Where are they now? Need for better filming at the end

I loved the show and I know that the teens learned allot and I think allot of us also learned allot. It was a fantastic idea. I was so disappointed at the end because of the way the filming was done with the graphic update. I could only read the first sentence so with all the couples I have no idea where they are today or whether any of them are still together. I also taped it with my DVR and played it back and again I couldn't get the update at the finale. If you do this show again and I hope you do please find another way to get across where they are today other than the darn writings that couldn't be read.

I watched the show and I could read where they all are now. They are all broken up now. It said Morgan and Daton tried their relationship again but ended up breaking up again, and all the other couples split after the show.

I enjoyed that part, although I felt a little sad as well.

I think I saw all of them really grow as individuals and I was rooting for each of them.

I bet they handled the breakups with more maturity and grace than they would have had they never been on the show.

They all turned out to be impressive in different ways, and I wish them the best.

Thanks guys! I hope all of you go on to have fantastic lives and become parents and/or life partners when you know it's the right time.

It took so long for me to be able to post that, ugh thats really frusturating, to bad to hear that you cant read fast, the end really, truly, honestly, sucked, i was expecting for atleast one couple to have made it, but then i thought, that was the point of the whole show, and then i was angry at NBC because thats what they were doing, they knew that this is what would happen with an expiriment like this, so upsetting though, expecially for the couples that everyone was hoping would make it in the end,. My favorite line was when the elderly guy said, I would kiss her, I just cant reach her (grave site ) and I think that they should not do this show again. And god bless the lady that they dedicated the show to, and to all the ex-couples, Dream big, even if you havent found true love yet.

I felt jipped!

I too expect at least 1 of the couples to make it.

The experiment served its purpose. Break up teens, stop unwanted kids.

but what's weird is this isn't the problem in America. It's the ones who are still in high school and have 2 or 3 kids before 18, ad call the estranged fathers baby-daddy. Let's scare the ones too young to buy a pack of cigarettes from having sex at all.

I can care less about someone who is over 18 and willing to get married and think they can handle it. I know couples in their 30s who run into the same issues with having kids.

I don't know. I just feel really JIPPED!

For the record the word is "gyped" and it's a reference to the idea that gypsies would cheat you. If you were 'gyped' it was because you had been shorted on a deal or trade. It is a racial slur against gypsies.

FYI.

Sorry you felt so disappointed on the outcome of the show! However, I have to step in and disagree with you on one thing you said... the show served it's purpose--Break Up Teens.
That was not the purpose of the show. These teens willingly participated to test their relationships, and the scenarios were not put in place to drive them over the edge.... These were normal real life situations they chose to experience, or "test drive" before taking the next steps in their relationships. I don't think at all the producers were looking to drive the teens apart.
And remember also, the show was filmed a year ago this month. These couples may have still been together when the show wrapped, but a year's time can really change and grow a person... and they may have gone their seperate ways long after filming ended.

You should check out the Town Hall Special next Wednesday to really hear the truth about where the teens are today and what drove them to split. All the teens, and parents of the babies will be there!

i couldnt believe none of them stayed together! me and my boyfriend watched the show every week and enjoyed every minute of it. we were so shocked at the end when we found out none of them stayed together..especially sasha and jordan! we were both like "no frickin way, they were so good together!"..he said if theres another season of baby borrowers it will be hard getting used to new couples bc to him they are the real baby borrowers lol

I'm sad to hear that they all broke up but it wasnt shoking. Most of them were in the beginning of their college "careers" and were moving from teenagers to adults and probably wanted to explore themselves a little more.
katiep722
So I just watched a re-run of the finale on the WE channel at 10pm. However, the ending was different. It had the "wehre are they now" writing at the end, but it said austin & kelly are now together planning for the future and that cory and a;icea are together after a few rough patches. I'm totally confused. Did anyone else happen to see or kow why it was different?

I just watched it now on WE. I saw it last night on NBC and it said all the couples broke up. However, WE said that Kelly and Austin were back together and working on their future plans. Corey and Alecia (sp?) were still together. After Morgan got back from the show, Daton called her up and they got back together. Is WE outdated or more updated? Why would there be two different results?

Hey I just saw that same thing and was wondering the exact same thing! I mean why are there two different outcomes for some of the couples? I'm really confused.

The follow ups changed!

I wantched the finale yesterday, and at the end it said that all of the couples has broken up and gone their separate ways.

Today, I re-watched it on the WE channel, where the latest episode comes out the day after it orginally airs. At the end, it said three of the couples were back together!!!

It said that Kelly and Austin are "back together and making plans for the future."
On Corey and Alicea, it said "despite their rough patches, they are currently together."
With Daton and Morgan it said, "Daton got in touch when Morgan got home, and they are back together and determined to make it work."

It still said Kelsey and Sean went their separate ways, and that Jordan and Sasha questioned their relationship and broke up.

I was really sad to see yesterday that they had all broken up, especially since I am a teen in a relationship myself. It was discouraging. But now after seeing this today I am a bit happier, if more confused. I guess next week's town meeting will clear things up once and for all...hmm.

Did anyone else notice this, by the way?

Hey! I just noticed the same thing! I watched the re-run on WE at 10 tonight as well as last nights and noticed the difference. I am really confused. It's weird there are two different conclusions floating around. I hope that some of the couples did get back together..I can not wait for the town hall meeting on Wednesday to see what the truth is. I wish there was a way to know sooner!
samiiilee
I know some of them have myspaces but I'm too chicken to add them, I really don't want to seem stalkerish. But Morgan's page isn't private, has a bulletin and it says they aren't together!!!

You would think that since WE is a "rerun" it would be having the same results as NBC. I was wondering if they purposely changed it from last night because the teens called in and said "that's not true." My husband and I started dating when we were 18, so I was hoping that at least one of the couples would last and experience the same things.

Could it be that NBC told her to say she's "single" until the show finished as to not ruin their outcomes?
samiiilee
That could be, but in the bulletin she sounded pretty adamant about them not being together...ahh this is frustrating.

I have a facebook and almost all of them have that too. I haven't added any of them either because I'm too chicken too lol. I'm sure there were guidelines they had to follow to not ruin the outcome of the show.

I hate having to wait until Wednesday to find out what "really" happened. NBC should post something or at least the episode soon. Ugh!

I know, it's going to seem like forever until next wednesday! The only thing is that I missed last weeks episode (the teens) and on saturday i went to watch it online and they still hadn't posted it yet...hopefully they'll get this weeks up a lot sooner!

The ending has been changed

The first timeI watched the final episode, it said all the couples had broken up. I just watched it again and it said most of them are still together. What gives? Whey di you change the ending?
andet
I'd like to know also. Not only that but it continues to change, I just watched again and it has changed once more. Now it states that Kelley and Austin are still together. That's a change on the last change.

I had no idea about this till I read this thread. I heard Hoda Kotb is gonna be hosting the Town Hall Special. This morning on the Today Show she said that none of the couples are together. I wonder if the endings are changed and Hoda said what she did this morning in order to keep people wondering who's still with who. I have an idea that Alicea and Cory may be together still cuz as I said in an earlier post in a different thread, I watched an interview from TV Guide this summer w/ them on there saying they were still together. I don't know about all of this though.

Were there any other differences on the ending besides the Austin and Kelly one? I didn't see NBC's, just WE's.
blb91
yeh i really wanna know what is going on. but here, for everyone wondering, is the differences between nbc and we:

Austin and Kelly: NBC says they broke up, WE says they are still together

Alicia and Corey: NBC says they broke up, WE says they are still together

Daton and Morgan: NBC says they broke up after dating again when she got home, WE says they are still together

Jordan and Sasha: NBC says they broke up, WE says they broke up

Kelsey and Sean: NBC says they broke up, WE says they broke up

i really hope the truth is revealed in the town hall special.
rickyis911

Thanks for posting the differences. That's pretty weird NBC and WE would do that.

Rickyis911, how did you get them to add you on MySpace? Do you know some of them personally or did you send them a message asking them to add you cuz you watch them on TV? I'm just curious as to how they accepted your friend request.

I have noticed the same thing too. I think alot of our questions will be answered on the town hall special, including who is together (for real) and who is not. wink.gif
ReaRea
Just a speculation but maybe NBC 'sold' the video's over to the WE network before hand and at that time some of the couples were together but when NBC had done their most recent update with the teens things had changed and they had all broken up and that is why NBC had the most recent of updates and the WE network did not. Just a thought. wink.gif

yeah i def. didn't think of that as a possibility. i was thinking more along the lines of something like for television they made NBC where they all broke up and then WE gave the truth or something... but you make a really good point. im super curious.
Denise1028
I was sad to see that the couples had all broken up, after all, they had been through so much together, but I think the show did its job. Life is not a bed of roses and love is not like Hollywood portrays it, there is a lot of sacrifice & hard times that goes into parenting and marriage...you want to be sure that you are really ready to handle both. To the teens: be young & have fun!--(responsibly that is!)

You can find their last names on the Baby Borrowers show site or by going online at a site where they have cast info about the show by typing in Baby Borrrowers.

Maybe they'll accept. I tried to add one of them on MySpace but didnt get accepted. Please come back and say how it all went on Facebook or wherever you're gonna add them at. smile.gif

I think the WE re-run of the finale is an older edit. I know for a fact that the one they showed was an older version, and NBC's is the most updated.
I_911
Did the "Lessons Learned" even cover if any of the couples were together? I can't remember.
It showed them all sitting together, but I don't recall them saying anything about anybody still being together. They briefly touched on Morgan / Daton splitting up. But other than that, I don't think they said if the couples were together or broke up and got together after the show.
__Rachel__
The host asked if any were still together by a show of hands or somethin. No one raised their hand. She asked if they all broke up. They said yeah. None of the couples are currently together.

I'm going to have to disagree here. These were not real life. It's like being at camp where everything is more intense. In "real life", they'd have dealt with a toddler throwing a tantrum differently, they wouldn't have put up with a know-it-all mother, and a kid who trashed the house would've met Mr. Friendly Attitude Adjuster.

They would have had time to grow together, and they would bond differently with children who were their own. Most would have had extended family support, and they would have been able to enjoy the benefits of marriage, not just the trials.

Interesting concept for a show. Probably only viable once, though.
