting one. I like Mister DeMille. Two problems, though:

1. It's vertically all internal monologue.
2. The anti-Echo feels like too much of a Deu Ex Machina. I can accept that "the Company always wins" in the end, but this was too cheap.

Tell that to the: Apple, Moon Unit, Paris, Bienvenido, Jesus, Harmony, Lyric, Hope, Dax, and Six in all of our lives.

Did anyone else have a hard time with the continuity of this?

The webisode... Gina didn't seem to know he had a power. In this comic, she's known for some time.

At the conclusion of the webisode, all went blank after he used his power and then he awoke in the cell. The novel is that "blank" part?

It doesn't seem right....

Also a minor thing, I also understood he was a musician, not a DJ, based on the backgrounds of the webisodes. A DJ would have more records, cds, equipment, and less instruments and would be sleepin' in. lol.


And how the hell, and why did the company find a sound dampener? A LIBRARIAN. Lamest power ever. Very "spot on the wall" talent AND Deus Ex Machina... not a good combo.

Paris, Jesus, Hope, and Dax are fine names...

I made a sound absorber for an online RPG. The difference is I made him mute due to his power, and have some above-average hearing. I think my version is more logical.

On the subject of names: I think the writer, Yule Caise, decided that he wanted the name to match the power. The more this is done, the closer Heroes will be to Xmen.

yeah - what are the odds that a guy named Echo manifests a power that deals with sound mimicry/amplification?! i dont think the sound absorbing power is stupid - however, it just seems convenient for the story.

The sound dampener seemed like a easy way for the writers to be able to have Echo taken down.His name being associated with his power isn't the first time the Heroes writers have gone down that path.Elle to name one.

Well, I never thought of that. Maybe because it wasn't such an glaringly unnatural choice for a name.

The new Season 2 Hero characters: Elle-electricity, Adam-the first (i.e.:company founder), Maya-Black Plague(Mayan Plague reference?), Alejandro (el que protege con fuerza-he who protects with force). West Rosen and Monica are the only exceptions, though a connection could be drawn to West's last name... and a strained mimicker~monica.
